Mmm, love a cheese scone PaulieH and they look delicious!
For the last few days,
As Amps has said the sun has shone but the wind has kept keen so good to have a jacket on, topping up VitD though.
There was a Sunday morning breakfast out and C dog came nose to nose with a very cute spaniel. There was some sneaked pieces of bacon for our girl plus Huzzah the treat lady came round with her jar as well.
A good prune of the Forsythia now it’s stopped flowering and a green bin filled up.
You could more or less see the Montana clematis flowers opening up and it’s now covering the side of the shed.
Mama and Papa blackbirds must have a brood hidden away somewhere in the hedge as all day they can be seen with a beak full of grubs although she enjoys a bath too.
Talking of birds am thoroughly enjoying Sam & Ade go birdwatching, a Bob & Paul version for our feathered friends. This week they were in Norfolk at Cley, one of my favourite spots.
Lunch out with my bf, picked up a few bits for the garden ( more lavender, verbena ) and then we sat, ate and nattered. Perfect.
More Wind in the Willows listening and Piper at the Gates of Dawn, my favourite chapter. His wonderful descriptions of nature and more than a little Paganism thrown in, sigh.
The brilliant green of the beech trees and others, all leaves now out and shining.
As always spending time with the beautiful grey one, yesterday was working in her field and the skylarks were up & singing high above us.
Sun felt warmer in the afternoon and for the first time this year I got hot working in the garden. Clever C dog just lay on the grass enjoying the warmth, must be more dog ☺️

Morning all.
Another glorious spring day from the looks of it. Lovely.
Some pleasures:
Everywhere is lush and green and blossomy. Spring has well and truly sprung.
Have my copy of The Enchanted April on my reading pile, really looking forward to a re-read of an old favourite but first am on with Agatha Christie's Dead Man's Folly, set at her home in Devon which we are visiting next month.
Lovely afternoon at a local country park, sat in the warm sunshine by the lake.
Middle grandson has had the 3D scan of his arm to decide whether he needs surgery or not. Hopefully, if he does, this would be after A Levels and before Uni.
Sister is still in hospital - not a pleasure as such but I'm happy she is there for the moment being monitored and having various scans and tests. They now think in addition to her other problems there is something amiss to do with electrical impulses so are having meetings and discussing a plan of action. For now she is in the best place.
Had a wry chuckle, mhagster. Every house move apart from this last one I have left my house spotless and moved to one that wasn't. Here, they had employed professsional cleaners and gardeners so the house and gardens were immaculate - and we promptly proceeded to take a very big sledgehammer to it and have spent the last six years practically demolishing and rebuilding. Ooops!
Hard to believe it's May this week, the year is flying by. A few days away at the end of this week so hoping the fine weather continues.
Enjoy your weekend, whatever you are up to, and hope you can enjoy some sunshine where you are.

Evening all 😊
Five pleasures for the last few days:-
- Finished compiling a difficult (to me) document I had to send off, then sending it.
- A long late afternoon drive yesterday where I ended up coming back home surrounded by huge cloudless sunny skies, a glorious sunset then dusk, and stars and moon coming out. Just lovely.
- Saw a hedgehog in the middle of one of the country lanes and was driving slowly enough to avoid it and let it wander into the hedgerow safely. A little life saved.
- Bought DGD two 5-packs of socks, ten pairs in all, in a good range of colours. She’s apparently grown out of her first sizes. I’d forgotten how sweet baby socks are.
- Visiting the garden centre this afternoon. I avoided buying on impulse, just enjoyed looking and left having only bought things on my shopping list.
Sweet dreams,
B x

Had a really lovely day out at a vintage show
The weather was amazing, a bit too amazing, I caught the sun somewhat I'm very pale, whereas DH just goes tanned at the merest sight of sun.
The ferrets were amazing with all the attention.
It was lovely to catch up with a friend.
Home for tea and a lot of after sun.

Good morning. Oh this weather! I love it!
Dundee Doll - yoo hoo! Hope all is well and you're just being even busier than usual.
We're just back from a Gardens of Cornwall coach trip in the most amazing weather. Glorious warm, even hot, sunshine everyday. The Eden Project is amazing and very beautiful. DH was in awe of the engineering too but my favourite was The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Parts in the ' jungle' were almost magical. The feeling of being surrounded by beauty was almost overwhelming. A very spiritual place I felt.
And now we're back. And our own little garden will be a jungle too if I don't get it sorted. And the washing to do of course. But all well worth it. We saw amazing places, spent whole days out in the sun and I now have calf muscles of steel from all the hills ( we live in a bungalow in a very flat region. My legs aren't used to steps and hills😂 )
Happy 🌞 day everyone

Good to “hear from you” BOP.
Dh and I took 6 ferrets into the vets for health checks; there were ferret cuddles for all who wanted.
Home and I got on with some gardening and planting and managed to throw my back, ahhh that age.
So inside and with the last of the Christmas turkey I cooked up a curry, batch cooked some brown rice, and dinner was served with saved rice for tomorrow's food.
Ordered DH a little gift.

Some for the last few days
- Lovely sunny, warm day to watch rugby. Shame we lost again but good seeing people.
- Saturday evening went to a Greek evening at local pub and food and music was very good.
- Went to a tulip farm on Sunday. Enjoyed walking round in the sun but won’t be going back again.
- Then went to Wakehurst place for a quieter, more peaceful walk. Rhododendron looked fantastic.
- Few more bits done in the garden.

- Seeing the bright yellow fields of rapeseed.
