For Friday.
Up early and we arrived at CP at 6.30am…there was a shaft of rainbow all the way down and then when we got there between the trees was a golden glow…sunrise . My pot of gold! Lovely walk.
Sat and read my book till I finished it.And hurrah for swimming pool season! Started today but pool was rather cold ( supposed to be heated and there have been extenuating circumstances why it wasn’t but was fine after the initial shock and just meant I kept moving.
And aaaah at the hot shower afterwards…for all it’s a wee space it’s a great power shower!
Hoovered and washed floors and then a Quick walk before home.
Cut the grass. Hoovered. Had stripped the bed at caravan so got that all washed and dried…and shall iron my pillowcases and then take it all back down!
someone came and collected a pile of boxes we had used for the big move. So I’m glad they were able to be reused.Chat to friend and sister.
Popped round to see DD2. Nice walk there and back. Smelled like spring walking past gardens.
We had a drop in temp from what it’s been and it had rained here ( whilst I was out this morning) but dry in the afternoon/evening.
And just going to go and prep for work tomorrow…and do a wee ironing and tidy my office space.

oof I have had such trouble logging back in since the bot check came in - think it may have been something to do with previous update on university laptop (my only laptop). suddenly thought use your phone!!! but couldn't remember my password so tried resetting my password but could not get past the picture check until last night. This human seems singularly bad at convincing them I'm a human. So i have missed oodles of updates - hope everyone's well. well done on the playoffs bop we need to win today and for stevenage to draw at most.

Hey DDoll, good to hear from you.
Some pleasures from the week,
A visit to a friend last Sunday, she’s going to look after C dog while we are at the wedding in June and had a canine guest staying, a rather fetching miniature Schnauzer. We took the dogs for a walk together and had a drink in the garden of a local pub. Lovely to catch up.
Monday was my beloved’s birthday so we went out to lunch at the farm shop, C dog was very interested in the resident Highland Cows and went nose to nose with one then looked at me as if to say that’s a big dog Mum! She had some of the chicken out of my salad then Capt S & I shared the largest ever piece of chocolate cake 🍰
Early start on Tuesday as my big girl had the farrier coming, all sorted by just gone 9.30 but I’d missed breakfast so stopped at the post office in next village, Moulton Amps, which has a lovely in store bakery where I picked up a warm sausage roll then took it to the top of the gallops to munch it and watched the racehorses being put through their paces. Just babies really and my heart aches for their future.
The garden is really steaming ahead, had lost all my strawberries over winter after giving away my runners to DSS so replaced those, planted another batch of salad leaves plus got my carrots & courgettes into the ground. The roses are all in bud with one small bloom on the yellow patio rose, Clematis too are all budded up and ready to go.Had forgotten about a promised voucher when taking out car insurance so nice surprise email, it’s for the big river site which I try to avoid if possible but I did pick up two secondhand copies of Miss Read books. I’m a latecomer to this delightful series and find it a brilliant antidote to this worrying world.
Lots of time spent with the beautiful grey one, she’s been sporting her rather fetching fly mask for the last few days and yesterday needed sunblock on her nose, can’t have that lovely pink snout burning.
And just like that it was the 1st of May, Beltane, and a full moon as well. The flower moon and it rose pink in the sky before disappearing behind cloud.
Today I’m off to the yard this morning then will be glued to the radio come 3pm as United need to win for automatic promotion, come on you U’s 💛🖤10 -
D Doll - Phew. So glad it was only a technical hitch keeping you away! Glad you're back.
I have the smart phone/ hearing aid combo like your dad. It's great except the 'virtual receptionist ' bot at my doctors thinks I'm on speaker phone and so cuts me off!!

and just like that, Cambridge United are a League One side again!

Up early.
Washing out…it then had a very heavy rinse when I was out as we had a downpour. But dried by late afternoon.Out with DD2…I spend too much as I wouldn’t go in those shops normally 😄
Had a snoozette.
Work this evening. Meeting a new family.10 -
We will indeed be hosting Cambridge Utd next season @LaineyT - it was certainly an exciting afternoon.
- litter pick back of the school to the playing of a very accomplished piper who just happened to be practising in the school playground
- the lovely librarian at Lochee. I'm doing an A-Z of books this year as part of the 2026 challenge and had gone there for Vita and the birds. She has now ordered several books beginning with X for me to choose one from
- being glued to Sky sports from 3 onwards - decided to do it in the comfort of my own home
- Eugene Onegin (or Onesie at autocorrect wanted it to say) live from the met with gbf
- our local independent cinema encourages us to take a packed tea for the interval, and this being a very long opera we had two breaks. So my fifth is the very tasty pasta salad I had packed and the two kitkats gbf had brought
