Evening all 😊
Five recent pleasures:-
- The jigsaw I ordered for free with my points has arrived.
- Had a very good session in my garden and I’m starting to see progress. I took my time and had lots of rests so was able to keep going a bit longer.
- Lovely, funny chat on the phone with my best friend.
- Sorted out membership of our local horticultural club which gives discounts at garden centres and nurseries. I need all the discounts I can get at the moment! Getting a garden started on a budget is a challenge.
- Watching the 1979 footage again on the BBC website of David Attenborough meeting the gorillas in Rwanda.
Sweet dreams

was trying to see when I last posted and think it was Friday.
A mix of being too busy/ipad not handy/ tired by end of night or like yesterday in the land of no wifi!
So for a quick refresh here’s five OSP for the last few days.
Our NHS…I know we moan but aren’t we lucky!Sunshine! Hurrah! Beautiful sunrises and sunsets and the bits in between! Grateful for washings dried outside…currently waiting on machine finishing so I can head out for a free hairdo…apprentice is being assessed on blow drying a bob today!
My happy place…only went down at 5pm yesterday and home by 6.30am this morning but the need for some fresh air, good dog walks and birdsong was sooo needed! A deer ran through the wood as I was getting into car this morning! Just wow!
Finally getting plants and seeds potted up! And the sudden splash of colour in the garden with azaleas and rosemary and grape hyacinth and the sharp green of the Acer.
The joy of a Jaffa cake! 😆 had some at the caravan last night with a oooh I forgot these were here!
Right off to hang out the washing and then dash off. Will catch up on everyone’s OSP later on!

Morning all.
We have glorious sunshine again today, a lovely spring day. Looking at the forecast it seems we are having lovely weather this week and next, all apart from the three days at the weekend that we are away!
Some pleasures:
My sister is out of ICU and on the Coronary Care Unit. They have done tests and scans but she needs to be moved to another hospital for more specialist care. Apparently her heart stopped for 15 seconds this time. They are being more thorough than ever before. More a relief than a pleasure really but so glad some progress seems to be being made. Totally agree, mhagster, very lucky to have our NHS, in times of crisis they are unbeatable.
Middle grandson starts his A Levels today with two exams. Luckily, as a family, we all enjoy exams so he is looking forward to making a start. We are very strange, we like going to the dentist too! Funny how positive messags can be passed down the generations.
A bittersweet afternoon in store, it is little fella's - and therefore our - last school sports day. We have been going to them for 40 odd years in all, I don't think we've missed a single one for our bairn or the three grandsons. We've watched him from his first wonky little run in nursery right up to today when he is one of the four team leaders for the school - come on, Yellow Team!!!
Summer clothes have been brought out and some trying on done, in itself not a pleasure, but I have identified gaps and ordered some stuff to try in the comfort of home to plug the gaps. Our holidays start in a fortnight, need to get organised. Cleaned all my summer shoes, sandals and bags. Feeling very organised - in that department anyway.
We re in a cleaning and sorting sort of mood, long may it last. Having tackled our summer wardrobes we are now on with power washing garden furniture and sorting the outside seating areas. Hubby has touched up my summerhouse paint, cut and edged the grass and is currently washing the car before the sun gets round. Amazing how we get a burst of energy when the sun shines.
Right, need to get cracking, off to Sports Day at 12.
Enjoy your day, whatever you are up to.

- & continues how/why learning curves on new phone. Frith made the big breakthrough and found &'s email!👏👌 James and Theo have sorted the rest of it today.....👏🤞👏🤞
- Catch-up, including garden, and☕with oldest northern hemisphere uni friend earlier, back from a week on the Dingle Peninsula. Look at her lemon tree!
3. Thankyou Anglian Water's Ben, who has finally, finally, finally sorted out the repeat mess and halted threats re: &'s account, again nearly £200 in credit, also putting & on correct low single user rate, backdated. 👏
4. En route back from committal of ashes in Wales, learnt of shock death of young friend, rugby club man, player, husband, hero-worshipped Dad, all-round great guy, marvellous and popular rôle model, coach, utterly trustworthy, generous with his time, skills and building materials and so much more......none of us can believe it. Is this the place for such a not-osp? It has to be - to mark a wonderful person and a good life without knowing them personally, has to be celebrated in our current world.🫶💓🤲
5. King Charles, fullstop and the extreme cleverness of that speech, way too intelligent and subtle for many.😁💞💖

Hello. It was a chilly start to the morning…ya know when you’re out wandering country lanes in your jammies! But oh my goodness just watching the sun rise is one of my favourite things ever! And just us even better. Fields that had sheep in them last week are being ploughed. Birds were singing. And I came home the motorway way…not my favourite but it knocks off about 8 minutes!
Out to hairdresser where I got a wash and blow dry for free though I did leave a tip.Quick home and hello two doggies…changed for work and off we went to drop them round at DD2. And then off I went to do two services back to back, which I’ve never done like that…was just the way they had both come in. Have done two in a day but not in a row. Had a nice chat with the manager afterwards. And it was my favourite verger…all makes a difference! Just had a text from one of my OH’s friend who was at the service and I’d just said a quick hello as he was going in. So he sent a message to say it was a lovely service so that was nice.
Picked up a doggy boy. He’d had a lovely afternoon. He’s just had his tea and is lying in a sun puddle.
Going to walk round and see mums NDN shortly. Not been round in ages although I have seen her.
Chat to neighbour across the road…they had flowers delivered today but weren’t home…me…who’s sending me flowers…ah nobody! So had plonked them in a jug of water this morning and took them over this afternoon.

7) Made curry.

For the last couple of days
- Weather is good and hawthorn is looking lovely. Love the beautiful scent too on my way to work.
- Friend’s Mum is recovering well from surgery.
- A couple more days of work done. Very frustrating with the work ethic of others.
- Wondering round the garden to relax at end of the day.
- Booked a ballet for Christmas Eve.

Last night I’d went to visit my mum’s NDN. Had a nice blether but the blossom on the tree between them made me smile. It’s beautiful. Mum would always say it blew into her garden!
Anyway for today woke up early with a stuffy head /headache so dealt with dog then dozed off again. Took some painkillers and had some fresh air and it seemed to disappear.
Popped in to town ( via DD2 to drop off more plants and pick up keys to get cut) parked at town supermarket and walked down the hill…I never learn…as had to walk back up with full bags!Anyway bank first and helpful lady.
Keys cut and a very chatty man.
Charity shop mooch and a beautiful dress ( still with tags on ) , a swimsuit with tags and hygiene strip still on, 2 pairs of shorts and a lovely linen top. And then ( the heavy item I always seem to buy to lug up the hill) for DD2 , 4 lovely heart shaped bowls in a nice colour that said YUM inside. 2 large, 2 small. Happy new house!
Popped in to florist and had a chatter as I bought DD2 some eucalyptus ( mine from the wedding is still going) and then got home to a delivery of a lovely box of flowers! From one of yesterday’s families. So that was lovely! ( especially as yesterday it was across the road who got flowers) and because they were from my favourite florist they had said just make it with all my favourites…so it had peonies amongst others which I love. Very kind and generous and very much appreciated!
Then had just decided to sit out and read my library book when friend phoned so came in to chat to her.
Then time to go back to DD2 to do some lifting/ running up and down stairs…her washing machine door was jammed and full of water…and then I was full of water! Got absolutely soaked but took out a blocked filter with a rag wrapped round it, a piece of plastic and a rusty Kirby grip! ( from previous owner) so I am currently washing all the towels that we had to use to sop up a semi flooded kitchen floor! They can just hang out overnight.
And then home! Hello doggy. But then had to pop out for a work thing for half an hour. To see new family briefly. But back in and sitting with doors open and I’m just going to read my book. Was going to go to CP but I’ll go down early morning and hopefully try and have an early night here. It’s swimming pool day tomorrow! Hurrah! I honestly can’t wait…been counting down since October!

Morning all.
Sunny again here though I think we have rain forecast for the BH weekend.
Some pleasures:
It's May! Bit too soon, the year is speeding by, but my second favourite month.
Another two A Level exams for middle grandson today, they are always in the nicest weather! He thinks 'so fa so good'.
Little fella did well as his team leader at Sports Day, though he had to support his team in defeat - they came fourth out of four in the overall scores. He didn't agree when I said, as you do, that the taking part was the most important thing - apparently in a competition you either win or you don't he told me, but anyway was happy enough with his compensation ice cream!
(Step, though she never feels like it) granddaughter gets married tomorrow. They changed their plans and are now having a very quiet day and stretching themselves to get a house deposit together. Totally sensible and we are having a celebration party in the summer.
We will be away over the Bank Holiday, back Tuesday night. Hoping for some nice weather but its not weather-dependant so that would just be a bonus, everything from summer tops to winter jumpers can get thrown in the car and we will go from there.
Happy Bank Holiday weekend everyone, take care.
