A busy old day!
A rubbish night after a doggy wasn’t well…so spent a wee while downstairs on sofa before coming back up to bed about 1am.
Then alarm was set for an early start.
Service to start writing. Then out to do a service. Then home to finish writing a service. Then back out to meet another new family. I’m almost all out of words so no more writing today.
Tip visit with DD2 to chuck out a whole load of stuff. And although it’s appointment only it was crazy busy! This was at the inbetween writing/ visiting new family! I’d had to get out of service clothes, in to tip wearing clothes and quick back in to wash hands thoroughly and change into visit family clothes ( which are slightly less formal than service clothes!
Came home, hello doggy, I’m slumping on the sofa. Chat to DD2 and munched on a slice of RTC cheesecake!7 -

Hello…after a very rainy morning we’ve had a dry afternoon and a bright and sunny evening.
Up early.Did some housework of the hoovering and bathroom variety.
Then over to DD2 for a few hours.Home and hello doggy. Had some lunch and knew that I had to sit and work however…I really wanted to have a walk at CP so I combined the two! I don’t normally work there ( have only done it once before) but was happy to write for this service there.
So we headed off and had a nice walk. And then I sat and wrote and wrote with a nice breeze through the open window and the sound of birdsong. CP was busy ( why I don’t like going at weekends and it was last weekend of school hols.) Wrote until I finished and then came home.
And DD2 and SIL popped in. They were picking up pizza for their tea so dropped me off a couple of slices!
Had hung out washing this afternoon before I left as it was to be breezy so it’s all dry!
And now going to watch Casualty.

Not posted fir a couple of weeks or so
- Went away to France and had a great break with good weather (after wind died down) and did relax. It was lovely not having to worry about anything.
- Enjoying time spent in the garden - seeds sown and potatoes and garlic planted. Sunflowers planted too. I also enjoy taking time to watch and listen to birds and bees.
- My daily messages with a friend. Had thought they meant more to me but have found out she values them as much as I do. We often don’t say much other than check in with the other but we obviously both value the connection.
- Seeing DS2 and DDIL and granddaughter. She is lovely and I enjoy all the time I spend with her.
- Other DIL seems to be improving. She has found it hard recently after she had a miscarriage at Christmas but seems to be doing better. She has had some counselling which has helped. Hopefully she will continue with this. DS1 doesn’t talk about how he is feeling which makes it hard.
- My Mum has recovered well following minor surgery for skin cancer on her nose. She needs continual removal of cancerous tissue on her legs but won’t increase medication she needs due to side effects
- People at work have been good even if managers and ethos of NHS isn’t what I want. I would like to be able to put patient first and treat them as a person but that is frowned upon at the moment.

Hey Villagelife 👋🏻
Some pleasures for the week,A Monday trip into BuryStEds to pick up something and have a general mooch around.
On Tuesday I went over to see my pony in the morning due to #4. Took a treat or two out to the field then cleared it of some large pieces of flint that had worked their way to the top of the surface. Made a little cairn at the back near the hedge which she found v interesting. We then had a quick game of chase which she loves and a one point she squealed in excitement.
Home, quick change but when I went back out to the mini I had a flat, luckily Capt S was home and I could swap cars.
Over to fenland market town for lunch with DSIL followed by a facial with DN, a blissful hour and I floated out of her salon.
The lovely garage in the village could fit me in the next day so we pumped up the tyre as much as we could and limped down there, needed a new one and they showed me the nail which had done the damage. We’ve had workman on the estate so suspect that’s where it come from.My hostas have overwintered well and come back, first time I’ve grown them.
United won a hard fought point against the league leaders and are still in an automatic promotion spot even after Saturday’s results. Next up are Pirate Pete’s mariners.
The lawn covered in both apple blossom and dandelions.
More socialising, lunch out with two more pals which was lovely, we all worked together years ago and have stayed in touch. One of them picked me up and C dog greeted her at the gate with a very waggy tail.
Plenty of work done in the garden and have the aching muscles to prove it.
Tidied up and fed my herbs, looks like my sage didn’t make it so will need replacing but chives are starting to flower. I keep herbs at the back door ready for snipping and it’s where the wisteria is, oh the lovely smell and pleased to say it’s got loads of leaves on now.Saturday afternoon with the beautiful grey one, she munched on hay while I worked to get the last of her winter coat out then we listened to Wind the Willows on audiobook. The bit where Mole remembers his own little home always makes me cry.
Bit late home so quick tea then caught up on Gardeners World and HIGNFY.

Morning all 😊
We’ve had a couple of lovely days back near our old home, staying in a Premier Inn as OH went to a concert on Thursday evening and a football match yesterday. His sister, niece and nephew joined him for the football, and he also caught up with an old colleague and a friend at different points.
I, on the other hand, packed in plenty of socialising too — met up with seven friends (the “ladies who lunch”!), plus two other friends and my sister over the couple of days. It included visits to two garden centres, two lunches out, dinner with OH, and finally a Chinese takeaway with an old friend while waiting for OH to get back from the match.
We had a really good journey back last night — record time of just over an hour! It’s lovely to be back in our new home, in our comfy new bed. I’m typing this while admiring the view — field and blue sky 😊
Not quite sure what we’re doing today yet, but we’ll head over to the rental at some point to catch up on TV. The new Sky box has been delivered there, so fingers crossed 🤞 it can be fitted at the new place on Wednesday. We’ve also got new TVs arriving tomorrow, so there’ll be a bit more back and forth again!
All in all, a really enjoyable couple of days — and I may have picked up a few holiday bits too… three dresses, two tops and a pair of lightweight trousers for our fast-approaching trip!
Have a lovely (and hopefully sunny ☀️) Sunday everyone 😊

see if I can beat the battery on the iPad!
Up early but went back for a wee snooze.
Over to DD2 for a wee while.
Back home. Made a dessert for later.
Had some friends over late afternoon. Then next set arrived just as they were leaving! Hello. Goodbye. Hello!
Had takeaway for tea. And then I had made a lovely creamy lemon sponge and we also had wee Victoria sponge and some mini meringues.
Oh my goodness at the laughter and chatter. It’s what makes it all special. Friend brought me some lovely flowers. And then that nice moment when everyone leaves…and then I quickly ran down to neighbour friend with leftover cake! Way too much left for me to eat!
And just sat and watched sunset with my doggy boy at my side. And just received feedback from the service I had sent out so just a couple of wee extra paragraphs to add on …but that’s a tomorrow job!
And we had mostly dry weather with the odd shower of rain but nice to see sunshine.

Another one trying to beat the battery of the laptop
We had to do a late run for pet meds, entirely my fault as they were poorly I was making a call to the vets to find out vet availability but forgot to put in for repeat meds.
A charge in the computer so taking a quick opportunity to post.
Spent some time gardening, weeding, and feeding, and a bit of mowing and planning, and a few pots planted up.
Still reading the same book, my excuse is it’s a big book, okay maybe I read a bit slower to make sure I take it in ah well.
I cooked again and made a tray of cupcakes to fulfil the sweet tooth.
