Evening all 😊
We’re spending more and more time at the new place as it gets more and more comfortable 😊Garden furniture arriving tomorrow, tvs on Monday and Sky transfer on Wednesday, we’re getting there, just bedroom furniture and media wall to do on main list now 😊
Sister was down for a couple of days and yes DfV, it does work well having lodgers at the rental whilst we’re at the new bungalow 🤣
Mixture of weather, like most, some sunshine but quite often a chilly wind. I don’t think I’ll ever tire of the view from the front of the bungalow (photo 1) and I’m taking regular photos to see the progress of the tree and fields through the seasons.
I had another beauty treatment, a full body massage, it was lovely but I wish I could completely switch off. Swimming this morning (40 lengths).
First washing hung out as we got the whirligig sorted at the new place.
OH is at a localish football (Colchester) match tonight and I’ve watched the first 2 episodes of The Other Bennett Sisters (downloaded on iPlayer as we’re at the new place, no tv) and indulged in a glass of Baileys Terrys Orange I had for Christmas 🎄 ( I prefer the original). On Thursday we’re back to near old home town for 2 nights staying in a Premier Inn. OH is going to a concert Thursday night at Union Chapel and football ( his team are playing Wealdstone on Saturday) and I’m catching up with lots of friends for various lunches and Chinese takeaway, pre holiday diet has no chance and only 6 weeks to go 🤷♀️
Right, I’m in my comfortable new bed now so I’ll say good night, sleep tight 💤

D4V I'm still catching up on your post - epic..
I’m missing the forum, my laptop has stopped taking a charge at all now, so running on a very if it charges get various things done fast. Not sure if I’ll replace it, I think a tablet might be my way to go.
Popped out to the CS’s but nothing this time, popped into £land for some garden plant tying things.
Replaced the old plant pots today and took the other ones apart, which was a bit of an epic and now have 3 pots with random if they come up then great plants. But it’s that lovely point where we can get plants at the moment.
The ferrets are plodding on, and we will take that.
Various de cluttering things going on, 50! Empty boxes out of the loft and recycled, and a few piles of paperwork gone through at least but not yet filed.

@DundeeDoll hope you’re okay!
Another day of much weather and oh it brightens up at teatime.Hospital with DD2 and hurrah to a parking space. Then back later and a HUGE hurrah to a space just as we drove in! Never been known!
Popped into charity shops and got a black top for work and a purple necklace and earring set as I have a service on Friday and the lady’s favourite colour was purple and I said I’d try and wear purple in some form. And though it used to be my favourite colour ( it’s now green) I don’t possess anything purple.
Hello doggies. Both so happy to see us!
Work calls! Three new services booked in so phone calls made to various families to arrange to see them.
Sister called and DD2 is still on the phone to her …

Evening all.
On my own this evening so dropping in to see who is around and to catch up.
Recent pleasures:
Took eldest grandson back to his Uni house after a stocking-up visit to the supermarket. All brand names as he 'doesn't like' the own brand alternatives (that he has been eating and enjoying at our house for years). £107 paid from the bank of grandma, then a second trip required for loo rolls, kitchen rolls, washing up liquid and bin liners.
Booked tickets for both nights of littlest grandson's school play next week. 'Peter Pan' and he is Captain Hook but apparently doesn't have to have his hand chopped off in real life. Oh good, you never know when it will come in handy. Will take middle grandson with us one night and then go with son and DIL the other.
After three days of a brand new but acid yellow (ugh!) courtesy car we have our own car back. All under warranty thank goodness as they know their is 'something not quite right' but don't know what it is. If/when it happens again they will have another look. Fortunately nothing major but this does not fill us with confidence!
Hubby has spring cleaned my summerhouse and oiled my desk/table ready for me to move all my stuff back in over the next few days. Done a bit of stocking up on new pads of paper, charcoal pencils and suchlike, can't wait to be settled back in.
Step granddaughter (awful expression for a beloved girl) has cancelled her big September wedding and instead they are having a very small, very quiet wedding in May and putting the money saved towards a house. Just them and two sets of parents with lunch for the six of them afterwards and then a summer party in July for all of us. Totally approve of their decision, very sensible in this day and age. We will add what we would have spent on outfits, hotel, etc. to their wedding present. She has asked her stepdad (my son) to give her away, he is very touched, lovely gesture as he is a smashig dad to her and much appreciated.
Right, will take a cuppa and my book and head off to bed. Been having a giggle to myelf tonight - as you do - about hospital gowns of all things. Reading about a gentleman who was handed a gown and promptly put it on over his clothes reminded me of the day hubby had his hernia operation. Sat in a room of four men all having the same and the nurse handed them all a gown and told them to get undressed and put them on. Can you imagine her face when she came in to collect the first patient only to find they had all - hubby included - put them on back to front so they were tied at the neck and open all the way down the front. Eeek!!! You couldn't make it up.
And with that image in your heads I'll bid you all a very good night and pleasant dreams!

ooh I am going to have an early night tonight! The house is quiet..just me and my doggy boy!
Up early.
Did a little bit of work admin. Printing. Invoices. Prepping.
And then out early again for another appointment!
However before all that the forecast was dry so the washing machine was on early! Three loads ( as I’ve had DD2 here) and all dried!
Quick home and quick lunch and then back out for work. A lovely new family.
DD2 kindly drove me as it was out my comfort zone for driving.
Popped into see a friend on the way back, who’s feeling a bit poorly, so took in some lovely flowers and had a quick chatter with her.
And home! Hello naughty dog who had found an empty box and chewed it all over the floor. I’m assuming it was my naughty dog as the pup (who’s a big boy of 3 now) isn’t a chewer. Yesterday there was a pile of tissue paper that had been shredded! And I’m supposed to be working on writing but I’ll start tomorrow and see how far I’ll get as it’s a busy work day tomorrow. I’d rather be fully in the zone and not tired and not in the zone!
Been nice to have a dry day…wind was cold but sun was out.

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1)Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to B and Q to get white spirits and Danish oil.
3) Had a cup of tea in the old cafe (it still has the same orange plastic chairs as when I was growing up).
4) Got beer for smaller son from Aldi.
5) Cleaned and oiled 2 charity shop coffee tables bought yesterday and sanded, then oiled the top of the tv cupboard. (A "temporary" charity shop buy in 2011!)
6) Tidied up the garage and garden.
7) Did odd jobs and watched TV.
8) Had a barbecue with smaller son.
9) Looking forward to I'm a Celebrity.

Evening all 😊
Mhagster, I was talking with my friend this afternoon about me needing a dog who liked tearing up cardboard.😊 I've decided to start saving torn up boxes to add to my compost heap when I eventually get a new one started. Tearing lots of big boxes into little pieces is hard on the hands.
Five recent pleasures:-
- Very happy, funny phone call with best friend – keeps me sane.
- Clean sheets on bed last night.
- Tried out a vegan tinned meal that I’d bought as an experiment – not the sort of food I’d usually have – but with a bit of tweaking it was actually fine so I’ll add a couple more for variety to my deep pantry stores.
- Fixed internal front door locking mechanism myself. Had to buy a set of Allen keys but the toolbox needed those anyway.
- DS1 keeping me up to date with his plans for house-hunting. I love it that he’s keeping me in the loop and bouncing ideas off me.
Sweet dreams
