Happy catch-up read outside a distant co-op WITH SIGNAL!😃so on y va, as they come.
- Big Tommy Dann Memorial match fundraising day was Good Friday. Fine sums raised including &'s raffle coshing, auction etc., excellent rugby men charity speakers, Tom Wood and Paul Pook. All made for another good mindful day for 2 vital charities dealing with young men's mental health and suicide prevention. TD's parents, wife and young sons are always present.🫶🙏🤲
2. Huge Easter Sunday service turnout and it was so good to give the 2nd reading.
3. 'See a penny, pick it up and all the day you'll have good luck', said &'s Nana, long before decimal currency came to NZ. Picked one up the other day outside emporium and happy enough to call no bad luck good. Ikwim.😁
4. Bits of CUBG and ducky bread fed, then The Alma for rugby-watching with patron. Lent over, so merlot and onion rings appeared.🍷😃
5. Splendid chance mtg in a MrT yesterday. Long animated chat including lovely young checkout lass with super name, Honey🫶, who moments later caught up with us, as we paused near the charity bookshelf, another 'Lent over' plus for &👏. She apologised for interrupting, but blushed to say & hadn't actually paid for her small shop!😱.....and it was so! Still had bank card in hand on trolley throughout, but we'd moved off chatting to not hold up queue. DG, much laughter all round. Had never happened before, but J said 'Oh, 4 or 5 times for me!'. She's over 15 years younger than &.🙃
#...still, all's well that ends well - and lovely garage has not long sorted &'s sudden new 'sidelights failures' msg, plus much happy rugby catch-up chat
&, what a yabber yabber account of much yabber yabber! closing with last night's striking sunset up on The Gallops.

@mehefin , I do have to admit to having a lump in my throat watching the two of them interact, despite cruelties visited on her in a previous life C dog loves human contact and will always go in for a cuddle. She is my first golden also my first rescue and have to say we were very blessed when she came into our lives.
Good to hear your herd are doing ok and in love with their furry neighbours!

Afternoon all 😊 sounds like some nice Easter 🐣 days were enjoyed by many.
My sister came down for 4 days last week, she stayed at the rental and we stayed at the new bungalow. It worked out well and we had some nice outings and meals out and I cooked a roast pork dinner on one of the days. She went home on Saturday and our new sofas were delivered just as she was leaving. We spent a couple of nights back at the rental, catch-up on tv and washing and we’re now back at the new place reclining on the new sofas, very comfortable 😊. Sunday I cooked a delicious roast chicken with lemon, garlic and rosemary, very tasty 😋 Yesterday the weather was sunny ☀️ so we went back to the Naze tower for some lunch in the sunshine ☀️, didn’t get blown away this time!
I went swimming this morning and chatted to a lady who used to live near our old home town. Sister is back on Friday to stay for a couple of nights and we’re off to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the local theatre 🤣Have a good few days everyone 😊

Right…quickly before the iPad runs out of battery again.
Made an impromptu trip to caravan last night. Had a lovely walk when we got there.
And this morning we went out at 6am as the most beautiful sun was rising and I was so busy watching it I almost missed the big moon setting. Just a lovely way to start my day.
Home by 10am and straight to the laptop to work. Sent that off in the afternoon.
Chat to sister.
Did a wee bit in the back garden and cut the grass and tidied up at front porch.
Beans on toast for tea.And warmth…actual warmth in the air! Lovely ☺️

We are hoping the illness among everyone here is passing so touching wood. A very quiet Easter, I don't think we saw anyone, and didn't go anywhere.
Requested a prescription for one of the poorlies.
I read that Marmite have sold out, so I’ve added a couple to some deliveries which I think will probably nigh on see me out.
I’ve found some heel balm on offer and on stacked voucher, can’t believe they have the nerve to charge for picking up from a store so I’m getting it delivered.
Spent the day in the garden pondering weeds, filling garden waste bags and tidying up.
More roles applied for with a re jigged cv.

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1)Not a bad sleep.
2) Cooked 4 portions of tomato sauce and 6 portions of chicken curry. Plus boiled eggs for sandwiches.
3) Went to the airport for a cup of tea.
4) Went to the nursery but only bought a peony in the end.
5) Had a barbecue with smaller son.
6) Learning this, and making a mistake somewhere different each time.

And now the day decides to be sunny! Though it has been dry all day! Some of my solar lights were still on this morning…obviously mega charged by yesterday’s sun!
Up early, had some work bits to finish off. All agreed on and currently the printer is chuntering away upstairs printing a service.
Hospital appointment with DD2 this morning and thankfully we got a space! 2s not the case when we came out later…no spaces left!
Went for some lunch. Cheap and cheerful.
Chat to sister.
Popped round to see a friend. So had a nice chatter with her and enjoyed showing her the wedding photos.
Home and was eating something and temp filling is half on half off! Grrr! But will need to try and wait two weeks for my appointment.Just remade bedding which smells nice having been out on the line.

- All day sunny and warmish, without that icy biting wind. A real bonus!
- Yesterday visited older former CS volunteer friend, now 85. Tricky pothole avoidance out to Kirtling, Lainey. She's a little dot, has had 3 bits of deep mole removal and I'm so glad I went - a happy afternoon.
- Found £1😃-immediately spent in Nexus on very decent porcelain physics formulae mug, for young scientist and rugby friends. It'll catch up with them at some point.
- Again, and at last, finally managed National Art Pass renewal, thanks to lovely Janine in Northern Ireland, with matching accent. Phone call actually worked up on The Gallops again.👏
- & much enjoys Rev. Richard Coles' Canon Clement mysteries,👍, so finding 'Murder at the Monastery' (2024)as a chuck-out yesterday=a bonus.👍 Will start it after this.🫶
A soft warm evening to you all.🤞

I did a leave in hair pack and it feels amazing, coupled with a face pack, I at least feel presentable.
Easter roast leftovers today, turned into curry, with brown rice and a naan.
Enjoyed time in the garden, I did mow the lawn, mainly to make sure the garden bag is full for when they collect it tomorrow, and then reading a Barbara Erskine book outside.
Made plans to take out MIL

Evening all 😊
Five pleasures:-
- If a utilities bill can be a pleasure, today I paid the lowest electricity bill I’ve had in the last three years.
- Listening to my current library audiobook while unpicking the seams of a very baggy pair of drawstring linen trousers that I’ve never worn, so that I can use the fabric with a different pattern to re-make it into some trousers that I might stand a chance of wearing.
- Baked spud for lunch.
- Happy phone call with DS1 who might have found a possible house to buy.
- PK, thanks for the info about Marmite ☹. I will have to stock up too. I bought a big jar for the first time in ages last time I was in the supermarket and very much enjoyed a smidgen on rice cakes earlier on. I had marmite sandwiches for my school packed lunches for years, and the taste is very evocative!
Sweet dreams,
Bx
