Saturday…up early and headed off to CP for an overnight stay. DD2 came with The Pup and we had a nice walk in one direction and got absolutely soaked returning! We had all the weather…sun was warm ( ish) when it was out and then it would lash with rain and then hailstorms…again a repeat often kind of weather. She left and I had a wee snoozette.
Another wet walk back up the hill on our late afternoon walk! I feel the weather often sees me on the return journey 😆Early night. More weather overnight. Very windy in the woods behind me. And a very soggy walk this morning at 6am…however I was having a birthday so it was alright…no wifi available until I’m at the very bottom of the drive.
Got so soaked I just decided to leave and head home a couple of hours earlier than I was planning to. And decided at end of drive…turn right instead of left and come back motorway…thought I was adult enough to go that way!
Stopped at supermarket for rolls and slice for breakfast which I shared with the Newly Weds. when they came over with lovely flowers. I had left my other birthday cards at the caravan.
Birthday chatter with DD1.
Then we went up to one of the big just outside the city shopping malls. I’m not really a big fan of them or of big shops but it was actually okay! Had lunch which they paid for. Then headed home. Had treated myself to some nice perfume.
Had another snoozette this afternoon. Could hear my phone pinging with messages.
Friend popped in with lovely flowers and a card ( she had already taken me out on Friday so that was extra nice and we’ve just sat and blethered for a couple of hours.
So a nice day…although it’s now hailstorming again! Crazy! I have never known such bad weather on my birthday.

Happy birthday mhagster, it’s OHs today 🎂
We had lunch out yesterday at the lovely restaurant at the marina we went to for my birthday. It was very good but very 💰, definitely for special occasions only 😊
Today we went for bacon rolls and coffees at the Naze Tower. There was a small car show on with some lovely cars, but the wind was so cold we weren’t out for long.
On the at back we stopped at Tesco for some on offer meat and wine, so we enjoyed roast beef and a nice bottle of red wine 🍷 for birthday dinner.
Night all, sleep well 💤

Evening all 😀
Happy birthday Mhags.
Happycas, what a lovely prize!
Five pleasures:
- Babysitting DGD again this evening for a couple of hours. Managed to send her to sleep with a fifteen minute detailed monologue about the characters in Winnie the Pooh. She's only a few months old and just needed to hear my voice. I probably could have read her a knitting pattern and she'd have nodded off.
- Driving home in moonlight under the most amazingly clear star-filled sky.
- Finished the sorting and stocktaking of all my household/cleaning products and along the way also sorted the cupboard with spare storage containers, thermoses, jam jars etc. Am feeling virtuous.
- Frith, thanks for the reminder about the Huw Edwards drama. I don't have a licence so don't watch live telly or iplayer and it's been annoying because, although ITV and C4 catch up have been fine, for several years my laptop has not allowed me to log in to Channel 5's catch up. I tried logging in again just now and whatever the glitch was seems to have gone.
- Am sitting all warm in bed with a hot water bottle and mug of cocoa while writing this.
Sweet dreams

Up early.
Had a productive start to my day.
Washing hung out…which went on to have several more rinses! Note to self ignore the flaming weather app! However was blowy enough to mainly dry .
Had ouchy ouch massage. Was just walking home when florist van arrived with a lovely basket of flowers from DD1.
Then Aunt arrived ( mum’s sister) …emptied content of her car into mine and we headed off to beach town to drop something off.
Popped into caravan on way back to show her. And brought my birthday cards back home ( had left them there yesterday)She had brought me a nice plant for the garden.
Then home and DD2 and SIL came over. They showed her their wedding photos and we had lunch. She left. They left…briefly and I made a work call and finalised the service I had been working on.
They came back. Briefly and then left again.
And I’m looking forward to a quiet evening!

- Hooray! That vile biting wind of the last 5 days is not blowing today.
- Happy Food Warehouse 10% discount Tuesday, so 50-ish bread rolls, all sorts, for tonight's Lenten supper. &'s task+good savings today.🫶
- Others may already know - & didn't. Oldest NH uni. friend showed me her latest £10 🥾👢gift voucher, received when she returns empty blister tablet packs! & thinks of hundreds she's put in the rubbish.....
- Signal outside a distant co-op, so can write+post these osps.
- Also managed phone call to old CS colleague and v.glad to have done so. 85 last Wednesday, some mole surgery yesterday, biopsies. She is a very, very dear soul.
The horror of cheapest fuel currently@£9.05 per gallon is just one effect of a convicted felon president deflecting attention from the Epstein files....😡😡😡
Friend's return flight from Australia has been cancelled and cheapest replacement is treble the whole initial flight cost!😱

I keep being surprised today at the time…because it’s light and later than I keep thinking it’s going to be!
I’ll sort in a couple of days!
Not up early! Yikes! I woke at 6.40am ( which was really still 5.40 to my body clock but still much later than I normally wake) and it was a work day! Yikes!Chat to sister.
Out to work. Not my favourite drive but got there and got back and such a lovely family.
Quick hello doggy , gave him his lunch and rushed down mine then straight back out to go into town for dentist.
Temporary filling put in and to go back in a few weeks. Waaah!
Popped into town seeing as I had paid for parking. Had a wee mooch round a couple of charity shops…got three pairs of trousers, a dress, a tee shirt and a jumper and a lovely cardigan. And shall take them out the washing machine in a minute!
Popped into florist to show them wedding pics.
Chat to DD2 on phone.
And we finally had a couple of hours that were dry this afternoon ( rain back on now) but hurrah for dry!
