For Sunday
- Slept in for me.
- Hot cross buns for breakfast.
- Most of the day spent in the garden. Much weeding done.
- Had soup for tea which was easy.
- Finished my book.
For yesterday
- It’s looking hopeful that we will get our kitchen cupboard doors replaced. All of them and not just ones with the tongue and groove joints affected.
- Met a friend and we went up to London. All trains were on time.
- Lovely walk along the south bank. It was good seeing it through her eyes as she hasn’t done it in years.
- Had both coffee break and a sandwich for lunch sitting in the sun.
- Quiz night and we won for the first time. People came over and congratulated us. It was a very close finish.

Good morning! Bit damp and drizzly here and back to a big jumper !
Yesterday I woke refreshed after a fairly decent by my standard sleep ( back to usual rubbish last night)
Put things away that I had brought home on Sunday and just had zero energy to do them then.Washings out. And dried as it was so blooming windy!
Met an old colleague as I was putting dog in the car so gave her a run into town and had a nice catch up!
Popped into workplace to say hello as I’d parked nearby to drop friend off.
Then down to the CP for a nice but breezy walk. And was very kindly given two large wooden candle pillars for free ( people often post things for free/ sale on the group chat)
Home and out for lunch with my daughter and son in law…we had a secret wedding on Saturday!Lunch was lovely and my treat but back to beans on toast for the near future I think 😆
Work call in afternoon so we service booked in and appointment made to meet family.Didn’t need dinner as was full from lunch.

We ran a few errands post office, dropped in at the shop next to it and picked up some 44p precooked sausages, then the pharmacy for prescriptions.
A nice rtc lunch, and tonight I’m putting cocktail size piggies in blankets, with veggies and gravy in an oversized yorkie.
Using up some bananas in a Biscoff and banana I guess smoothie type thing.
Washing out and dried in minutes in the blustery winds.

For yesterday
- Waking up to the dawn chorus
- Sunny walk to the bus
- Chat with colleague on bus on way home - more of a moan.
- Phoned my mum on walk back from the bus . It was blowing a gale.

Morning all.
I knew you'd be along, Lainey, with the info I needed! A sad anniversary for you this month x
mhagster - many congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple, lovely news.
Recent pleasures here:
The wind has finally died down, it was brutal here yesterday and did some damage on our roof and toppled over the central heating flue. Living on top of a hill we get magnificent views, the downside is if the wind is in the wrong direction it howls around. Anyway, just a bit breezy today so it's passed over thankfully.
Middle grandson was back to the big hospital for his annual check. Saw the miracle specialist who operated on him as a baby and thinks he may be able to operate again to give him more movement in his elbow. A 3D CT scan has been booked and they will take it from there.
After a year and a half at Uni it seems big grandson has finally got himself a part-time job! Yippee! In fairness it has been tricky as he is half the year at Uni and half at home and also in the first Uni football team with a lot of fixtures to work round. Anyway fingers crossed. He's done a trial shift and yesterday had his first proper shift. Trouble is his job is in Uni city and he will have spent most of his wages on train fares as he is home for Easter!
The staircase men came yesterday to finish off now the plastering is done. Took them another whole day so nearly three weeks' work in total but my goodness it is amazing. Very modern in oak and steel and glass but what was once a blocked off 1970s landing is now more like a minstrel's gallery type affair (dreadful grammar there!) and the glass makes it all so open and light, a real transformation.
The new front door is chosen and a deposit paid, just waiting for the surveyor to come and measure up and then all the major construction/building type stuff is finished - seven years of knocking about, demolishing and rebuilding, this poor house has taken a battering and is virtually unrecognisable. It's been a blast - literally!!!
Some pootling and pottering this morning then shopping this afternoon, a lovely Monday tea sort of day. Hope you have a good one whatever you are up to.

Good morning, just enjoying the sunrise and then I’m getting up!
For Wednesday.
Up early.
Wrote a list and ticked it off. So hoovered. Hung out washing ( just used the towel that had been out on the line yesterday and that lovely fresh air feel! ) Cleaned downstairs loo. Sorted flowers ( have so many flowers at the moment) Cleaned the log burner ( bit of a love/ hate job)…love when it’s nice and clean again!Popped out to supermarket. Dog boy had been very sick the night before so needed some chicken to go with the rice I had just bought on Monday!
Then it was time to get ready to go to work. To meet new family…which I would normally have started writing service for yesterday and why I am up and at ‘em super early this morning.
We had all the weathers yesterday…the washing had a few rinses outside but also had a good blow and dried with wind and sunshine! But we had lashing rain, hailstones, sleet, gusts of wind! When I went to visit the family it was a beautiful part of the day so I had a nice drive!
Home and DD2 was coming over for tea. So had made mince and tatties, with broccoli, carrots and peas , some puff pastry and had found some Yorkshire puddings lurking in the freezer and very nice it all was too! Sent some home with her for my SIL and then have a serve left for me later.Sat and chattered for a while. Then she left and I just headed upstairs and I must have crashed out early.
Right…need to go and set myself up at the table. Popped the heating on earlier and will fill a hot water bottle…it’s -1o at the moment.

For yesterday
- Didn’t get too wet on walk to bus.
- Work was reasonable probably very good for a Wednesday which is worst day by far.
- Left work bit early and took time owing as roads were meant to be closed but they had reopened and the correct bus was coming up the road. No need for a journey that involved 3 trains and a mile walk at each end.
- Met DH and DS1 for a quick drink- they were eating but I had sandwich on bus.
- Went to theatre to see in conversation with care and brown- ex rugby players. An enjoyable evening.
- Trip home by car less stressful
