- House tidy and time spent in the garden.
- Went to local pub for a drink.

Morning all.
Lainey - hope you are feeling better, go steady.
Paulie - so glad everything has worked out well for you, your new life sounds perfect. It's a lovely thing when you find your happy place, every day feels like a holiday. I'm sure you are thinking now it was worth the wait!
Turned out to be a bit of a manic week but all sorted in the end. And breathe…
Recent pleasures:
Eldest grandson asked for a lift back from Uni for Easter so we fitted our day round that only for him to get a better offer and his girlfriend drove him down. So funny listening him trying not to let us down but - very understandably - preferring her company to that of ageing grandparents. We happily let him off the hook!
Still carried on with our plans to meet up for brunch with brother and SIL. Came home with eggs, onions and potatoes from the farm and took the chance to firm up the plans for our Easter break.
Went to see the new Elvis film at the cinema for the second time, picked up on lots we had missed first time round. A lovely genuine person.
Our favourite gardens reopened and we carved out a couple of hours to sit in the sunshine looking down on the lake. The camellia walk was in full glory and the magnolias and swathes of daffodils were a sight to behold. Soon it will be bluebells. Definitely balm for the soul and I came away as usual feeling calm and put back together.
Some lovely warm and sunny days, spring is in the air. All the windows thrown open and feeling a bit more energised and ready to unfurl a bit.
We are off front door shopping today - well, son and DIL will choose, I am tagging along to pay as it is their belated Christmas present. Otherwise a bit of pottering and sorting to be done today and maybe if it stays nice a walk tomorrow while we still have spring flowers to enjoy.
Have a good weekend whatever you are up to, I think we change the clocks next weekend, there'll be a proper name for that. Lainey may be along to tell us in due course, the font of all my knowledge regarding seasons!
Happy Saturday everyone.

Still sniffly and snuffly here plus now Capt S has got the lurgy too so a quiet weekend on the cards for us although we may go out to the farm shop for breakfast tomorrow if we feel up to it.
Happy Ostara to all, the spring equinox and from now on the days will be longer than the nights so huzzah to that, it’s a bright sunny day here with real warmth in the sun and I’ve just had a wander around the garden as C dog went about her business. I saw two big old bumbles flying low across the grass and the birds are busy nest building.
It’s 16 years today since my eldest brother left us and, as with every day, my mind is full of memories of him and ohs but you’ve missed so much my darling! Life is so precious and worthy of making the most of. Love to all ❤️

Evening all 😊
Happy Ostara to you, Lainey, and to everyone else 😊
Five recent pleasures:-
- Jigsaw finished. Can’t decide which one to do next from the Christmas ones that never got done in December.
- Phone call from DS1 who’s away for a long weekend and has been frequenting second-hand bookshops. He’d come across some low-priced editions of books which I collect (very selectively) and rang to see if there was anything I was interested in. There wasn’t, which was a relief really because I’m trying to stick to a book buying ban this year, but I appreciated the thought. He was very excited about some of his own finds.
- Simple baked potato, baked beans and salad for supper.
- Coming across the BBC'sThe Wartime Kitchen and Garden series with Harry Dodson and Ruth Mott on Youtube again. Such down to earth and comforting watching in troubled times, and memories of how some of my elderly relations did things. I’ve rewatched a few episodes and will try to spread the remainder out.
- A glorious drive to check on my house as the sun was setting – a huge wide sunset over the hills and a lovely little crescent moon as I was returning home.
Sweet dreams,
Bx

Feeling relaxed just watching the canal diaries.
DH is feeling a bit down with the state of the world, so I dragged him into the garden to listen and spend time with various birds coming down for the food, I remembered that we have the Merlin app for putting on when you can hear the birds but not recognise them.
I tidied the front garden, weeded, strulched and planted up more pale-yellow primroses, and then DH took the strimmer apart got it working and them strimmed thankfully.
I just made a comforting spaghetti bolognaise for dinner, and I’m using up a crumble I made from the freezer when I wondered why it was at the back of the freezer, I found out it was because I thought it would be a good idea to add chocolate to a fruit crumble – it wasn’t, but it’s gone now, never to be repeated.

Just back from a Moody Blues tribute concert at our local theatre, it was excellent, the third one we have been to in the last few weeks, all been great.
We’re back in our lovely new home for the night, can’t believe it’s really ours 😊
This morning we were at the rental, delivered a birthday card to a friend and then went for a walk (and lots of sit downs) along the greensward and prom in the sunshine.
Last night, we went to a quiz night with friends at the social club, it was good fun. Two nights out in a row, unheard of!
I’m trying to post a photo but it’s not working ☹️Night all 💤

Paulie the photo's look lovely. Its lovely to hear your thoughts on your new home it sounds lovely.
Ah another week another vet visit, I think we are all wondering if a bug is hitting or the oldies are all getting things. This visit was a serious one with Polo struggling to breathe, we’ve done what we can, he’s on meds and painkillers, hoping he responds or we will need to put him under for investigation.
The morning was taken up with that, after his first lot of meds we spent a while making sure he didn’t react and settled down.
We needed to pop out for lacto free cream for his meds, all bar 2 items were at Clubcard/normal price. I struck lucky as a self-confessed crisp fiend to find several things marked to 34p for numerous 6 packs of pickled onion monster munch, walkers etc.
Rugs and heat packs re put down everywhere.
