Evening all 😀
Thanks for the info about the blister packs Ampersand. I've been out of touch with useful info like that and didn't know - very useful.
Five recent pleasures:-
- Driving over to check on my house. It was so sunny that I had to wear sunglasses, even early evening. The drive is so beautiful and I feel very grateful to live in this part of the world.
- Had a first go at improvising a new vegan recipe for macaroni cheese but with a different pasta and no cheese iyswim😀. It's not quite right yet but it was a good start.
- Lovely long phone call with best friend.
- DS2 and DGD popped in for a quick chat.
- Collected the books I'd ordered from the library - like buses, three arrived at once.
Sweet dreams

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) NT place to use their little shop to get birthday presents for my friend. Also had a cup of tea and a slice of simnel cake in the cafe.
3) Waitrose after for Easter presents for the niece and nephew - a lamb teddy and National Geographic mag for children.
4) B and Q for special spray paint to cover water damage plus rubble sacks.
5) Took smaller son to Aldi so he could choose some beer.
6) Sanded my ceiling repairs again, treated all water damage and filling with the spray paint. Just did first layer of kitchen paint.
7) Cleaned the garden of my weeding the other day.
8) Listening to our team's football commentary now.

Morning, happy April everyone!
Some quick pleasures:
Clocks went the wrong way for me but seem to have adjusted better than normal and not sleeping too badly.
We have hot water and heating - oh the luxury.
The magnolias in the garden next door are a sight to behold.
Hot cross buns, mmm.
Reading a really lovely book, A Far Flung Life. Beautifully written, I'm rationing myself to a couple of chapters a day.
A busy day today, places to go and people to see, finishing up hopefully with some lovely cheap veg in my fridge from the pre-Easter offers in the shops. Doesn't get much more exciting than that!
Have a good day, whatever you are up to.

We are touching wood making progress on the ferret poorlies.
DH had to pop out so I said we may as well up and explore the Charity shops, and glad we did a few bits snaffled this time, ellis peters book I’ve been on the look out for, and another supernatural one. A brand-new big throw for 1.50 and a donut mug, with a stoat thimble and glass blown dragon all vital things for 50p each, one of the CS’s is still a proper CS thankfully. Ohh and picked up a new to me velvet top.
We stopped in at Greggs for the lunch meal deal and struck up a lovely conversation sharing a table with a chap, sometimes I think these conversations can help I’m forever the odd one talking with strangers.
A couple of wash loads, admittedly still on the line, they’ll be dry in the morning.
A few more bits and pieces towards making sure the stores are kept stocked up.

@PK I had a lovely random chat in the charity shop the other day and as I was leaving heard the lady say to the shop assistant (who was part of the conversation) ‘what a lovely lady’ (me) and thought Awh that’s nice! Of course that conversation could have went the other way 😆😆
For Wednesday another rainy day in rainy land…until the sun peeked through about 4pm just as I was putting some sparkly eggs in a bowl for Easter decor ( much later than I have ever done) and the sun just hit the sparkles and they spread around the room shining! Easy pleased😆
This morning is cold and frosty which hopefully warms up a bit and means a dry and brighter day. There’s a storm a brewing for the weekend apparently.
Had a bit of work to do yesterday. The family are contributing to the service so I need to wait on their bits but wrote around where that will go…a start and an end and wait for the middle.
Then grabbed a doggy boy and off we went over to DD2…and then we went for lunch, to their local Chinese restaurant that does a lovely and very reasonable lunch menu. So that was nice. And didn’t need tea later.Dropped her off, grabbed a doggy boy and headed home in the pouring rain! So I still need to empty my car this morning.
Had an early-ish night last night and appear to have slept well by my standards.
Have a good day!

For the last few days,
Weather and so many different kinds, sun, wind, rain, even some hail thrown in for good measure and which meant my horse was waiting by her gate to come in, hurry up Mum!
Coat on, coat off, rug on and off for pony as well.
The hedges are white & frothy with blossom.
As is the pear tree in front of the big house.
The beech trees have tiny silver spots on the very ends of the branches where the leaf buds are waiting to emerge.
The wisteria we planted last year has some flowers coming out but no leaves, any experts out there, is this ok?
Lighter evenings and a blackbird singing out from the branches of the old apple tree.
Coffee, cake and belly laughs with my bf.
Gentle escapism of a new series of the Marlow Murder Club.

Evening all 😊
Five recent pleasures:-
- Driving behind an owl who taking the same quiet lane home as me at dusk and then, as soon as s/he had swooped off, a hare appeared and lolloped along the road in front of me for a while. It couldn’t decide where to leave the track. I kept my distance. All very magical.
- Found a refund cheque from rather a long time ago. Somehow it had got mislaid in the midst of the chaos that was going on in my life at that time. I didn’t even realise I’d not banked it. Phoned the firm and they are sending me a new one so that the bank doesn’t query it. A very welcome discovery and efficient and pleasant customer service as well.
- Had a brainwave and cleared space in the kitchen so that I now have a shelf just for tinned/bottled/dried goods that need using up sooner rather than later. My pantry cupboards are full and this has made the eat-up items very visible. I have no excuse now.
- Started watching Series 2 of All Creatures Great and Small. Very gentle.
- Have sorted something that needed sorting with my state pension. It needed doing before the new tax year and I did it – hooray!
Sweet dreams

Good morning Grey here now but recently we've had virtually every weather you care to mention - on shuffle! Often 3 or 4 varieties per day. What to wear is a constant conundrum!
Highdays - glad you're back to being warm. Such things really make us appreciate our ' normal'
Broomstick - how wonderful to be guided home by an owl and a hare!.
In one of the stormy sessions a panel blew off our new greenhouse roof. ( Not too bad actually. There were tales in the village of whole greenhouses/trampolines/ garden furniture going for a wander) We looked all round the garden, over the fence into the field. No sign. I noticed the next panel didn't seem very secure and was trying to slot it back into place when I realised it was the missing panel. It must have opened like a book and landed so neatly on its neighbour it was invisible! It's now back in place with extra silicone!
I asked DH to chop a few twigs from the cherry tree for me to make my Easter tree. Popped them in a vase with a few inches of water and decorated with eggs, crochet chickens etc. After a couple of days some leaves appeared and then yesterday two of the twigs are covered in beautiful blossom! A very unexpected and very MSE pleasure.
Made a very good egg-free apple cake. Definitely one for the recipe book.
Happy Easter everyone
