It has been a long time since I last posted- over 2 years but think it's the time to start again.
Both sons are now married and both have moved house in last couple of DDIL2 is pregnant and baby due early March so much excitement there.
DH still working but not as much as he was which is good.
I'm still working and job still no better but some of the people are still nice.
For yesterday
1. Chat with both sets of neighbours. We were all told in detail by the 3 and 6 year old girls next door about Christmas and presents. They sounded to have had a magical time.
2. Welsh rarebit for lunch which used up some of the Christmas cheese. I'm glad we both enjoy it as we may be having this a lot in the near future! DH over ordered the cheese.
3. Taking Christmas decorations down but not found it in a rush and cleaning well as I went. Some of the house is now clean and sparkling.
4. Family WhatsApp messages all positive and happy. My sister sent picture of a woodpecker on her lawn.
5. Watching the Traitors with the candles lit.7 -
Hey Villagelife and SSue, lovely to ‘see’ you again.
For yesterday,
C dog delicately picking her way through the frosty grass, her southern Italian roots run deep.
Being a BH the horses were kept in so I went over to the yard to graze mine in hand for a bit, I was well wrapped up but it was bitter out in the open fields so I used my girl as a big old windbreak. She had a turnout rug on over her stable one, just in case she rolled, so stayed toasty warm.
Home and made a Turkey dinner pie of previously frozen leftovers, one of my beloved’s favourites.
Listened to United’s game and we won again.
Late night garden visit, cold, clear night with a halo around the nearly full moon.7 -
NYR not taking computer to bed so for yesterday, mse pleasures
1) friends - lovely colleague called round on the offchance I'd like a walk
2) walks - we walked up Balgay, passing the tree with Christmas decorations
3) sharing food - we invited her to lunch - mince rounds from the butcher (I was too late for a steak round but mince round equally delicious, and still feeling the 'love' from root canal treatment 23rd
4) footie - a double trip, first with drM and Leicester then back for 2nd half of Sunderland game with DrM and MrG
5) warm clothing - much needed for the blustery walk to the pub and back times 220*25 for 2025: 489 / 5007 -

Hello…and waves hello at visitors…new and old alike !Bedtime for me!Up early…and ended up with an early work call so that was all dealt with nice and early. And meant I had the rest of the day not working!Chat to sister this morning.Had some bacon and tatties scones this morning…trying to use up what was in fridge.I made butter! And was ever so chuffed! Sooo easy! Again using up cream that hadn’t been used.Went to cinema with DD2. Stopped at supermarket…I got a bag of mints and my very favourites…it’s daffodil time hurrah!Watched The Housemaid. Oooft!Had a baked potato using up my 15p potatoes and the last of the cheese and onion ( big 15p bag that should last for ages)
Chat to friend on phone.Started to paint my kitchen bookcase. Which is where I keep my many cookery books…and a whole pile of books I’ve picked up for either free or at charity bookshelves in supermarket…so I should really make an effort and read them. Will take a pile down to caravan. Anyway I painted the top two shelves and have replaced the books just before I came upstairs. Three more shelves to do…again using up the pink paint I’d painted my dining room wall with .Also had a huge clear out of drawers before I went to cinema, so will have a bag ready for charity bag collection/ or charity bin drop off once they are back open.It has been cold and frosty here with some big icy puddles in the car parks. And to be a top of 1o tomorrow apparently!! Heating left on timer to come on and off as needed overnight.9 -
Pleasures for today (Friday, confusingly)
1) Not a bad sleep.

4) Survived another shift at work. A man shopper stopped me to say the bakery department was well stocked and thank you for working so hard!
5) Messaged a gutter repair man as that will help with the leaking roof. Also messaged an electrician, but no reply yet.
6) Came home at 6 and smaller son had put the heating on, lit the candles and the kettle was on! He's also cleared his room into a bin bag.
7) Made a salmon tray bake.
8) Watching the Traitors by candlelight.7 -
