5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

For yesterday,
Up early but there was already a message from DB in Oz to say that a few spots of rain had stopped play, powers that be making sure that they get their payday maybe as people were told to stay put and use the bars!
The tree and other decs were taken down but I did leave two sets of twinkly lights up, it’s nice to get everything dusted and put back but do miss the festive decs.
Caught up on all things Ambridge, absences and alibis all being set up!
Roast dinner and then a lazy afternoon reading our books.
The cricket started a bit earlier but we were already snuggled up in bed by then, listening to TMS and aligning it with the pictures being shown, did see DB & DN celebrating Joe’s first four.

SSue, thinking of you. X
The festive decorations are all packed away again for later in the year, and a fair bit of deep cleaning achieved.
Clean bedding for us
Food planning is going okay, I’m cooking up a double batch of brown rice with turmeric, stock cube and vegetables cooked through, for tonight’s build your own and tomorrow's curry.
Bird watching it just can’t be helped as so many out there, starlings, a woodpecker, wren, blue, great and long-tailed t!ts.

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) -5 this morning with a dusting of snow.
3) The gutter man delayed so I stayed in bed a bit.
4) Fourth day at work so it's now my weekend!
5) Roast dinner pie for tea.5 -
Cold cold cold. We had a top of zero today!
Up early.
Doggy stuff then stayed in bed till I finished the book I started yesterday.
A pile of clothes on Vinted. 2 sold already.
Work calls. Three services booked in! Did a load of admin stuff. Printing. Invoice. Mileage.
Then I fell! Full length of myself! Up and an almighty down! Thankfully nothing broken…but probably will be bruised. Got a fright! So I’m having an early night!
Friend called.6 -
Hugs to Suffolk Sue.
MHagster, hope you’re not too bruised.
Well we finally moved today to our temporary rental bungalow at the coast 👏. Not without drama, OHs car wouldn’t start so I headed off but I missed the turning on a route I’ve driven many times before and had a bit of a country detour on the icy roads (it had snowed here). I arrived just after the removal men and OH about an 1.5 hours later. Exhausting day and trying to cram the contents of a 3 bed semi with extension into a 2 bed bungalow is fun! even after all my decluttering.Good job we have a conservatory and garage.
In bed with a throbbing knee and aching back but glad we’re finally here 😊
night all 💤7 -

Mhagster - take it easy and hope you're not too bruised
PaulieHerts hope you enjoy your new temporary home
For yesterday
1. A freezing walk to the bus stop but good walk and as it's across fields far less slippery than the mud has been recently.
2. Day at work not too bad. Patients were all nice.
3. Collected my order from M&S- an advantage of having a good outlet in the hospital, and the trainers and swimming costumes fit. Am ready for my holiday next week.
4. Messaging a friend - she did ask if my flip flops were ready for my holidays as I live in them in the summer.
5. DH picked me up on walk home which was welcome as very cold.
6. Reading my book whilst wrapped up in a blanket to keep warm . House was cold.5 -
Ouchie Mhags, do you have some arnica for the bruising?
Good news PaulieH 🎉
For yesterday,
Bathroom visit early hours and noticed the strange light outside that means we’ve had snow, pretty to look at but bitterly cold.
Rooooot! He’s the only English batsman who has been of much use tbh.
Steady trip into horsey town, did a stocking up shop as things have got a tad low over the festive period, cupboards, freezer etc full up now and we shouldnt need much more than F&V for the rest of the month. Home and made a big pot of soup, will do for lunches for the rest of the week.
The horses had been kept in due to weather so over to see my girl, the main road was ok but side roads pretty rough so took it steady. You couldn’t see any grass and there was snow in the school so I walked my girl up and down the barn for a bit so she could stretch her legs and say hello to her neighbours.
Easy tea of cold meat from Sunday’s roast and spicy wedges, last of the mince pies for afters. Back to normal on UC and only got 3 right!5 -
Morning all.
We are finally home after the last of the seasonal celebrations. Had a great time but have managed to pick up a feverish cold so feeling somewhat under the weather.
'
You've all been busy since I was last here, lovely to see 'new to me' friends and also famiiar faces, and lots to catch up on.
S/sue - a difficult time of year for you, sending a hug, also thinking of DfV at this time of year too.
mhagster - hope you are ok after your fall, can leave you a bit shaky, go steady.
Paulie - so glad you've finally made the move though not without incident!
All back to normal here, son and DIL back to work, middle and little grandson back to school/college, hubby set building for the next play so that just leaves me and oldest grandson still in bed! Unlike him I will be up shortly, just had a cuppa and waiting for cold meds to kick in.
Love this time of year, the calm after the storm.
Some icy weather out so take care whatever you are up to today.4
