Pleasures for last few days
1. Work finished and now on a few days off
2. Chickpea & lentil curry for tea
3. Cuddles with little dog.
4. Complaint letter done to car dealership regarding service plan which apparently doesn’t cover the 2nd service due to mileage even though average mileage correct on documents and wouldn’t release my vehicle until I had paid the service charge.
4. Watched 2 series of runaway on TV app.
5. 2 sales on selling site - a few extra pounds8 -
For yesterday
1. Pavements not too icy and the fields were easy to walk on.
2. Work busy and mainly went ok. Someone went sick which meant it was busy - worked part of my lunch and they are off again tomorrow. At least manager listened and cancelled a patient too and moved another 2 into someone else's clinic rather than me doing it all.
3. Remembered batteries to drop off in recycling pot at work. Been meaning to do it all week.
4. Enjoyed tea and used up lots of old veg.
5. Watching the Traitors.7 -
For yesterday,
Yes SSue, woke up to no snow but still icy, care taken.
Bathrooms cleaned with help of the last in current series of Uncanny podcasts.Long chat with bf, we were both waiting on a loaf to prove.
As always, time spent with my horse. Have felt a tad down this week what with Capt S having to go back to work and it’s a year since we said goodbye to small dog ☹️ so good to busy myself looking after my big girl.
Quiet evening then stayed awake just long enough to listen to J Bethels dismissal, good knock but nowhere near enough to paper over the many cracks.6 -
Morning all 😊
Snow disappeared but still very cold 🥶
Quite cosy in our little bungalow now I’ve blocked up a few draughts, can’t get to grips with the timer on the boiler so using the thermostat which is also on the boiler.
Trying to put my house sale money into easy access savings accounts is proving difficult ☹️
We viewed 2 bungalows yesterday, one of which is unoccupied (recently refurbished) and we really liked and now the owners of our original bungalow have found somewhere to put an offer on! Think we will go with the latest one as there is no chain.
Lunch at our local pub yesterday which was pretty good 🍷
No tv/broadband connection yet so we are watching DVDs of Howard’s Way 🤣 though I did
watch the first half of the Traitors on my iPad.
Have a good day everyone, we’re probably going for a look at the sea and maybe eat at the Pie n Mash shop 😊6 -
Hello. I’m sat with a hot water bottle on my knee and a doggy by my side and the wee electric fire on for a quick blast of heat to warm the room up. I hadn’t realised that I hadn’t clicked the heating on as I was sitting writing .
Cold but not too slippery today. Had a drive through the countryside to meet a new family. I enjoy this drive ( because I know the way!)
Lovely family and then came home to write and I’ve just sent off the first draft. One of three to be written in next few days. They had such a lovely doggy!
Chat to friend. Chat to sister. My dog not quite himself in his non-specific way he gets. Shall keep an eye on him ( which of course I always do)7 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Cold and raining, but not heavily enough to test the new gutters out. The forecast said it would start snowing at 5 and continue for 10-15cm.Just rain so far.
3) My friend couldn't meet me today but I decided to go out anyway and got loads done! First stop was the Columbian cafe for patacones and a pot of tea.
4) Onto Waitrose for a new duvet cover (in the sale), milk and free newspapers.
5) Next to B and Q for mould spray and a bag of compost.
6) I often get reduced pots of herbs from the supermarkets (or free from the Foodshare) and I used my new compost to split them up into separate plants. I now have 36 tiny sage plants!
7) Applied for another job. (2 so far this year). I also applied for some volunteering yesterday.
8) I have been doing some research to see if I can help bigger son buy his first house. I was talking about it with the gutter man yesterday!
9) Going to cook toad in the hole for tea then keep warm and wait for the Traitors.

Finished the new Harlen Coben series, Run Away now that was twists and turns.
I’m not sure any of this is a pleasure, but when you have animals they can have messy times when poorly, and of course I find this on our bed. So changing the bedding not an issue, more of an issue is I can’t wash and dry the duvet same day, and the caravan duvet had met it’s demise and not been replaced yet. Que a 6pm look up of the Ranges stock and then tooing and froing over do we get the cheapest, no we opted for middle of the range perfect. I get it back and unpacked to find the bottom of it has been missed by whatever sewing machine was supposed to finish it. Now in my head I thought I can run the machine over it, but it will be cumbersome, but also having just paid middle range I do think it should be up to standard so, it goes back tomorrow, and we have plenty of fleece to sleep on.
Had to pop to the vets this morning, all done
We decided to do a quick reccy around the charity shops but nothing this time.
Home for lunch.
The whole house is cleaned up.
We popped into Aldi as we were passing this evening with the Duvet debacle, and it was the right time for our bits and bobs, most of it ranged from 75 percent off and some Christmas 29p crisps, and a couple of pet toys marked down to 49p. We were very happy, the rtc meat is now marinated, portioned and frozen down.

2. Posted 2 parcels.
3. Christmas Dec’s all packed up ready to go in loft
4. jacket potato for dinner/tea
5. yet another argument with youngest son who still refuses to seek help for his mental health and his feelings since his motorcycle accident, as he’s an adult I can’t force him, but once he had calmed down I think I got through.5
