Excellent news about the bungalow Paulie!
Up early.Wrote a list and ticked most of it off ( all but top up kindling and logs)
Had a bit of work prep to do…this is going to be a crazy week! But I have to embrace the crazy week in the same way as I accept the quiet fortnight’s when there’s nothing! It stopped raining briefly. So we went to the CP and had a splashy kind of walk…little river was back ( joined up puddles).
Slightly growling! I had put a load of stuff on Vinted and have my settings to drop off at local shop…however apparently this can be overridden and is where the buyer chooses. So last week I had to go into town. Today I had to go to down town Supermarket…fair enough…went on way back from our walk…drop that off in locker…and ggrrrr…there’s another blooming item sold and it’s to go to these same blooming lockers! So I growled! And then had to come home and pack it in a parcel and will then have to go back to down town Supermarket! But not today! It’s not very convenient nor money saving to be back and forth using petrol! For the sake of selling a top for £3.00…so mainly I just growled 😆Had a baked potato with ham and coleslaw for tea.Milder than it’s been today, just very wet and windy. So heating just on for a wee while and I’ll fill my hot water bottles soon and switch it off.I just need to wash my floors and then I’m tidy and ready to start a new week…which will be of much in and outs!Candles on and looks all cosy.7 -

for the weekend
1) singing - new mass setting went well this morning
2) football - Luton won hooray and have watched some good FA cup matches
3) buses (and common sense) - we were going to buy some milk on the way home from church, MrT is right by the bus stop but I thought to check the time - buses 2 minutes or 38 mins and it was raining - we caught the bus
4) best friends - mine turned up unexpectedly lunch time - there was plenty of food and he accepted my invitation then we decluttered 2 past their best before single christmas puds and custard
5) best friend's car - we then went to the big MrT to buy the milk (and other items on the shopping list but not so urgent)20*25 for 2025: 489 / 5006 -
Just off to bed but musing on whether PaulieHerts will remain true to her roots and keep her user name or whether she will change it now she has found her forever home.....

For yesterday
1. DS1 gave us a lift to rugby - he had won a car park season ticket for a season so is making use of it.
2. A win at rugby - been rare this season though we are doing better in Europe rather than league.3. Chat with person sitting next to me. I had assumed an away supporter as he was South African but he was a neutral so he enjoyed the match. South African teams play in a European league so qualify for the European champions cup.
4. DIL1 gave me a book she had enjoyed so that’s going on holiday especially as she doesn’t want it back so I can leave it there.
5. Easy tea of pizza and evening spent reading.7 -
For yesterday,
A quiet day when we weren’t going anywhere or expecting any visitors, outfit of choice was cosy!
Booked a summer holiday 🎉 we are going back to the same seaside village in Dorset and I’m already looking forward to early morning walks along the beach before breakfast in the cafe there, will be all the sweeter because C dog will be with us. She was supposed to come last year but her transport was delayed due to a nasty infection.
Winner winner chicken dinner followed by bread & butter pud.
Next couple of hours were spent laying on the sofa, reading my book and listening to the wind howling around the cottage.
An old Midsomer Murders, candles lit and a glass of wine.

Morning all 😊
Highdays, I’ll stick with my name, not sure if I’m an Essex girl yet 🤣 ( I was actually born and raised in a London suburb).
Roast lamb dinner was good yesterday, looking forward to having a bigger kitchen again! It feels milder today but weather app says wind is making it feel like 0 🥶
OH walked down to the seafront yesterday, it was grey and cold but it’s the sea!
Son’s accounts and house buying admin to do today, also shopping probably at Aldi and maybe check out the local swimming pool.
Have a good day all 😊4 -
Up early.
Chat to sister.
Chat to DD1 in Italy before they head to France tomorrow. Caught up on all their adventures.
Out to work.
Back growling at the lockers in supermarket…however that’s another 3 items sold.Popped into workplace briefly. Quick chatter.
And home… I know it’s slightly past your lunchtime doggy. Had a nice after lunch cuddle.
Then back to work . Most of service number 3 of 4 written…just waiting on some additional information.DD2 and The Fiancé appeared with some takeaway.8 -
My sister posted a lovely post "we don't get many Januaries - start gently, reset gently, light the candles, drink the warm things, and give yourself time to settle in. Don't rush your January'. so today i have been concentrating on enjoying the longest month of the year. 5 good things today
1) the lovely dog-groomer - took doggie at lunch time and he is now shorn and next appointment booked
2) the library - went to work there while doggie at groomer's
3) the new librarian - she's deaf so I learned happy new year - this is the first thing I have signed so I hope it was readable! she signed back thank-you
4) last year's Pascal candle - the provost very kindly gifted it to me as there was a lot left at Easter and it's now flickering away - must remember to light it more often
5) finding a Christmas flapjack I'd forgotten about - now decluttered (ie eaten 😋)
