Welcome Shelits-🤲,
DG for your son's return home and your shared day🫶.
1. Here's another who put laundry out in the sunny bitter cold this morning. Will soon find out how it is.🤞 Remember lifting an aran jumper off the line in SW France one frozen morning and it kept its shape! 😀
2. Last sunset of 2025 was fierce and fiery up on The Gallops.4. Instead of birthday bits, &'s Sarcoma UK fundraiser is well underway.
3. Emporium carpark stuffed this arvo, worse than Christmas, huge delays. Handed in a smart solicitor's carrier with package inside, found on ground beside Doblo.
5. Bin men came and very welcome they were.

Hearing even more extreme EXTREME cold and icy roads+temps forecast, plans changed. No coast.
2026 began first in &'s Aotearoa home town and this lady saw it in:#

For today,
The never underestimated pleasure of a decent nights sleep, wonderful!
Spent the morning at the yard with my big girl, tidied up her forelock and legs, applied frog & sole conditioner to feet and generally cosseted. My young neighbour is away visiting family so checked on his lad and gave him a treat or two, much to the disgust of my girlie who stamped her feet in protest!
Small spend in year-end sales, some of my boot socks have been darned & darned but there is nothing further I can do so ordered three new pairs from the marine condiment shop.
One of my presents from beloved was a three book tome by Edith Wharton, reading and enjoying.
Now watching a TOTP NYE special and singing along with (most) of the songs!
Happy New Year to all that read and post here, all the best for 2026 🎉🍾7 -
Pleasures for today
1. Lovely crisp morning with sunshine, walked little dog and no mud for a change.
2. Met a friend for lunch, she treated me for my recent birthday.
3. Shopping at a local supermarket, they were giving away free potatoes and veg so had my first taste of Brussel sprouts and cabbage this month.
4. Still enjoying my Christmas Tree.
5. In bed as working for next 6 days had a few days off between from Monday to today. Fingers crossed any fireworks don’t wake me.
Wishing you all a Happy & healthy New Year7 -
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2026!Catch you later 🥳7

Happy New Year everyone. 🎉🎉🎉
For yesterday
1) crisp winter days for walking (when wrapped up well which i was!)
2) thoughtfulness - someone has put a sign by the tree in the rose garden at the park inviting people to hang a decoration in memory of a loved one (I did check none were dangerous to animals and all were good!)
3) reaching my litter picking target of 2025 (slightly exceeded and no prizes for guessing my target this year)
4) spending a lovely evening with my DS - we watched mission impossible then last leg and welcomed in the new year twice, once online with DD1 in Netherlands at 11GMT and once with Jools Holland at midnight GMT - DD2 was out enjoying 'the vibe' in Edinburgh
5) opening a bottle of Jura gifted to me a few years ago and saved for a special occasion.
I am reminded again of the poem 'If I had my life to live over' and the line "I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage." so here's to 2026 when I will be burning those pink candles!

Happy New Year everyone 🥂
We were in bed early but the fireworks woke us up so we had a look. They were spectacular but what a lot of money they must cost 🤷♀️ and I do feel for the animals who are frightened and their owners.
Quiet day at home today, more packing for the move on Monday 🤞 and turkey ( from the freezer) roast dinner later.
I had a lovely catch up dog walk and park cafe lunch with my bestie on Tuesday, we hadn’t seen each other for 5 weeks and both needed a hug and words of understanding after upsets over the holiday for both of us 🥰
I also had my final? Swim at my local pool on Tuesday.
Tomorrow I’m meeting my local friend for a catch up at the pub and then OH will join us for lunch.
The weekend will be spent washing bedding, packing and anything else we need to do ready for Monday.
Wishing you all health and happiness for the new year 😊🥰7 -

For yesterday
The house has been cleaned again, I hear it's bad luck to do any cleaning on New Year's Day, now if I can just find something about the cooking as well
We are spending it inside with the animals, with a baileys to celebrate nearer the time, fireworks have been going off since 5pm
Happy New Years and a thank you to this thread for the support of the year.
Feeling positive about the New Year.
A very slumber day mainly snoozetting on the sofa to the various films, and in between making a roast dinner.
Talking of food / feasting, later I’ll make up a little cheese board as I had bruised apples, so apple, figs, celery, with not posh cheese but what we had, ohh and pickles.
All the animals are warm and snoozing, with the birds and foxes fed…

Pleasures for today (New Years Day)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Spent a long time cooking. Huge amount of carrot and lentil soup. All parsnips roast and in the freezer. Venison casserole in the oven.
3) Tidied the house.
4) Watching the Detectorists now. Traitors in on later.
5) Sainsbury's order coming at 10.4 -
Up early .
Went down to CP and met DD2 and The Chap and The Pup. So had a nice walk but oh it was so cold! And I never wore my hat! Brrr! Was good to go and get fresh air though. And drove home the motorway way! Which is quicker but I only went as I knew it wouldn’t be as busy!Had put RTC beef and some RTC sausages in the slow cooker before I left so that was cooking away nicely. And then DD2 et al came back over for NY dinner mark 2 ( we’d already done this with DD1 at weekend) Mashed potatoes ( from 15p bag) carrot and turnip mash ( also 15p) broccoli and cauliflower with RTC puff pastry atop meat. So a cheap and cheerful dinner and they had brought a Vienetta ( classy😆)
They left and dog and I sat for a bit! Then niece has just been on phone the past hour!6
