Lovely news about the possible dog Lainey.
We popped to aldi for some ferret chicken and picked up some fruit and veg.
Popped to the Range, but the plants looked sad.
So we pondered onto the garden centre as we had a voucher for a free tea and coffee which we gladly used.
I did cave to their bedding packs as they had snapdragons, one of my favourites.
I started planting up the front garden and saved some for tomorrow, of course.
The house is vaguely clean.

Quick pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son finished the IT course!
3) I went to the coffee morning and lost 2 games of chess.
4) Survived another shift at work. I could do little work as everything broke.
5) Watching television. I recognised the lady's house on Gardeners World as I had delivered election leaflets there!5 -

Firth, Congrats to both smaller son on passing, and of course the smaller energy bill.
What amazing weather, I’m wearing a skirt so bright with sequins I was attracting bees, while planting up the front garden pots and border.
Picked up some of the bird balls, and a pack has gone already, watching the starlings enjoy themselves and slashing about in the bird bath and then cooling off, we’ve refilled the bird bath twice today…
Watching the front of the house where we get nuthatches and goldfinches, but out the back of the house which also backs onto woodland, luckily for us, it’s different.
Leftovers for lunch and snacks.
That clean bedding feeling for us tonight, made with the help of Rhubarb the ferret, Navy fleece is his favourite bedding set, he’ll be found asleep in it later no doubt.
I’ve been given a fifty percent off code that works, for groceries on Deliveroo, but of course everything is far more expensive than I would ever buy, but with the code maybe it’s worth a try, the jury is out, has anyone tried it?

For the weekend.
Saturday…early swim but got too busy. Was out in garden and ended up having too much sun, so felt a bit blah later on.
Sunday…bought some new big pots and compost and planted some veg seeds. See how they go!Not as hot which was better for me!
Nice chat with DD1 who had called to wish me a happy Mother’s Day ( as it is in Australia)
Did a bit of work for upcoming service and prep for work today. There’s a lovely cool breeze this morning, most welcome to air the house!Have a good day.5 -
Weekend pleasures,I am waking up so early nowadays and it’s a good time for reading, slow start to the day.
Made a loaf, light wholemeal with seeds.
A jug of purple tulips on the table.
Sitting on my big box outside girlie’s stable chatting to other owners and they were enchanted to see her rest her head on the top of mine, she’s already a firm favourite.
Watching the first series of Black Snow, good to have some back story to what happened in the second one.
Lots of time spent in the garden, grass was cut and a Wisteria planted. There was also lots of sitting under the parasol.
Lovely food, summer pudding, carrot cake, strawberries and clotted cream, not all at the same time mind!
There was a home visit and approval given for a new friend. She will be coming on the happy bus from Italy and with us for the BH weekend. More details to follow but she is an adult dog that was surrendered because her original home decided that they now wanted a puppy instead! Like to think that small dog would approve.6 -
Up early this morning, have a bit of a scratchy throat…I don’t have time for scratchy throats! Was a tad breezy most of the day…in a warm kind of way.Out to work this morning. Met another new family. Who are lovely. It always amazes me how I am welcomed into peoples lives.
Stopped at old work on way home and had a baked potato for my lunch,
Hello doggy, it’s your lunch time. Hung out the washing and then sat at the table and wrote and wrote!Niece called so had a chat with her then back to it!I get to a stage where my eyes start to cross and I make silly spelling mistakes and I know I’m near the end! Sent that off and I then await feedback…the hardest part of the whole process I think!Quick chat with DD2 as my dinner was cooking.Texts back and forth with friends…making sure I send the right one to the right person 😆
And garden watered and up to bed!And a wee edit to say I just had lovely feedback so I’ll sleep better tonight knowing that!3 -
Morning all 😊We’re on our retirement holidays again, enjoying the sunshine at Walton on the Naze. It’s only about 1.75 hours from home and is in the area we are looking to move to. Beautiful day sitting and strolling on the Naze. We are staying in a caravan for 4 nights ( booked a basic one and got up graded! first time ever 🤣). It is so peaceful here and we enjoyed an early evening stroll looking over the backwaters. My sister is coming down for the day today. Meeting an old friend for dinner tomorrow and other friends at her beach hut on Thursday. We are so lucky with the weather again this week ☀️
have a great day everyone 😊6
