Morning all.

Frith - all being well your lad will get the result he wants but either way he is doing amazingly well.
Paulie - lovely photos, you have been to places that are on my wish list and more so now.

We don't seem to have done anything very exciting recently, it's a bit 'the calm before the storm' as we have a busy summer lined up but nevertheless there are pleasures:

1) The big, old lilac tree on our boundary with next door is a total delight. It keeps its secret for most of the year but when it is in flower you can see that about two thirds of it are purple and one third white. Can't decide which I prefer.

2) Son and DIL have jetted off for a few days so we are 'in charge'. Mainly school runs and sorting uniforms and packed lunches but also some clearing up of building stuff and trips to the tip and getting sorted. Lots of snuggles and whispered conversations at little fella's bedtime, just wonderful cuddling a bathed and sleepy little boy, melts my heart every time. 
 
3) Took middle and little grandsons out for tea and to the cinema last night, lovely to spend time with them but snoozed during The Minecraft Movie, can't have really been my kind of thing but they loved it.

4) Weather forecast looks good for the weekend and into next week so will have a relax, hopefully sitting in the garden, when the boys go to their mum for the weekend.

5) Starting to prepare for our trip down to Devon next week, really looking forward to revisiting old haunts, we used to go to the South Hams every year when my bairn was a youngster and haven't been back for far too long.

Right, off to enjoy the peace of a quiet house before middle grandson comes back from college at lunchtime.

Hello. Yesterday I had to go over to DD2 house to wait for a delivery. Then came home and worked. Sat and wrote service script. Had an early night as my foot/ Achilles is on the rampage with plantar fasciitis…been fine for so long and now acting up! 

Today. I was up early and down at CP for 8.30am. Beautiful walk with the dog. Was in swimming at 9am ( heated outdoor pool below a mansion house…blue sky and birdsong…perfect) just me for first 20 minutes then others came in. Back to caravan for a shower. Left at midday. 

Came home via charity shop I like at opposite end of town. Got a lovely brand new blue linen dress, 2 polo neck tops ( for cooler caravan nights) , a 

brand new jumper and a wee toadstool mug with a lid for caravan ( I have another similar one I was given as a gift) my caravan ‘theme’ is nature.

Home. Chat to sister.

Towels and swimming costume washed, dried and bag packed! 

Pup returned from his walk…he had been ‘in ‘ something. She had taken him home and washed him 3 times but he was still stinky! So he wasn’t allowed in my house till he was completely dry! So we sat out in the garden! 

DD2 and Smelly Boy staying here tonight. 

Got another job booked in.

Pleasures for today (Thursday)

1) Not a bad sleep.

2) Smaller son did the penultimate day of his IT course. 

3) I tidied up, filled some dart holes in the plaster..., made a cooked breakfast. 

4) Smaller son had his interview. Today we learned it was a chatty interview and might lead to the proper interview. This is the third interview he has had for this post - a bit silly really! He didn't feel particularly pleased afterwards. One interviewer didn't introduce himself (sounds like my job!)

5) Smaller son started a new batch of beer yesterday and that is fermenting nicely. 

6) We put a blackout blind with suckers up at my window - the sort you would take with you if you were staying in a hotel. You can see well enough to read in my room by about 6am. It wasn't quite wide enough so we've blocked the extra with pillows. It probably looks like a meth lab from the outside! 

7) Speaking of which, ate pizza and watched another episode of Breaking Bad. 

8) Messaged the tiler for a dining room floor quote.

Picked up the daily mirror for its national trust voucher, will read it and it will finish it’s lifecycle as litter tray liner

We finally got a tip run booked in, it’s been cluttering up the walkway down the side of the house for so long, and we did the tip run hooray for finally getting rid of it.

We had to pick up 2 concrete gravel boards to put in before putting the fence panels back in, we put the  panted and dried panels back in, yes there was cussing. We took out the  3 remaining panels, which are smaller no swearing there, everything is all done just waiting for them to dry before popping them back in.

Spaghetti bolognaise for tea.

Just wrapped up DH’s gifts for tomorrow, and about to decorate his Christmas cake.

 

DH enjoyed the morning with a bacon sarnie, followed by opening a couple of presents with help from Fuse and Nala.

We went out to a local country park we’ve not been to before and took a long walk around the lakes, we saw 2 kingfishers!!! A high for me, dragon flies everywhere and we had a decent long walk burning calories prior to the birthday cake.

Pleasantly surprised at my cake, worried it looks a bit to homemade but it tastes great.

Just ordered in and it was lovely.

had several appointments re increased angina etc .
had an angiogram last week and relieved no need for surgery yet ,more drugs added,fingers crossed they seem to be helping .
so pleasures all medical and family who rallied round ferrying to and from hospital and staying nights as necessary.

Some recent pleasures,

A quiet’ish week as I’ve had some dental pain, was worried that I had an abscess brewing but some Oil of Cloves seems to have calmed it down 🤞

Goldfinches stripping the heads off the fluffy dandelions.

More birds, this time the woodpecker who is getting brave enough now to come down and have a drink from the water feature.

Chats with friends and arrangements made to meet up.

60% cocoa chocolate covered cherries, my new favourite thing and suckable as per #1

My beloved’s footie team have got through to their European final, being a typical Spurs fan he wouldn’t believe it until they were into injury time and up by 4 goals!

There is a rescue dog that we like the look of and have a home check this weekend, if all goes well she will be on the happy bus coming over from Italy later this month.
