Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went into town a.m. Looked round the charity shops and found a White Stuff t shirt for bigger son. He is quite pleased with it.
3) Took my magazine to M and S cafe and sat there for a bit and texted a few friends.
4) Went to Boots for some hair bands. I've gone from a 4.5 with the clippers to a tiny little pony tail in 10 months! Smaller son said, "You look like bloody Jack Sparrow"!
5) Back to Topps Tiles to get another 15m square to do another room (as and when I can afford it). 10% discount.
6) Smaller son helped me smash an old kitchen cupboard up. It had moved from the kitchen to the garage and has now progressed to the boot of my car ready for the tip.
7) I worked on the little front garden, tidying up and weeding. I had to get the hosepipe on it (first time ever) as it was just dust. I can't remember when it last really rained.
8) I ran my CV through ChatGPT and it came up with some good changes.
9) Made broccoli and pasta cheese for tea. Used yesterday's chicken tikka plus salad for wraps for lunch.
10) Watched the final episode of Breaking Bad with smaller son.
11) Playing chess online this evening.4 -
Evening all.
Just heading off to bed before we set off on our jollies in the morning.
Quick pleasures:
1) Son is back from his holiday, had a good time and looks tanned and relaxed. Handover of his boys, his house, etc.
2) We had a walk today and a big chat and catch up.
3) Packing done and the car loaded up, just last-minute stuff to go in and we are off.
4) Very good forecast for the next week in Devon, fingers crossed it stays that way.
5) House clean and tidy to come back to, luckily it was a lot cooler here today so not too arduous a job.
Right, hope everyone has a good week, I'll catch up next weekend.

Good morning. Another sunny day but not as warm lately. No rain for about a month though. Farmers must be in despair.
@topsyturphy Great to hear about son's Bournemouth trip. So glad you both had something to smile about. I bet your grin was as big as his!
Lately
Sorted out summer clothes. Lots only really fit for housework - and I don't do that much housework! I decided to use the criterion ' Would I pack it for a holiday?' . Sadly the answer for most things was 'No!'. So a lot has gone to charity shop ( good but I don't like it/ doesn't fit) or rags for the garage. To be honest, unless I go on a four week cruise, there's plenty left.
Bought plants for the manger/ hanging baskets and about half planted up. Looking very pretty but needing lots of watering.
DH has a new phone which needed almost more patience than we had to set up! The 'put old phone next to new phone and it transfers by magic' only half worked. But we got there. And we're still married!
Good news from DH hospital trip so we had fish and chips for lunch ( the hospital park and ride is right next to our favourite restaurant so we had to, really)
Happy 🌞day everyone6 -
Pleased to read that the news was positive HappyCas
For the last few days,
Baby sparrows being fed on our garden path.
My favourite beech tree is now in full leaf and you can barely see blue sky through its canopy.
Finally swapping out my handbag to straw summer one, nothing is guaranteed to bring on the rain more.
An evening meal out with my friends, the intended venue had outside seating only which was situated in a wind tunnel so we politely refused and headed to the nearest Italian, pizza and catching up on lives.
Woke up to a much colder day and it was chilly out in the paddocks but girlie was snug in her dry fly rug, I was pleased to have a coat on!
Very sleepy after lunch so nap on sofa.
Cauliflower Cheese for tea.
Belly laughs at the extended version of HIGNFY.

Currently upstairs reading in the shady side of the house as downstairs is a tad warm.
Up early ish.
Didn’t go out for a swim this morning. It eats up a chunk of time and I wanted to do stuff in the house.Got some paint for a new project.
Started a new library book.Sat out for a wee bit but then back in as far too warm. Then back out when there was a shady section to sit in. I’m really quite pathetic in the heat 😆
Pup dropped off then picked up again.Just been reading mainly!5 -
