Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to art class.
3) Our new manager (5 weeks) had a big row with a colleague and has left for another branch. Maybe his replacement will actually do some managing and ask our names! A colleague on our department has left (here 5 weeks) and won't be replaced. They've asked us all to do her hours. We've all said no. Anyway, I survived another shift.
4) Cut the lawn, tidied up, washing machine on etc.
5) Had to run down the garden to get the mower as it's finally raining! Not enough, but better than nothing.6 -
It's quiet!
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Builders merchant to get some edging for the garden.
3) Had a cup of tea with my friend in Dunelm.
4) Went to Waitrose for the free paper.
5) Spent a couple of hours putting the edging in the garden.
6) Did 2 loads of washing and plenty of tidying up.
7) Helped smaller son apply for one job and one apprenticeship.5 -

Good morning!Well yesterday turned out a little bit crazy!Up early. Watered garden. Got ready for work.
Worked. Lovely service. And got lovely feedback from.Popped into work place on way back as I’d had a missed call. New service booked.Home. Hello doggy! ( other doggy out on his walk)
Sat in garden…thought I’ll start my new library book and just relax…
Another work call, from a different work place and could I do a service which turns out to be the same day as the one I’m already doing. Yes , I’ve done it before.Trying to arrange times to meet these new families and back and forth with the second one and I said ‘are you free just now and I’ll come over?’Long story wee bit shorter, they were, it was a rush hour, there was a broken down bus on a bend and traffic was tailed so far back and inching forward literally inches at a time. Took me about 35 minutes for a 20 minute drive, it was hot, my nose started bleeding and would not stop! ( like a wee cut at side not an actual nose bleed) so I had to say hello can I please wash my hands! As soon as I got there all hot and bothered and sticky!Anyway lovely family. Glad I fitted them in as my today plans got even busier!
Home via DD2 ( are you in I need a wee!) so quick 20minutes at theirs. Then aaaahh hello doggy and then a huge chat to friend on phone.Watched the sunset and listened to the birds. And it’s to be another lovely day ( of which I’ll be sat writing for a chunk of it) so I’m about to head off to CP and enjoy the fresh air and walk dog and then enjoy a swim!Have a lovely day6 -
Good morning. Another sunny day. Everything washable has been washed. The new garden chairs have been well used. And we keep running out of ice cream! I love it. But it's Bank Holiday this weekend so I suppose that will be the end of that!
Lots of gardening too. I've planted the pots and planters and they all look lovely if I say so myself. Lots of watering needed but this early in the year, it's a chore I enjoy. Early evening, wandering round with my watering can, I feel like someone in an Agatha Christie novel. I need a trug😂
Meals are either salad or stir fry. Lots of lovely fresh stuff around, and it's too hot to cook properly. And fruit and cream or ice cream for afters. Oh, I was born to live somewhere hot!
Mercy dash yesterday to see DGD. She was convinced she'd failed Eng Lit because she'd messed up one question. If course, I don't know whether she did or not but I doubt it very much. Talked her down though because there's another two weeks of exams so she can't start panicking yet!
Going to have my nails done today. My nails are dreadful, all ridged and break if you look at them. I used to have them done regularly but stopped during lockdown and then my manicurist moved to Northumberland so I let it go. Anyway, this is a new one opened in a nearby farm so I'm going to try it out. It's down little back lanes so I'm having to be brave about driving too! I'll let you know how it goes!
Happy 🌞 🌞 day everyone

For the last couple of days,
Progress in the garden, hostas planted and happy in the shade by the water feature.
Still no rain and ground so hard that the new bed I’d planned can’t be dug out so hardy fuchsias now have a temporary home in a pot.
Baby birds doing their practice flights from hedge to hedge.
New shoes for my equine pal.
Digging out my copy of the Old Apple Tree by S Hill and re-reading the section on Spring.
Meeting my friend at the yard as she was letting me have her old hay cube for girlie’s field.
Sat on it and had a chat, it was my girl’s 13th birthday so she had a suitable amount of carrots and apples.
Home, quick change and then off to Uni City for a haircut.
Back home again and the best of the day with lots of late sunshine.
HM chicken burgers and wedges for tea after missing lunch.5 -
Bedtime.
Up early and down to CP.
We had a lovely walk and then I was in pool at 9am. Nice chatter. Had to set alarm for 10am as I had to get back home to do some work as I was going back out again to do some work! Then home from that and continued with work. Sent off words…the usual anxious wait and then lovely feedback! Phew!Another lovely day…rain is on its way. As is cooler weather! Bah.7 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did an online training course associated with the job I'm applying for.
3) Went to look round the job place again, with smaller son this time. Chatted to one of the resident artists and saw the canal runs right behind.
4) Applied for the job! Probably took 10 hours to write a CV and covering letter altogether. Also looked round twice so another few hours there.
5) Started taking up the dining room floor.
6) The job immediately phoned me! They just wanted to know if I have a driving licence.
7) Bigger son came round.
8) Watched the Europa final.
9) Watching Race Across the World now.5 -
Packed up the “van of love” and I looking forward to this break far more than I should be yes but so be it
We had to go to a met, I enjoyed a few mins overlooking a lake before it showered, so I popped into the Greggs to use the facilities.
Picked up 2 books that I had been on the lookout for, for a pound at a CS. I resisted the 10 books or DVDs for a pound as I just couldn’t make it to that.
Mesmerised watching the woodpecker drink and bathe, it’s eating a lot now.
Giving Daim a lot of cuddles, but she’s feeling Fizzers loss hoping we can do enough to keep her interested but she’s already the oldest girl, but paws crossed.

3. The wonderful care pre- and post- last week's MRI at BROH.
