5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Morning all.
Still lovely and sunny but noticeably cooler in our neck of the woods.
Recent pleasures:
1) Enjoying the lovely sunshine, felt like a bonus holiday.
2) My book display at the library was apparently very popular and I have been asked to make more suggestions for another one. Very flattering, alongside the display they made booklets of my choices titled 'Mrs Happydays Recommends' - fame at last!
3) Done a bit more of the dreaded wardrobe sorting, trying to be ruthless as I don't any longer do decorating so no longer need to keep stacks of old clothes for decorating in. Sounds very logical but getting rid goes against the grain somewhat. Anyway, progress is being made and I'm redicovering things I'd forgotten I had along the way.
4) A big pleasure is having nice meals tucked away in the freezer for the 'can't be bothered to cook' days. We still eat well but with minimal effort.
5) A quiet Bank Holiday for us, we tend to get out and about when it's not so busy. So catching up on some home jobs, some sorting and a lot of reading. Lovely!
Hope you have a good day and enjoy the holiday weekend.

We made the hardest decision at the vets for Fizzers, yesterday, as all else had failed. We laid her to rest alongside her cage mate Freddo in the garden, drenched with crocus bulbs, safe to say a few hearts hurt today.
For today, we took Fizzers friend Daim out for a distracting walk.
I couldn’t face our home-made healthy food, so I dug about in the freezer to defrost chill rolls to go with a burger and some chips and onion rings.
The animals pulling out all the stops to make us smile, and when we can’t, curling up on us.
Watering the garden seems to be therapeutic.

Awh sorry to read that PK .
Up early and decided just to be up and at ‘em. I don’t like it when I doze off again.
So I’ve been very productive today!Cleaned three bathrooms. Hoovered whole house.Painted my porch.Hoovered the car and washed the car and if any birds poop on it I’ll not be happy!
Made a chilli and enjoyed it!
Did a bit of work prep for tomorrow and then for Tuesday.Watched the new STV/ITV drama as I painted . Did the little bit of ironing that was there. And had doggy cuddles in between!6 -

Good morning. Bright again but , blimey, it's cold!
Purple Kitten - sad to hear about Fizzers x
A good weekend
Saturday visited DS and family. DGS is 11 so we took his gifts round and stayed for a fish and chip tea. Then played with some of his new games. A lovely teatime.
Sunday went for breakfast with DD and DSiL to a trendy cafe in the next town. I had mixed mushrooms and spinach in a garlicky sauce on sour dough toast. DD had something involving eggs and avocado. You get the picture! Though DH had a traditional cooked breakfast!
Although it's much colder here, it's still dry and bright so I'm still washing everything that's not nailed down. Though some of the washed and put away things have had to be brought back into service, like throws and my warmer anorak!
Started watching Conclave last night. I read the book not long ago and am loving the film. With such good actors it couldn't go far wrong. And having grown up in a Methodist household, I'm fascinated by all the ins and outs of the papal election system.
Won't be going far today if anywhere at all. Like @Highdays, we're now lucky enough to go out on less busy days!
Happy Bank Holiday everyone

Hello again.
Ahh, PK, just popped by to see if you had an update and so sorry to read your sad news. You really are having a rough first half of the year, hope it improves for you and things settle down a bit now. Take it easy and go steady.
Hope the sun is shining for everyone.4 -

I saw Conclave at the cinema HappyCas and thoroughly enjoyed it.
For the last few days,
Warm weather, chilly weather, showers, breezes and still, calm evenings, we have such a good variety of weather here in the UK!
Lots of time spent in the garden, two clematis planted in the space left by the old willow tree although that is now sprouting from the stump ☺️Fed my herbs and everything is growing well, I enjoy adding fresh to meals.
Binge watched I, Jack Wright, very good but left on a cliff edge.
Lots of reading, mostly Christie, now on The Secret of Chimneys. So many candle blossoms on the chestnut trees, both cream and pink.
Breakfast at the farm shop and enjoyed a snorkers bap.
Finally decided to buy a Wisteria to grow up the south facing side of the cottage, followed Monty’s advice and picked one which already had flowers on. Purple as they will glow against the light brick.4 -
Oh Purple kitten - Owch - it is hard.Bizzarely I associate parades pipes & drums with bereavement so the whole VE stuff seems wholly fitting, somehow.4
