I woke up feeling so low, so we ate porridge out in the garden and spent some time outside, and I tried to push it away as she wouldn’t want me to mope, and I know we did all we could, life’s too short, especially for them. I spent a long time in the garden planting up various seeds and labelling them up for the foxe's fun. I also planted some seeds in the front garden, treated the roses that had some sort of bug, and watered them with feed.
We went hunting for marzipan as I’m making DH his favourite cake for his milestone birthday. which is basically a Christmas cake, I do not like marzipan, so I last two times I shopped I literally don’t look for it naturally, so we went out to 3 different places and none of them had any, so I’ve put an Ocado order together as we have free delivery, I could do Mr T delivery as in theory they have it, but they didn’t in store and I don’t trust them to deliver what’s ordered. I’ve cooked up his cake today in case I need to add a cake to the order.
Seemed to do a lot in the kitchen, made salads, grated up a large amount of cheese for the freezer and washed up the evidence of the cake making
Dinner was the homemade lasagne with greenery, decided to move making scones to tomorrow because well they will be fresh then not I cba today.
Hoping I've done enough to tire myself out tonight :-)

@Purple_kitten - So sorry to hear about Fizzers. You can hear the hurt and love for your ferrets in your posts. Take care of yourselves. Let your other ferrets help you get through it. Sending many hugs.6

Pleasures for Monday
1. Seeing the Red Arrows flying into London.
2. Catching up with Grace.
3. The intermittent sunshine.
4. Roast Chicken Dinner.
5. Ds2 went out to meet friends.6 -
The Ocado order arrived, and I got on and marzipaned the cake immediately.
We took out of the fence panels, I make that sound easy when it wasn’t, we lifted 6 foot fence panels in the air taller than I am and quite frankly swore a lot, I painted both sides, while DH got on with fixing and painting a panel, it took all day to get 2 coats on both sides of 4 panels, and I’m shattered, they aren’t back in yet as still drying.
Tidied and then cooked up chop and veg with pepper sauce.
About to cook up some mince, that I had bought for Fizzers to tempt her, so cooking it up as bolognaise for tomorrow, thank you for the kind words, it is hurting, we are trying to wear ourselves out.

You know we all understand, PK🫶🤲, many of us with parallel sadness. Birthday wishes to your OH for his significant number of🎂 years.
1. Happy services last Sunday, including village worship in the afternoon.
2. All the glories of Reach Fair yesterday, which still felt chilly, despite sun. Numbers rose through the day, 'cos Reach Fair IS Reach Fair, chartered in 1201, running continuously since 1275.
3. Good 2 miles walked each way from another village as road is closed to vehicles on this special day. Quite right, too.
4. Decent vin rouge, ditto can+lovely soap won in various fundraising tombolas. So glad decent sums accrued after slow starts.
5. Recognised at local woodturners' stall and delighted by lovely turned pens@£1 apiece, an apple and a spurtle.....since you asked,😃. They're all fabulous.

Hello…just in from watering the plants and enjoying the cool air and the blackbirds singing.Monday : Yesterday I had a very big service to do. It has been an honour to work with this family and they have a wee bit of my heart. The service went very well. So much positive feedback for what is of course a very sad occasion. But just the best tribute to a very special person. When I asked his mum what he would have thought, she said ‘he’d have loved it!’ and you don’t get much better than that.I had very kindly been invited to the tea afterwards so popped along for a wee while. More lovely feedback.I went to the caravan afterwards and spent the night there. I had taken leftover chilli with me and cooked some rice there…I do like caravan cooking! Went to bed early and woke up blooming freezing! Had a lovely sunrise walk…just us and the birds. Shoved clothes on and came home about 9am.Came home and found the cistern had been ‘running’ all night…grr and when I went to step in the shower discovered it was absolutely freezing water! So had to chuck something on to go out into garage, find the wee video on my phone from 5 years ago of son demonstrating how to restart boiler! Anyway problem resolved and warm water was enjoyed. And then back out to work to meet a new family.Home via supermarket. Having Tuesday Tea birthday stylee for friend. So had lots of nibble bits …I hit the RTC fridge! Had some bits and pieces to use up from my own fridge and had a very nice tea. Bought cheapy cupcakes (99p) as didn’t have time to bake. And piped some cream and popped strawberries on top and party ring biscuits. And they looked fine! A rendition of happy birthday sang!Had to pop down to return something to yesterday’s family and was given a very lovely gift of beautiful flowers. And such nice words written in the card. We’ve had 2 nice days. Not too warm but just right for me!5

Morning all 😊Caught up with your pleasures 😊
Had a wonderful week in beautiful Herefordshire with OH. Lovely weather, great accommodation (an apple loft) , wonderful scenery, interesting towns and castles, good food ….
On Friday we drove onto Tenby and I stayed in friends luxury caravan overlooking Lyddstep beach along with another friend (met at college 50 years ago). We went to lovely places , castles, walled gardens , beaches and had lovely food and lots of tea and cake! We chatted for hours catching up on long gaps in the last 50 years and had a video call with 2 other College friends in Australia.
On Monday we met up with OH who had been staying in a B&B in Tenby and had a boat trip and a lovely day on Caldey Island, again in the sunshine.
We drove to friends bungalow for the night and then drove home yesterday via Reading to drop other friend off.
Back home now and need to catch up with washing and everyday life before we’re off for a few days again on Monday. We’re enjoying our joint retirement!
Have a good day everyone 😊3 -
PaulieHerts - bigger son was camping in Tenby last weekend.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son has one day of his IT course to go!
3) Did loads of jobs round the place. Cleaned floors, hosed down the furniture from cleaning out the garage, went to the tip, started pulling up the old tiles in the dining room.
4) Bigger son came round on his new bike. He's given up trying to save his front teeth (smashed off in 2020) and will have the other big one out (half a tooth that keeps being rebuilt) and the incisor next to it that was pushed out of place and keeps getting infected. He'll then have 3 spaces in a row (!) and will have a plate again.
5) I have paid off my debt to Eon so that payment will go down by £40 each month.
6) Had a Chinese takeaway for tea.
7) About to watch Race Across the World.
8) Smaller son has an interview tomorrow for an IT apprenticeship !!!!!!4
