can't believe my Sunday is nearly over
1) bathed the dog - he's got an itchy ear but let me wash it so that's good so #1 is my doggie
2) filled the empty bird coconut half with melted lamb fat and seeds so #2 is mse bird feeding
3) and still made it in time for choir rehearsal. which was good as was the service and the congregational meeting after and the lift home in the rain hooray so #3 is as always music
4) back for 3:30 for rehearsal for choral evensong - sandars responses and RVW Magnificat and Nunc - love RVW - can i have another music for #4?
5) called in at the pub on the way home - too late for the footie and DrM had left for supper but Mr and Mrs G there and another couple so stopped for a drink and a natter so #5 is friends
(and we don't mention the football anyway! Who on earth would be a Luton / Leicester supporter this season?!)

Perhaps they sense spring is in the air Frith?
For yesterday,
Bit of a lie-in and reading in bed.
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.
The weather was a bit poo for gardening so we finally did a sort out of our books, we have various bookcases dotted around the cottage with no cohesion whatsoever. Now all authors are grouped together and we have a large pile for rehoming, including the complete series of the Ruth Galloway books by E Griffiths as I just don’t think that we will read them again. Will see if the cattery in the village wants them as they sell for charity, if not will start to distribute them amongst the various ones in horsey town.
Made a beef stew and that bubbled away happily until we were ready to eat, too full for pud.
We walked down the lane with the wheelie bin, the wind had really got up and was noisy all evening, cosy at home though.

I’m sorry to laugh @Frith, but your post really cheered me up! I’m glad you are not wasting your time with these Unsuitable Gentlemen, and that you are keeping your sense of humour. I’m sure the perfect chap is out there for you somewhere, I hope you find each other, and I hope he treasures you.
My pleasures for today:
1) The sunshine! A beautiful sunny day despite the forecast predicting rain and wind.
2) As a result of (1), visited my younger daughter and took her out for lunch with 3 year old granddaughter and baby grandson. We walked to a community cafe in a park near her house, and the first pleasure was helping granddaughter collect ‘treasures’ (sticks, feathers, stones, leaves, NOT THAT ONE IT’S DOG POO!!) along the way, and joining her in jumping and splashing in puddles. I should have worn wellies, but it was such fun.
3) The community cafe has a Pay As You Feel lunch, with an added opportunity to make a small donation to their free lunch scheme for those who need it. They keep a little bowl of wooden heart tokens next to the till, and anyone needing a hot drink or a meal but not having the funds just orders as usual but picks up a heart token and hands it over unobtrusively as payment, no questions asked, no judgement, no attention drawn to it. Such a fabulous, kind idea. Our two delicious chickpea curries and some scrambled egg on toast for little granddaughter (including drinks) would normally have cost £12 so handing over £20 and asking them to keep the change made me very happy. Such a simple and unpressured way to pay it forward.
4) After lunch, on the walk back to my daughter’s house, small granddaughter carefully took the treasures she had collected out of her bag one at a time, and gently placed each one on someone’s wall or driveway, explaining she was gifting a treasure to each house. Unbearably cute!5) Back in my own home now, with my big affectionate lump of a dog lying on my feet as I type this. You’re never alone with a German Wirehaired Pointer - I swear he’s not even a proper dog, he’s really a small human in a hairy suit.8 -

What a handsome boy CJ ! How old is he?Rubbish sleep. So was glad to get up.I had work this morning. It was a very busy service. I am now taking a week or so off work. Which means I probably won’t have anything booked in for a couple of weeks but I’m okay with that.
Popped into old work for a fruit scone. And a blether. And some wax for my table!Bought some pansies as my ‘nice thing ‘ after work. And hello doggy! It was a beautifully bright day with a very cold wind but beautifully bright is much preferable to absolutely lashing down which it turned into at 4.30pm oh my goodness!Washing almost dried on the line and thank goodness I’d brought it in!Quick chat to sister.Quick chat to DD2 on her lunch break.Texts back and forth with niece.Mobile library…chat with library chap and then neighbour/ friend.
Then in for half an hour and then out for massage of the ouchy kind. Which was much needed.Home and thank goodness I got in just before it started lashing again.Had cheese on toast and banana on another bit of toast!8 -
Frith, I’m sorry, I did laugh out loud at your post, and your description seems to be me..There must be err love on the horizon…
CJ, He looks like doggie gentry.
I think I might just see if I can not tune into the news for the week this week, or in fact long term hmmm.
1 I’ve been trying to get onto the triage list for a doctor’s appointment but no joy recently, it’s a first at least I’ve not had an issue before.
2 Face pack/hair pack going on the memories of my mum’s advice but other than at least being presentable no joy in shifting the poorly.
3 Popped to aldi for the weeks shop, no reductions this time around.
4 I’ve fallen down an internet hole into researching courses and discovered somewhere that doesn’t look scamish.
5 Saving this for easier times.

I should say that man number 1 (tea drinking man) is actually very decent. The ex (man 2) has stepped up his weirdness and will be blocked again shortly.
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) A slightly better sleep.
2) Had a lift to art club. I painted a heron and a little bird.
3) Took smaller son to Morrisons.
4) Smaller son had to do maths, English and IT tests to get onto his level 2 IT course. He got 97% so just has a phone interview to go. He cannot talk on the phone so I'm not sure what is going to happen there. The course is Monday - Friday, 10 - 4 for 8 weeks.
5) Had a proper tidy up, did washing, put some plants in the garden.
6) Talked to my school friend for about 2.5 hours.
7) The possible replacement jobs at work (guaranteed an interview) have been awful hours so far (3am starts) but some more jobs in a different role have come up. I have no work experience in that line at all but will apply.6 -
