Finally back in Town of Horse. Messy day, but.....
1. Yesterday's osps somehow overlooked major baking Monday. The mucky 'nanas became cake, as did ageing carrots+mango purée(didn't have crushed pineapple ingredient). Both are moist, 😋super lush😋, and beautiful, says & immodestly.😁 14 jars Scrumdown Marmalade also done - lime/lemon/Seville,👌. Finally, puff pastry, rtc mushrooms+celery, plus all sorts of use-ups: ham/bacon/chipolata/sausage/mortadella/cream cheese/h-g garlic, egg, leek, herby bits=a delicious savoury pie. Shopping list cinnamon and coffee actually remembered and bought at distant Fenny emporium, cappuccino thus taken afar.2. DD, well done on the found 5p. Stepped on one in🏉club kitchen last night, told to keep it. M remembered &'s pocket of change rolling all over the floor weeks ago, so.... o.k.😁3. Hearing Afghanistan defeat Albion in that Must Win 🏏match. Glad for them and for Jonathan Trott. Baggy Greens next. More importantly, the ICC must find some verbal gumption with the taliban😡+🙏.4. Today's To Do's mostly done, which also meant much getting drenched. Try again next week for important 'Wednesdays only' appt.5. Flooding everywhere so last night's bucket of leftover training food, macaroni cheese, will be with duckies tmrw. & was one of 4 vehicles turned back from low overhead railway bridge -Lainey will know it - as stupid motorist ahead went way too fast into floody waters and killed his car. No-one could get through. Water was much deeper en route in, but We, The Sensibles, prevailed then.#
Bed, LUNETTES, new2& book and hwb by 21h, with any luck.
Oh, how did those rtc eclairs jump into &'s trolley.....????🤔

Hello. Earl6 to bed tonight…I’ve just had a peruse of the night sky too. I like to see the stars before I go to bed. And a connection to my dad who loved star gazing.Up early.
Pup dropped off.
Wrote a list of chores and did most of them…bathrooms can wait till tomorrow.
Started a book and just kept on reading, enjoying the extra light at the big window.Listened to the birds.8 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Bigger son came over first thing and we had a cup of tea and played his dice game.
3) Smaller son woke up and we went to the cafe for a breakfast.
4) Had a quick tidy up.
5) Smaller son made pasta and sauce for tea.
6) My brother came round to watch the Manchester United match.7 -
1) duck egg and spinach for breakfast (friend has ducks and chickens) very yummy
2) after horrendous first meeting colleagues spotted I wasn’t my usual cheerful self and rallied round - after coffee and sympathy one of them said ‘do something nice today’ I said ‘I just have - coffee with caring colleagues’
3) dd2 phoned - she’s coming up at the weekend - lovely chat but that and emails delayed me getting home so…
4) 19:28 on the bus phoned mum ‘going straight to the pub will have a toastie for tea’ had lovely chat to her and she’s packed my tea for tomorrow’s lunch
5) got the Liverpool game on in the front parlours, pint and toastie, drm arrived so got him a pint too. Perfect end to a long day

For yesterday,
Capt S had the day off so a lazy start before heading out for a few bits from the farm shop, enjoyed a coffee while we were there.
Heavy rain all morning, books read and some cricket watched, oh dear.
Had just got equine pal in when the skies finally cleared and the sun popped out. Hung up her rug to dry and towelled her face & mane off. Chat with my friend who is going to the same new yard as us, she leaves this weekend.
Glad rags donned and out for a birthday meal, lovely food and a treat not to have to cook.
Cards and messages from family & friends made me feel very loved and cherished.7 -
Happy birthday 🎂 for yesterday Lainey 😊😘🥂5

Belated happy birthday @LaineyT! Hope you had a lovely day.
My pleasures for today:
1) The sunshine! It was cold, but seeing blue skies and having to wear sunglasses when out driving was fab.
2) Lunch with a good friend. We went to a new trendy coffee-shop/farm-shop which neither of us had tried before, and it was great. Really good coffee, and although it was a limited menu we each found something we liked. Good gossipy catch up.
3) My free Good Housekeeping magazine was waiting for me with the day’s post when I returned. (Free courtesy of a bank account, switched to for cash some time ago, and which has a free annual magazine subscription as a perk - I have kept it as a non-operative account ever since purely for this reason).
4) Snuggled up with a cup of tea and above-mentioned magazine is a very nice way to relax for the afternoon, with Rufus having a little lean against my leg.
5) Looking forward to a home made leek risotto topped with a flaked boneless salmon portion for tonight’s dinner, with every single ingredient coming free from the community larder yesterday.6 -
A belated happy Birthday, Lainey. The good with the sad..
Nestle, our father time, passed away, a gentler soul I’ve never met. He was an older ferret in a bad state when he turned up here as rescue, tlc fed him up, kindness bought him around to humans, he made ferret friends and life was good, 2 weeks after he arrived, we found his heart condition so meds twice a day for the rest of his life and he felt very special. We then found his mouth deformed, which meant he had needed dentals mainly okay, but in November at his check-up he was then diagnosed with lymphoma, I mean good grief talk about throw it all, we couldn’t treat it as the heart meds interacted. I was cuddling him yesterday and commented it was like he just passed in my arms, then he moved all fine. But then he had his meds and food and passed, in his cosy place, his cage mate was all over us, and we didn’t understand until I found him, then Bandit literally leapt into my arms kissing away the tears. It's very hard, I go to do other meds and not his, I go to do bits and his bits are there, just putting them away makes me cry! He was with us another just shy of 5 years, we think he was probably getting to 10 years.
1 But the animals love every day so very much, it reminds us to keep trying to live up to his memory, we took his friend Bandit for a change of scenery and walked around to Aldi, DH waited outside, while I shopped specifically for one of the pet beds, but of course they had 75% off meats and comfort food, So I snaffled casserole beef, masala chicken fillets, ham and a pork joint, with dessert of éclairs, and chocolate chip cookies. Bandit did a part walk and long carry back.
2 Made sausage, egg, beans, grilled tomato’s, bacon and hash brown for fry up tea.
3 We picked up a tray of bright primulas to plant up a splash of colour
4 Hoping to star gaze and see some of the plant alignments being mentioned.
5 Onwards as we have to plunder on.

Oh PK, I am so very sorry that Nestle has left you. I have always enjoyed reading about your ferrets, and I know how painful it is to lose a much-loved pet. Gentle hugs 💔7
