Really enjoying reading about all your pleasures, it is good to be reminded how much joy there is in the simple things every day if you just stop and think about it!Pleasures for yesterday:
1) Visit from both daughters and all four grandchildren yesterday morning. The older three (8, 5 and 3) are wonderfully bouncy, loud, chatty and exhausting - eight year old proudly showing off his new karate moves while the two younger girls dressed up to re-enact several Disney princess movies for me. I had to lie down for half an hour when they left, they had worn me out. 😂2) Five month old baby grandson is the happiest, smiliest, cuddliest little boy.
3) Mister CJ had been a keen motorcyclist and owned two smashing bikes, an Italian superbike and an immaculate vintage British classic one. I have given one each to my two sons-in-law, who are also keen bikers. It was bittersweet hearing the lads fire them up in the garage (even the dog got upset hearing that familiar sound again) but the pleasure is knowing that the bikes will be ridden and loved. For years, until he became too poorly, Mr CJ and the lads would have little weekend bike trips out and they have very fond memories of those.
4) Took a couple of bags of freshly laundered clothes to the charity shop in the afternoon, a pleasure in itself to be doing something to help the local hospice but whilst there I had a browse and snapped up a couple of bargains - three more Disney dresses for smallest granddaughter (£2 each) and a beautiful large iridescent glass vase for £3.
5) Roasted some YS lamb chops in the Ninja for dinner. I didn’t even bother cooking any veg to go with them, I just ate the meat like some sort of cave woman! Cor it was lovely though.8 -
1. Good morning service with wise words and concern re: current USA+Putin nutcase psychopaths, including Vance and, sadly, a discredited Kennedy......☹️2. Downing and Clare coxes and coaches screaming at their respective crews on the Cam. Boat Race is 13 April this year. All rowers are really rugged up too.3. Glad to have big quilty coat on over 4 other layers at river this arvo.4. Rtc bread for swans and ducks. Loads of gulls dive-bombing to snatch it too. One big strong swan on bank close to & and patient, not usual swan behaviour. No heron today.5. Toulon won away, 38-8! Dan Biggar came off the bench at 67 minutes and dropped a goal.👏🙂

Sundae Service!
I know, dip inn weakly the days. All is good at the palace.Back inn trim, getting beach ready for the season.
Watched a few films. Three Day Millionaire is in the Netflix. You don’t need the TV Tax for that. Very good as it is where the Admiral comes from, and it’s true as well. Wobbleades and finger kebab as were taken.
Squared the yard up ready for the season.
Chloe is still in the box that was delivered a fortnight back!
Jenny is being replaced shortly.
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!6 -
Good evening
I'm back from a fortnight in sunny Spain. All the usual hotel pleasures - someone else cooks, cleans, changes the bed etc
But the very best bit. Sunshine! Bright and very warm indeed.
Used local buses to get around. Very MSE. With a card bought at the Tabac, each journey was either 50 or 60 cents!! No wonder the buses were packed!
Read lots of books did crosswords did nothing at all. It was perfect.
A good recharge was very much needed before we start another round of hospital appointments for DH, DD, DGD and even me this time ( just cataracts in my case, fortunately)
I've not read back yet but hope all are well and happy despite the grey days..
Will catch up tomorrow.
Happy Sunday evening everyone

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Reasonably on top of the housework and washing.
3) Made chicken and stuffing sandwiches for lunch.
4) Went for a walk with smaller son.
5) Made meatball wraps plus shortbread for dinner.
6) Phoned my school friend.7 -
Pleasures for today
1. Caught up on sleep
2. Now on 3 days off
3. Dog walk with a glimmer of sunshine.
4. All bedding washed
5. Chance meeting with someone I met last year said hello.8 -
Woke up poorly again, it’s time to go back to the doctors next week
1 I did a homemade hot oil treatment on my hair.
2 Grilled chops, greenery and a little mash for tea. The chops were literally sliced in half from C0stco as they were so big. While the grill was on cooked the sausages alongside them.
3 Fresh ferret bedding more of a pleasure when done, and Fuse climbed into the bedding while I was hanging the bedding up, I can’t blame him it was warm and clean.
4 It was far colder than I realised, but got one plant into a pot.
5 Reading a Lovecraft compendium, a Christmas present.
6 We’ve decided on where we want to celebrate the big anniversaries, checked they have availability and accept our quirky animals, checked the area for exotic vets just in case and there are not one but 2 available. And we’ve reeled in the amount of days staying, as it saves a little and lets us explore for another week later in the year.

@ampersand - agree wholeheartedly with #1.
Hard to find pleasures as a result.7 -
lovely photographs @ampersand brings back many happy memories of 8 years in Cambridge. And now I've been in Dundee for 26 years!
Jenny has been a star of these pages for so long @Admiral_Barbarossa
1) bed was soooo cosy didn't want to get up, but breakfast was already made and very tasty - a pasta dish this time using up the other half of the black olives (determined to never again open to a layer of mould!) and the end of a jar of cornichons (ditto)
2) church was freezing but the music was wonderful and, although in the choir we can't wear our coats, we do get two extra (and long) layers!
3) took Jarvis to the pub - never did with the 2 spaniels but feel I should take up opportunities for single dog. He had a wonderful time being fussed then, when he'd had enough, curled up by the fire
4) ys duck for supper
5) then more piano practice
and now I really must get out of my cosy bed. the sun is streaming in. another tuff day at work awaits.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

For yesterday,
I slept right through with no comfort breaks needed, always lovely to wake up to that realisation.
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge, racism and irresponsible water companies all dealt with in a week, only the Archers.
Also listened to a couple of S Mangan’s new radio show which imagines what happens to all the celebrities who are set adrift on DID, very funny and much recommended for a chuckle in these trying times.
We were with Amps alongside a chilly River Cam in the afternoon as we had a voucher for an afternoon tea at a nearby hotel. The views were spectacular across the city, food very tasty and we came away with a box of cakes that couldn’t be managed alongside the posh sarnies & cream scones.
Home in time for the 2nd half of the footie and Capt S was pleased with the result. Meanwhile my team remain rooted to the bottom of our league and have finally said goodbye to the manager.6
