For yesterday,
Thanks PK, waking up without a headache was a big bonus. Came downstairs and there was a card plus choccies at my breakfast spot, exactly the same box as the one I then placed in his breakfast spot, we are nothing if not in tune!
Busy morning chores wise, did the bathrooms, changed the towels and cleared the DLB.Driving over to the yard and there was this strange, bright yellow thing in the sky, even had to wear my sunglasses ☺️ It was still cold mind but lovely to have some sunshine. Time spent with my girlie and I did start sorting through my stuff ahead of the move.
Home to a cup of tea and watched our favourite meal out spot take the prize in this week’s Four in a Bed.I had picked up one of those emporium meal deals for tea so Beef Bourguignon and green veg followed by chocolate torte, yum.5 -
Morning all 😊
Quite a nice week: On Monday I visited my old HT from my school job, she seems quite content in her care home and she can still chat away, although it’s now mostly about her health ☹️
I listed lots of items on Vinted over the last week or so and have been busy packing them up and making sure the correct item goes to the right person via the correct courier! Nice to see stuff going out of the house as the start of our declutter. 2 large bags to charity shop as well.
OHs day off on Tuesday, I went swimming, he’s still not up to it, but he did clean the bathroom floor with the new steam mop! Then lunch at Wetherspoons.
Wednesday met my old neighbour at the garden centre and had a good chat and a delicious cheese scone 😋
Thursday was OHs day off and I went swimming (46 lengths!) and he steam mopped the kitchen floor!Friday, more parcels sent off and I met my BF at Beefeater for lunch. Nice to see a bit of sunshine☀️ Came home to 2 bottles of rosé wine, 2 bunches of flowers and a box of maltesers for Valentines 💌 OH was happy with his selection of beers and pie and chips for dinner 🤣 I just had some maltesers and a glass of wine.
Dull and grey here so don’t think we’ll be going anywhere today. Hopefully more decluttering and then maybe tv catch up.
Have a lovely weekend everyone 😘5 -
Try again, & - emporium connectivity.

1. Like you , Lainey, couldn't believe The Yellow 🟡Thing! Mind you, it disappeared while & was in the emporium and is still very cold today. Young A is terrific and sorted online vouchers out for & last week Had never heard of them. 1st use meant plum tomatoes were 55p instead of £2.70. Merci millefois.👏
2. Loving my NZ manuka shower and soap bits - gels, creams etc. £1 each! Bought all 5 at Nexus CS.
3. Big day helping friend with Valentine's day bouquets and deliveries. Surplus lilies and eucalyptus taken for church. Out now, having disposed of his Dutch floral supplier packaging, all recyclable, as friend doesn't drive.
4. 2p, 5p, 20p picked up on way in to emporiums various this week. Five shillings and fivepence!
5. New National Art Pass has come.

Hello. Having an early night, I’ve got stuff to watch so may as well be cosy.Up early.Skinny Minnie club. 6.5 lb lighter than 3 weeks ago.
Popped into supermarket on way home, met an old friend of my sister so had a good chat.
Home and c’mon doggy let’s get ready. DD2 picked us up and off we went to CP and boy did they have a good time! Much running! Popped into caravan for 10 minutes. Another couple of weeks till season opens and it will get busy! Water will be switched on ( drained to avoid frozen pipes) and I can stay longer…no loo facilities with no water!Home and quick chatter with DD2 then chased them away as had work to do.
Sat at my new table and wrote and wrote and sent off a script…they’ll look at it tomorrow so I don’t have to keep checking my phone tonight .
Dropped something off for a friend and popped into see mums ndn. Had a nice chat with her.
And hello doggy…I know I said I wouldn’t be long!Cuddles thereafter.8 -
Must have lost yesterday's post.
Pleasures for yesterday (Friday)
1) Went to the coffee morning. The organisers were away so I made the drinks!
2) Popped to the butchers for hot pork sandwiches.
3) Spoke to the apprenticeships lady who said smaller son can enrol on a 12 week free course all about his chosen topic and do practice interviews etc.
4) Went to badminton (as I have 2 weeks off work so can make it) and smaller son came too! A rather patronising man (we were to play doubles) asked if we wanted to split up so have one of us on each side as he and his partner were "quite good". So we thrashed them. We are both tiptoeing around with pulled muscles today!
5) Watched the Last Leg.
6) Sainsburys order arrived.5 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A very long lie in. Horrible dream with MrU in it.
2) Still enjoying the new floors after 1.5 years of bare concrete.
3) Beans on toast for lunch.
4) Listened to our football team on the radio. They won 2-0.
5) Made tomato sauce for meatballs for tea. Then made brownies.
6) Watched Casualty.5 -
well done ampers can't remember last time I saw a dropped coin
1) fabulous concert last night at the Rep with gbf - Scottish Ensemble with puppeteers - they played Glass then Schoenberg - MrG and his wife joined us (I love Glass, I was a bit nervous cos they didn't know Glass at all but they enjoyed it too phew)
2) met lots of other friends there and had some good catch-ups before the show
3) then we (gbf, MrG and MrsG) went to mennies - the fire was on, lots more friends to catch up with
4) back there today with DrM for the Leicester game. The toastie was good. MrG joined us for the 2nd half with his dog
5) after MrG and I picked up my dog and we went for a great walk at Tentsmuir (DrM already had a family commitment) - fabulous walk but my dog who would normally be whizzing round with his brother stayed close to me - he seemed very happy though
And since then lots of piano practice, some cooking, some decluttering and now in bed with Father Brown

Pleasures for Saturday
1. sleep
2. brief sunshine
3. Overtime shift worked - very busy so passed quickly.
4. Food all taken from home.
5. Now in bed ready for more sleep.6 -
Ha ha, that made me chuckle re the badminton Frith, smaller son seems to be making such progress nowadays 👏
For yesterday,
Out to the farm shop for breakfast - I had a warm cheese scone - and picked up a few bits from their butchers counter.
Start of many conversations we will no doubt have in the future regarding Capt S’s work, there is a big possibility that he will be made redundant when the proposed merger of local councils goes ahead, he is 5 years younger than me and doesn’t feel ready yet to retire so will tentatively start to look around. Shame as he loves his job.
Off to the stables, it was bitterly cold and my lovely girl was waiting patiently for me at her gate, got her snuggled into stable and then had a cuppa in the kitchen with other owners. I will sorely miss the friends I have made.
The snow started to come down so drove home, luckily it was too wet to settle but it made the part of the journey on the busy A road a bit hairy!
Snorkers for tea followed by a festive edition of Only Connect that we had forgotten about.
