Good morning, I did write a fairly longish post last night and then it disappeared before I pressed send and I just thought stuff it 😆
Anyway in brief…was at work yesterday morning. First of three services this week.I had seen on local charity page a table and chairs that was £50…and I was going to go in and take a look and then on Monday it went to £20.00 so I got home from service, called to see if it was available and what its dimensions were and then checked my current dimensions and thought yep! So went to see it and it will be an absolute project but it’s a lovely table and good solid chairs. I got lovely velvet covered chairs for new house that never happened and they don’t sit right under the table ( which wouldn’t have mattered in new house that never was as they would have filled that dining space perfectly) so this is a longer table without a low underbelly that the arms of velvet chairs will be able to fit under.
Anyway it’s all getting delivered today. So I need to make space! Then had a quiet afternoon just watching Unforgotten.Watched the birds in the garden being busy.
Stir fry for tea.
Early bed.
Today is my ‘day off’ , I’m trying to have , when possible, a non work day each week.7 -
For yesterday, yet another day of relentless grey so pleasures doubly important.
Made a loaf and whizzed the hoover around. Stripped Sunday’s chicken and put the carcass in the slow cooker for stock.
Capt S home for lunch, tomato and red pepper soup.
To the yard, girlie was waiting by her gate and so anxious to come she nearly pulled her Mum out of her wellies in her eagerness to get going! Am hoping that the new place will have slightly less mud.
Home and walking into the front porch I saw that my beloved had rested my slippers on the top of the radiator to warm up ready for my feet, of such thoughtful little gestures true love is forged.
An early night and reading my book in bed.

Hello.Well I thought delivery was to be between 12-2pm however I got a call to say we are on our way at 7.45am! Waah! Was showered at least juts had to get dressed and move furniture out the way. Two nice chaps ( I’ve bought/ donated a few things from this charity shop and the delivery guys are always so pleasant) and one table and four legs delivered and six chairs…can you leave four chairs outside please.
They don’t reattach the legs so did that whilst on phone to friend and then with a humph managed to get it the right way round. And the velvet chairs fit just nicely. And then I had to go into the garage which the the entry way had a half tonne bag of logs so I stacked them and then was able ( for the first time in months!!) ( because of boxes and log bags) to walk right up to the back of the garage with the spare chairs! Hurrah!
Having procrastinated and avoided I finally started power washing the back patio! I brought the power washer out on Monday! So I got about a third done today. Looks better already.Moved a couple of things in the garden. When I was supposed to be moving I had placed all the plants/ pots/ bits and bobs in one area. So I want all that area tidied up. Anyway I’ve made a start.Gammon joint in the slow cooker so had that with veggies and roast potatoes and parsnips. With a tub filled with same for DD2 when she picks up the dog!Have had the log burner on this afternoon.7 -

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) The tiler finished! Very pleased with it.
3) I went to the Chatty Cafe in town but not for long because...
4) Bigger son came round! He played darts with smaller son. The dentist has had another go at his front teeth. He has the right number of teeth for now, but not the right length and the tooth that was knocked sideways on in his bike crash is not well.
5) Smaller son and I went for a walk on the heathland and did 2 miles.
6) I messaged the local volunteer run cafe to see if smaller son can help there once a week. Smaller son looked for apprenticeships himself online today.
7) My brother came round and it took him 5 minutes to notice the new floor! He had a lie down in the kitchen to test that it is flat.

Omg the cod at th.e bull is whiting! (I’m catching up on the archers)
another tuff day at work so here’s 5 mse highlights
1) previous boss (and fellow spanielite) was in - we had a lovely chat about the late bilbo
2) and then telling me how she needs to get a urine sample from one of hers - vet has recommended a ladle, I am still laughing at the picture of her chasing her lively dog with a ladle to catch that pee!3) gbf picked me up at 5 and we went to the dca for Macbeth screening with David Tennant - brilliant
4) and he brought sarnies for before
5) then he dropped me at the pub for 2nd half of Celtic game with mrg and drm - a lovely lovely eveningMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Ha ha to getting that pee sample DD I once had to do the same with the beautiful grey one 🙈
For yesterday,
Woke up feeling rough with a bad head, not really a pleasure but being able to decide to just have a quiet day at home is.
Did order my equine pal a new cooler rug to travel in plus a tail guard. She has an especially thick tail and the usual ones don’t tend to fit, fingers crossed this one will.
Lots of chilling on sofa and watching Lark Rise.
Chicken and apple bake for tea.
The last full moon of winter but when I went outside it couldn’t be seen due to thick cloud.4
