@C_J - Some mornings if I didn't have to fed the cats, I wouldn't get up. Pets do keep us going, don't they?

For yesterday,
Boy was it foggy and still there were some muppets out & about with no lights on their cars. Into horsey town for a food shop and a quick coffee in the cafe.
Did some surveys and received a bonus for one.
DSIL arrived at midday and we went into town for a good perusal of the charity shops. I was tempted by a pair of green moleskin jeans from B*den but they were £15 and had a mark on one leg that I wasn’t sure would come out. Did pick up a couple of books which will be added to the pile on my bedside table.
Stopped for a late lunch, we had the two course special and I thoroughly enjoyed deep fried Brie followed by a Chicken Caesar salad.
No tea for me but I got a portion of beef stew & dumplings out for Capt S. Fell asleep watching the footie but then was wide awake when I got into bed so finished my book, Cold Comfort Farm which I really enjoyed.6 -
Hello.Plan is for another early night! Not necessarily to be asleep early but just all cosied in!A very heavy frost this morning but it turned out to be such a beautiful day again. Bright blue sky.
Had myself a very quiet morning. All chores were done yesterday. Then doggy and I jumped in the car ( and actually just as the pup was being dropped off…see ya later Pup! ) and off we went down to the CP and had ourselves a nice walk and I finished the second pelmet. It’s less perfect than the first one but was better than I had it on Wednesday! They might not be there forever but better than having an empty space where they should be. Two more to do.Quick nip into supermarket on way home. Got a few RTC things including a lovely bouquet of flowers ( the luxury bunch! )
And home. Hello pup. Quick walk for a quick wee with him.Sister called.Had a baked potato with leftover chilli for tea.And the eeking out of the day at either side…and a moon eeking out in size too!8 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) A very long sleep!
2) Went to buy another box of tiles and there weren't any left! Another store has managed to find 15 tiles that aren't even in a box so I will drive over to get those tomorrow.
3) Went to Sainsburys quickly for milk, bread and cat food.
4) Went to the coffee morning. We had a town council election yesterday and Reform won by ONE VOTE. Our (now former) councillor was at the coffee morning so we all had a chat with him.
5) My sister and niece popped in. Niece had made me a doughnut and smaller son a football from air drying clay. I had done an illuminated letter of her initial. My sister also gave me 2 dining chairs that one of her husband's relations was clearing out.
6) Worked from 4-8 and that went OK.
7) Smaller son is thinking of applying to do an apprenticeship.7 -
What a day! but it had a good start
1) waiting for the bus, chap (now retired) who used to lead the masters I started 2001 was walking by - he stopped to chat
2) then coming out of the hospital was another colleague from those days so stopped to chat
3) then colleague walked past so I went and had a coffee and a natter with him
then total madness, including writing up external examiner report in their system and getting to last screen then got weird error message. so had to start all over again and finally got away past 7. i guess the mse pleasure is it's now done (and i did a screen shot all 6 pages and emailed them to be safe)
4) yummy stew from mum
5) just about to go to the pub when noticed DrM had messaged to say he couldn't make it - didn't take me 2 seconds to decide to watch it on tv. doggy is missing his brother as of course am I. and Leicester missed going through. but mse pleasure was dd1 called on whatsapp so i turned down the volume and had a lovely long chat with her.

For yesterday,
Boiler service day, as always when someone uses a satnav they end up on the wrong side of the nearby roundabout but quick phone call and the engineer was with us, Capt S dealt with as I was going out.
I had been given the heads up earlier in week that the farmer who has the yard is retiring and relinquishing the tenancy so the beautiful grey one will need to be found a new home, such a shame as we’ve been so happy there and I’ve have made some good friends ☹️ Went to look at prospect just the other side of horsey town, the lady seems nice, the facilities are brand new and very swish so have put our names down. It’s more expensive but money saved on petrol should cover the increase. I’m not one to move yards a lot as it’s so disruptive to a horse but we have no choice again.
Went on to see my girlie who was enjoying a duvet day due to cold, sleety weather. Carrot, apple and a long groom.
An afternoon at home and Capt S finished early too. Read my book, drunk tea and ate cake!
Half thought about walking down to pub in village but it was a yucky evening so stayed in and had a glass of wine.

Saturday and took me a long time to decompress from the week that was1
1) started off the day with breakfast while watching Frasier - it was the one where he plays a detective in a live radio play - the funniest thing I've seen since Noises Off
2) a long laze in the bath with a new book (Elly Griffiths The last word from the cs)
3) trip to the garden centre with mum - free tea with my membership, a scone between us and there was left over jam on the next table - very mse cos the little pots cost 65p each
4) bought a new dog bed for doggie (in the sale) then we called in at the cs and I got him a plush toy - he used to use his brother as a pillow so thought this might help! he is now curled up in the bed
5) did some more decluttering (for the February challenge) and found a make your own bath fizzer set from last Christmas so have made oneMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
