Hello again.
C_J - so sorry to read your sad news, sending condolences.
A busy weekend here - catching up with family mainly and a trip to the theatre. Met my new little great granddaughter for the first time yesterday. Today is littlest grandson's tenth birthday, growing up so quickly but one of the biggest pleasures of my life. I am very lucky.
Have a good day all.8 -
Hello . Currently absolutely lashing with rain on the velux windows. A nice noise as I’m not out in it!Earlyish

So downstairs windows are all cleaned. Hoovered ( again) Emptied another box in the garage, only 2 left ( I am looking for a particular thing it will likely be at the very bottom of the last box!) did little bit of ironing ( work stuff)
Hung washing outside as there was a good blow.
Nice chat to sister.Baked potato for lunch.Made a chilli. Had that for an early dinner.Did a bit of work admin. Being organised.Log burner on.Doggy snuggles.DD2 left with soup for her lunch tomorrow and 2 packs of breadsticks ( I’d also tidied pantry cupboards 😆)9 -
1 I got a coat of touch up paint on the stairs where the hoovers chipped the paint, it will need another coat but glad to tick it off the list.
2 I cooked up a batch bolognaise base, which feels good it’s been a while since I’ve properly cooked so to speak, tonight will be spaghetti bolognaise.
3 Cleaned the whole house a pleasure for a while, and a few wash loads.
4 Nice to catch up with DB via whatsapp.

For yesterday,
Booked an afternoon tea at Uni City hotel, it’s a voucher that I had for last year’s birthday but have only just found again! Luckily it was (just) still in date.
Made a loaf and roasted some veg to make the most of the oven being on.
Over to see my pony, several were misbehaving and even mine had a little dance around me as I fetched her in. It may still be cold and wet but the animals know that the year is moving on.
Capt S came home with two lemon buns from a work meeting so healthy chicken stir fry for tea followed by said cakes.
Uni Challenge followed by Silent Witness.9 -
This week has of course been quite horrendous, but there have been some OS pleasures too.
1) I am sleeping well (the last few months of caring for Mister CJ at home meant I haven’t really had a proper night’s sleep for a very long time). I am grateful for not being as exhausted.
2) Dealing with bureaucracy on the phone has been tough, but the administrators for his Police pension and the Police Federation have been so kind and caring in their dealings today.
3) Afternoon coffee and cake with a very good friend. I felt that I needed to get out of my house for a while, and her home is a very safe space to have a good sob!4) In an attempt to try and keep my normal routines going, I visited one of the nearby Community Larders this morning and came away with a fabulous bag full of lovely and very useful produce - vegetables, fruit, channa dhal, salami, cheese, porridge oats, honey, jam, padron peppers, tinned tuna, tinned baked beans, and a catering-sized bag of cracked black peppercorns which alone is worth far more than the larder weekly subscription cost!
5) I have treated myself to a fillet steak to have for dinner tonight with a side salad. Not got much of an appetite so I thought I would tempt myself 🤣9 -
Hello. Having an early night. It is absolutely lashing with rain! Crazy! It poured all of last night …I heard much of it as I didn’t sleep well so was happy to just get up this morning.
And continued to pour all morning but then brightened up beautifully in the afternoon!
I had work stuff to do today . So was in and out both morning and afternoon.Popped into old work just to say hello .
Was starving when I got in so had a chilli baked potato and salad. Munched on whilst on phone to sister and then friend.More work. Late afternoon/ early evening. Hopefully enough done !And quick chat to DD2 when she picked up pup .
And cleaned kitchen and thought I’m going to bed! With a hot water bottle!8 -
1 I woke up feeling flattened and went back to bed for the morning hoping it would pass, not quite passed but not quite there yet, sometimes the fibro wins so a very late start here, pleasure that I can,
2 Chatted with DB, just nattering.
3 Popped to lidl for the weekly shop pulled in by their offers so it was also a little more expensive than usual
4 Kiev and rana pasta with frozen beans and cabbage cooked through it for tea.
5 Puppy cuddles, the neighbours have themselves an alsation puppy with currently floppy ears.
