Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Porridge for breakfast.
3) Went to get a chisel to take up the hall floor and couldn't quite park backwards in a tiny space in the driving rain with a van behind me and an Iceland lorry on the pavement opposite, unloading. After a few seconds, I gave up on reversing and signalled right, pulled out then drove straight into a bigger space. The van behind drew up alongside me and wound his window down. I thought there would be the "Alright, darlin'" horror or some criticism of my parking. But no! He said, "You nearly had it then!" and we had a chat through our windows about how difficult parking is under pressure!
4) I took photos of the existing floor (new from when the house was built in 1960).
5) Took up all the hall floor!
6) Made a pizza and potato wedges for dinner.

C_J, - Please may I add my condolences, suddenly aware that it has been World Cancer Day.
Your granddaughter's birthday party was wise and caring for all of you.
All blessings,🤲.

&'s previous post disappeared, yet again, and couldn't be re-done, so🤞this time.
1. Into The🏉Alma, for France v Wales on Friday. Sad 43-0 for D, patron gallois, but wonderful to see Antoine Dupont's brilliant 50 minutes. & nobly took blame for result, as Sir was a kiwi. Same next night, with Ben O'Keeffe, another kiwi Sir, for England's loss to Ireland.
2. Happy significant birthday drinks for farmer🚜D👑 in Town of Gown on Saturday.
3. DD - ditto, re: Candlemas services on Sunday. Lovely a.m. HC, then monthly village worship p.m.
4. More missed calls over weekend, then actually managed to return one. All from &'s oldest Northern hemisphere friend in our old Collobrières stamping ground - over 51yrs now.🫶
5. Have fed the🏉Seniors their post-training munch as usual, with another donating to &'s birthday fundraiser for Sarcoma UK.🫶

Then left a birthday gift at The Alma. More of Reverend Richard Coles' enjoyable nonsense 'A Death in the Parish' awaits, prob. written on autopilot, but it works.

Pleasures for today
1. pre op assessment all done, hospital appointments took over 3 hours. Had to postpone previous op due to ds2 accident. Ended up with physio and exercises to complete prior to surgery as being compensating using incorrect muscles for shoulder. Pleasure is that I know what I should be doing.
2. M&S sandwich as soon as hungry after no 1.3. Team meeting
4. Loving my new car - fuel economy seems such much better.
5. greetings and cuddles from my doggy10 -
For yesterday,
Chores and getting upstairs cleaned, sunshine meant that I could see knocks and scratches so now have some decorating plans for spring.
Checked oil level and we’ve rather gone through supplies so order put in for a top up, pleasure is that there is money in the relevant sinking fund pot.
Fetched pony in and realised that she had lost a front shoe 🙄 left her munching on hay while I played hunt the horseshoe in a muddy field. Luckily it was found with all 6 nails still attached with no damage to toe piece so left it hanging on hook and call put in to farrier to come and put it back on. The mud is very sticky at the moment and sucks at shoes, by the slide marks around the field she had obviously been having a fine old time charging around as well.
Tea was baked butternut squash with goats cheese.
Last of this current series of Silent Witness, some of the more gruesome scenes require the cushion of protection to be deployed but I love the characters and clever plot lines.

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Tiler arrived at 9am and has finished the majority of the kitchen.
3) It was a bit awkward with the tiler (nowhere to sit without seemingly watching him!) so I went to the Food Share place for a cooked breakfast (£5) then a £4 bag of food.
4) Then went to the new Warm Space. This is in my town and 4 people from my normal coffee morning were there! I had a cup of tea and a board game. They were giving cakes away at the end (only open one day a week) so I took one home for smaller son.
5) Had a chat with the tiler about the floor not being flat. Told him the back of my old house was 5cm higher than at the front!
6) Can't walk in the kitchen so we had chips for tea. The chip shop is just down the road but we had never been in before.
7) Can't do any housework now as everything is inaccessible so sitting under the cat watching tv.7 -
well big sadness of the day is taking ill doggy to the vet for a gentle nudge over the rainbow bridge. however even in sadness there are pleasures
1) gbf (also the dog-father) came with me - ill doggy loves the car, loves the vet (yes really), loves the dog-father - he wasn't able to stand this morning but I cuddled him in his blanket and carried him
2) the vet was totally wonderful and although it took 4 needles to find a vein in his poor little leg he didn't seem to notice and i carried on stroking his little head till breath had gone from his body - indeed the hardest bit was leaving the room after
3) gbf took me to our local hotel for a coffee and scone - i sobbed my little heart out - then dropped me at work
4) colleagues were lovely (of course) - i had 3 very important meetings and work well through grief - did go for a walk at lunchtime with a very close (and dog owner) colleague, then she came to check up on me at 5:30 and dropped me off at the dca for supper with another (also dog owner) colleague then i phoned dd2 and more tears as i walked up to mennies
5) and more condolences - after the normal cider toasted the wee lad with a shot of Talisker (kind gift from the landlord - my previous dog was a gsd and I called her Tali short for Talisker so it seemed very fitting)
So as i say pleasures in sadness. his brother is now sleeping along on the dog bed - so sad yet it was most definitely time. When it is his time I will get the vet to come to the house - this one hates the car, hates the vet though does love the dog-father - i hope obviously that time is a little way off. night all, it's been a long day!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
