1 Freddo is still here and enjoying extra foods, and others are cuddling him also, in fact I would say he’s rallied around a lot.
2 One of the mini trees I left out to fair for itself was suffering a lot, so in rather damp conditions today I re potted it and bought it into the greenhouse to give it a fighting chance.
3 We popped out to take advantage of a local takeaway trying to re-open after closing for not good reasons, this way we can see if they are still bad at half the cost at least as they are giving fifty percent off. Honestly the worst and most burnt takeaway I have ever has the misfortune to have, officially complained and refund.
4 The new joe browns catalogue arrived, and I flicked through rather than online and “mentally” purchased just the one dress – but then I saw the butterfly wings dress…

The lark ascending is one of my favourites too DD, my pal used to play it whilst doing dressage with her horse.
Hope all is ok Frith
For yesterday,
Despite a grey, wet start the mornings are definitely getting lighter.
Did some surveys and made a loaf, half wholemeal, half malted with a big handful of pumpkin seeds.
Bit of a niggly headache so messaged the yard to say that I wasn’t coming and had an afternoon at home, mini snooze after lunch and then read my book.
My beloved was home at 4 so we treated ourselves to a mug of hot chocolate, just tell myself that the milk is good for my 60 year old bones 😉
Second part of Silent Witness, very good.

Morning all.
Back from our mini-jaunt and settling back into normal life.
Some pleasures:
1) A gorgeous sparkling morning, clear blue sky and bright sunshine. Still a bit chilly but nearly the end of one of my favourite months - though in reality I love them all in their own way, just have a soft spot for January.
2) A good trip away and enjoyed the ballet. Must admit to being a traditionalist though and much preferred productions when we had proper sets as opposed to computerised images on a screen. Yes, they are very clever but somehow not 'theatre' and that will be me showing my age! Anyway, the production was very clever, Nutcracker in Havana, and the Cuban dancers were fantastic.
3) It seems most of the cast were staying in our hotel, quite a lot of them milling around at breakfast time, gorgeous young people, a big pleasure to people watch over a full English and coffee.
4) Had a wander around Salford Quays and the Lowry Gallery, enjoyed both.
5) Son has won some sort of award at work, need to catch up with him in person to find out exactly what, proud of him regardless but pleased that he will be pleased.
DundeeDoll - sorry to hear the news about your friend x
Right, unpacking to finish, washing to do, meal prep to be sorted - back to reality.
Have a good day.

DD you are quite right job wise; something came up today that literally seems made to measure, I’ve thrown my hat into the ring as you never know.
1 Popped out to pick up meds, had a nose around the homebase closing down and came out empty-handed. Then on into aldi for a couple of bits as DH wants a version of a “beige” Tex Mex platter this weekend, before we are without a car for a bit as of tonight.
2 Back and wrote up a letter and updated the CV again to tailor it to the role and applied.
3 Tonight’s food will be a homemade curry, I’m apparently quite good at them in my menu options.
4 I’m tempted by a Kindle deal on a lady who wrote called “Birds as Individuals” and I’ve just queued it up for when I finish my current one.
5 Watching 2 woodpeckers on the birdfeeders.
6 – 100 Freddo has rallied and is doing well on steroids for now.

Hello! It’s a very chilly evening. Have had the fire on past few hours but think I’ll need to click heating on for a wee while. It’s to be below freezing overnight.
Beautiful day though.Pup dropped off. Then me and my dog boy went out to CP and had a lovely walk. Pup would be going out with his dog walker later. It was the most beautiful morning. Blue sky. Sunshine. Birds being busy. Dog being sniffy.Home and called sister. Then ready for work this afternoon. I’ve mainly been doing morning services so it’s always strange waiting to go out.Nice drive down and back with sun shining on the countryside. And a really lovely service for a lovely lady. Came away feeling a good job done and then got a beautiful thank you message afterwards.
Quick call to sister again.
Then having had no lunch I made tea . Had a sweet and sour sauce sachet so cooked some chicken and veggies with rice. Was ready for it!
DD2 picked up the pup. Just waiting till fire burns down a bit then I’m heading up to bed!7 -

For yesterday,
Lunar new year and it brought a bright, sunny morning.Spent time in the garden, pruning and tidying. I miss small dog every day but especially when I’m working outside as she would follow me around for a bit but then fall asleep in the grass, bless her ❤️ Stood for a while and watched a crow mobbing a red kite which had obviously encroached on its territory, the kite made the crow look tiny in comparison.
Lunch and then over to see my big girl, gave her half an hour on her hay net while I sorted out tack box then did a bit of groundwork in the school. We are concentrating on straightness as advised by physio.
Didn’t get home until nearly 5 but it was still light.
Tea was Roquefort stuffed, Parma wrapped chicken, very tasty.5 -
Hello. I had a planned quiet day today.
Very heavy frost this morning but a nice gentle sunrise and a wee bit earlier every morning! Yay!Pup dropped off.Wrote a list of chores and just about to do the last one ( clean my bathroom!) and all scored out!Work call so another service booked in.Lovely chat with mentor/friend this afternoon…it’s good to have someone to talk to who understands the job we both do.Made Stovies for tea…very cheap and cheerful as had a pack of sliced sausage in freezer that was RTC, festively priced turnip ( that’s it finished) and carrots ( chopped in freezer) and festively priced onions! And CC priced potatoes! Was delicious. DD2 took the remaining portion home for her tea.Chat to sister.Lots of doggy snuggles.Watched the birdies in the garden.Enjoyed the blue sky though it was blooming chilly.Had the fire on from about 11am.
A nice day at home with absolutely nowhere else to be!8 -
Not very well (just a cold). Here are some pleasures for the last few days.
1) Art club on Monday. I used pastels for the first time ever.
2) Smaller son is still enjoying playing darts and threw 180.
3) I went out for lunch with my parents and they gave me their air fryer that they don't use.
4) Printed out the sheet music for The Dectectorists for the piano.
5) Today I cooked goulash, chicken tikka, a shepherds pie base plus chicken and stuffing for sandwiches. That should see us through until Sunday.
6) The new tiles arrived this morning for the kitchen and hallway. I have had bare concrete there for over a year.
7) My friend had a job interview yesterday and was succesful!
8) It sounds like my job will carry on until 17th April.7
