5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

For yesterday,
A very windy day although nowhere near as bad as other places in the Isles, hope all in the parish are ok.
Headed into horsey town for a food shop and a quick coffee with my friend.Did a meal plan for next week plus a mini finance sort with it being payday.
Headed over to the yard, the horses had been kept in due to weather conditions and girlie was happy enough when I got there but I did take her out for a leg stretch and a blow of (very) fresh air. Then I did the same with my friend and her horse as she was a bit worried he would be too skittish, all was well.
Leaving the yard at gone 4 and the sun was still fairly high in the sky, I know we have a fair bit of winter to go but it’s Imbolc next week and crossing into February always feels like a positive step.6 -
Morning all.
A calm, sunny day today after the turbulence of yesterday. Hope everyone came through unscathed.
Some pleasures:
1) We have a beautiful new addition to the family, little great granddaughter born on Tuesday morning. Totally luscious.
2) Have enjoyed a pretty quiet and calm January, love the pared back feeling of it after the busy festive season but lovely to have longer days coming back again.
3) Finaly managed to lose 1lb this week, seem to have hit a plateau but am battling through. Did succumb to some illicit chocolate last night though and it was worth every calorie - oops!
4) Getting my hair cut and coloured today, not a pleasure having it done but it will be a massive pleasure to get it back in shape and back to its 'natural' colour, not ready to give in to the grey quite yet.
5) Away for a couple of days from Sunday to sunny Salford. Will visit the Lowry Gallery but also have tickets for the ballet - Carlos Acosta's Nutcracker in Havana - has had great reviews so looking forward to it very much.
Right, need to crack on and get the slow cooker up and running before we go out. Have a lovely weekend, whatever you are up to.6 -

Hello.Early Schmearly.
Moved garden furniture back from the patio doors that it had blown up against.
Back to skinny club. Sigh.
Then went straight down to caravan park to see if there was any damage.outdoor Furniture strewn in the woodlands behind me. But by going in to retrieve it I found little clumps of snowdrops. Loads of detritus everywhere. But thankfully doesn’t seem to be much structural damage to anything.A beautiful tree down on the main driveway which has a beautiful avenue of trees.
Supermarket.
Hello doggy.
Then DD2 picked me up to go over to her house to see if there was any storm damage so big fence panels down. So she’s a tad upset as it’s more money .Then home. Hoovered and tidied downstairs. Fire on. Watched Casualty.Had a snoozette. Sky was blue. Birds on the feeders and robin had his bath.Burns Day today so had mince and tatties and neeps for tea ( I don’t like haggis)6 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A very long sleep.
2) Leftover crumble for breakfast. Made smaller son a fried egg sandwich for lunch. HM wedges, sausages and baked beans for tea. Can you tell we are desperately awaiting an online order?!
3) Finally put the new house on the Land Registry property alert thing.
4) Watched a lot of television this evening including Casualty.
5) Our team drew in the football which is OK, but there no longer quite top of the league.6 -

Good morning. Dark still here but yesterday was a bright sunny day. Very welcome
We were very lucky with the awful storm. Just a strong wind here and no real damage that I've heard of. I hope everyone else here was so lucky.
And now I've got a cold! It was inevitable as virtually everyone I know has one, including DH. It's not too bad though so hopefully will soon go. No football watching for me today though. Warmth, rest and lots of hot drinks for me.
Pleased I've got soup in the freezer. Just the job. Might add an extra pinch of chilli flakes to clear my head 😂
Happy Sunday everyone

For yesterday,
A leisurely first cuppa and reading our books in bed.
We had a fair bit of sunshine so out into the garden for a job that’s been on the to do list for quite a while, a small willow has been allowed to grow too big and was now in danger of bringing down the trellis around the car port. Hard work for an hour or so but now sorted, we have left the trunk as it might sprout again but for now my plans are to grow a clematis up around it. Taking it out means that the Crocosmia will get more light, the cuttings from that came from my parents garden and before that from my grandparents original plant so would hate to see it go.
Came in to find my footie team were 2-0 up and did go on to win, it’s the hope that kills you 🙈
Couple of hours spent at the yard, noticed a small cut on my girlie’s leg when cleaning out her feet so washed that and a spritz of iodine so no nasties get in. Chat with my friends.
Our monthly treat of a Chinese takeaway.6 -
1. Storm Herminia is already worse than Éowyn, live rapportage from & in rocking Doblo up on The Gallops.
2. Msg'g with friends in Spain, who say they're having chilly mornings! Not sure what their 'chilly' C⁰s might be, but certainly not as low as here.
3. The joy of hot water bottles. More later.
4. Yesterday, after nearly 2hrs, & was able to dismantle+lever out kitchen fanlight window, only 10½" deep, from 15' up ladder then climb in and retrieve keys😬🙄🤐...... hasn't happened for several years, but did yesterday. Another spare key cut in Town of Gown. No idea where previous spares are. Now, where to put this one? Osp is managing to do this at 76😁, must be the All Blacks bloodline....🫶
Kia Kaha Arohanui!!!
5. Standing over the ancient blowing floor vent heaters in church this morning. Famous Marilyn Monro pic. effect not on today, with everyone very leggings+layered. 4 and snuggly coat for &.
