For yesterday,
Shoulder better enough to get a few chores done around the house which included the bathrooms, as always the pleasure is only when done.
Filled up the bird feeders and had a wander around the garden, some green shoots cheered up yet another grey day.
Big bowl of soup for lunch, b squash and lentil dal from the emporium, I do usually make my own but I had a voucher and it was very nice.
Time with the beautiful grey one, she was obviously feeling well after her physio as her mud splattered belly told the story of several zoomies around her field. She is very enamoured with a new horse that has taken the paddock next to her so perhaps it was a case of showing off!
A new to me recipe involving fish, cannellini beans and spinach, didn’t have enough of the green stuff so substituted some little gem lettuce which was surprisingly nice.4 -
Up early.
Work this morning.Quick nip into supermarket on way home.Hello doggy.Bacon roll for lunch.Quiet afternoon.
Did a bit of work admin…invoice and prep for next meeting…no work for 4 whole days unless I get a phone call tomorrow but I’m treating it like a long weekend… a long weekend with storms!
Doggy snuggles and a big fright when we got a national alarm/warning on phone! Waaah!5 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep. Woke up from a dream that I was going round the world with Jeremy Clarkson!
2) Thought I would go back to the charity shop to look at a bench. Whilst there, my boss phoned to say I will (99% sure) be made redundant by April, with 3000 colleagues nationwide. I've got to look at this as a positive that I will find something else. No redundancy pay for me as I haven't been there long enough.
3) Didn't really know what to do after that phone call so I drove on to floody city and had lunch in Waitrose. Remembered to get the free newspapers (for under the cat litter tray) and did the prize crossword. Bought some venison burgers for smaller son with a money off voucher. Did the charity shops on the way home and bought a skirt from Mistral for £2 !
4) Still didn't really know what to do during the afternoon so I hoovered and dusted the whole of the upstairs ! Then I cleaned the bathroom.
5) Not in chronological order now but I popped in to the tile place on the way home and some cheap and cheerful tiles in there that will be great for the kitchen and hall. I asked the tiler for a quotation for the hall (I had asked only for the kitchen before) and I will see if I can get both done at the same time for minimum disruption. This will be the last big spend for a while if I'm not going to have a job!
6) So the whole house is clean now and I just need to empty the litter tray then it will be time for THE TRAITORS. I will have to have a pot of Kurdish tea because we have run out of teabags!7 -

Really must visit that CS Amps!
For yesterday,
We had some sunshine first thing, always lifts the spirits.
Into Uni City for haircut, my walking has dropped right off since losing small dog so parked a fair distance away and walked in, not the enjoyment of a rural walk but steps still up.
Reading and enjoying a coffee as lovely hairdresser did his thing, he’s talking about moving out of the city as the commute is getting to him, luckily for Lainey he lives in horsey town and will be even nearer!
Home and a rare afternoon at home, made a brew and downloaded a couple of episodes of Lark Rise to Candleford, I enjoyed it so much when it first come out and was pleased to find that was still the case.
Stuffed chicken thighs with mashed carrot & swede for tea, very tasty.
