Hello. Just waiting on my tea cooking! RTC chicken kiev and a load of veg…almost at the end of the sprout mountain!Today has been spent mostly inside a wardrobe. I have painted and papered my built in wardrobe as you do! My body is a bit achy ( especially a shoulder!) but it’s looking rather splendid!
Bit more to do but achy bones had had enough! I’ve a free shelf unit to paint that will sit inside then have a load of baskets that I already had that I’m hoping will fit inside the shelves!Anyway that’s about it! Now need to scrub dark green paint off my hands and nails before work tomorrow!5 -
many thanks for your kind thoughts for dear doggie. what will be will be. we thought he was a gonna in June so every day has been a bonus. he's frightfully thin now and can't keep any food down but still wags his tail and gets up to go in the garden. Florence sounds a fabulous holiday destination @topsyturphy
can't believe the weekend has gone already! for yesterday
1) loooong lie in and the dogs both let me sleep through
2) a lovely long piano practice - in addition to the scales and pieces I went through all the choir music for Sunday
3) mum and I went through all the food making lists. a few items decluttered and the rest has been listed - anything currently in the cupboard still 1/1/26 will get the whole heave ho
4) very interesting 1964 documentary about London and the green belt
5) 2 workouts while watching A hard day's night - a lot to be said for iPlayer
and today
1) lovely music at church
2) and the sermon was spot on for what's going on at the University at the moment
3) cooked another recipe from the pasta book, using up the jar of anchovies off yesterday's audit
4) gbf came round to see the poorly then we took his brother for a walk
5) the 4:30 EFL game with the lads
and now i'm home with a belly full of ys duck breast, the fire on and call the midwife on the tv.

We had to cancel company coming around tonight, both still feeling groggy, and I’m not up to hosting.
1 I did a bit in the garden tidying out pots, but when I couldn’t feel my hands and it seemed to be trying to snow I came in.
2 I pre-paid this year’s camping where possible to keep the old prices, forms all filled in just need to pop them in the post tomorrow.
3 Using up bits, tonight was Cumberland sausages with Christmas pots, turned into mash, with greens and gravy, it was tasty, and a sausage leftover, cut in half it will be a snack with a slice of bread tomorrow. I’m starting to feel a bit more adventurous in cooking now, although it may not sound it now.
4 We tried the Greggs alternative for a pound from Iceland, and I have to say I will be buying more, well in 5 weeks times when we’re back at the vets, touch wood not before…
5 We purchase in bulk for the animals, it’s run down now, so I’ve just re ordered, but we’ve also been hit by Brexit rules as we can’t get 2 of the items anymore. However 2 orders done.

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Good to get up after a pathetic sleep.
2) Worked from 8-12. It went OK and I booked off the rest of my annual leave for this year. (Ends in February).
3) My friend was due to come round so I had an emergency emptying of the bins, tidying up etc.
4) My friend popped in (she had been delivering leaflets for the local election and I have some to do tomorrow). We had a cup of tea.
5) Smaller son is still enjoying playing darts.
6) I watched Celebrity Hunted.
Art class in the morning!5 -
Good morning. Very grey again today
Yesterday went to see DGS football match. So cold!. I had several layers on but was still very grateful for the final whistle! Fortunately as they're under 11s it's only half an hour each way. DS was fine cos he was a linesman so was running about. I might volunteer. If only I knew the rules😂
We were going to go to a cafe for lunch but were so cold we decided to go home for soup from the freezer. Spicy carrot and lentil soon warmed us up.
Made a new chicken recipe with a creamy sauce. It was ok but really nothing special. Ah well. The apple crumble for after was much better.
Back to yoga today after teacher had a minor op. Not been since beginning of December so it's going to be hard!
Happy grey day everyone5 -
Very grey indeed HappyCas
For yesterday,
An early morning cuppa and reading our books in bed.
My shoulder is still stupidly sore so decided on a quiet day at home, then we talked about moving the lounge around - too obvious where a little girl’s dog basket was - so we did that, although Capt S did all heavy lifting etc.
Lunch was duck with just a big pile of veggies as I’d run out of spuds 🙄
Fell asleep on sofa, no afternoon walk as we chickened out with no need to go out in the cold, what would small dog say!
Toasted crumpets for tea.

Hello
Just another rubbish nights sleep! Honestly! But did have a dream with a friend in it so messaged her this afternoon and sorted out a catch up date!Work this morning bit of a grizzly throat so popped into supermarket on way down for some cough sweets! Managed without coughing! What a lovely service ( she writes modestly 😆) so much love for the lady whose service it was.Home via supermarket again! A few RTC things. And hello doggy! He’d already been fed ( the chap had came down)
chat to sister.
painted a piece of furniture which I’m just going to put in place just now.And I’m just in from a big walk with DD2.Been a very grey day here but not too cold.5 -
walked past most amazing car accident. I assume he'd tried to overtake another car without noticing the island in the middle of the road - he'd managed not only to knock over the street furniture but to end up straddling the island, wheels on the road either side of the island, undercarriage totally ruined by island. guessing the car was a write-off but the driver didn't look hurt (apart from his pride)
1) very tasty pasta dish which started with a tin of artichoke hearts we found doing our food audit. had it for breakfast and lunch and will do the same tomorrow
2) walked into work (step challenge is definitely having a good impact)
3) went for late lunchtime walk round arboretum with work colleague
4) very tasty sausage casserole for dinner - mum said plenty left over for your lunch, oops
5) long convo with dd2 and paced up and down - have got over 25K yayMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
