Hello on a bright, sunny morning.
Some pleasures:
1) Normal life - an ongoing pleasure. Lovely to settle down after a busy December into a quieter January. Can't beieve it's half over already!
2) Some freezer sorting, trawling for bits and pieces to use up, I'm aiming to bottom the freezers and start afresh. Anyway, a bit of leftover mincemeat and a small bag of crumble mix made a Christmas Crumble with apple and spices added, bags of cooked chicken and leftover Christmas cheeses made a chicken and leek lasagne and odd chicken breasts and thighs and bags of onion, carrot and celery mix made 12 portions of Chicken Jalfrezi. Admittedly they then went back into the freezer but will be eaten over the next month or so. Have finally come to the conclusion that my freezers work better filled with mostly homemade ready meals rather than with raw ingredients.
3) A couple of gorgeous bright, sunny days and clear blue skies. We've had a walk on the last two days and been positively warm. Lovely.
4) After our walk yesterday I carried on to meet middle grandson who was on his way home from college for the afternoon so walked part of the way chatting with him. Good to catch up, hadn't seen him for a while,
5) Going to stay with my brother and SIL toight. In return for hubby doing a job on SIL's car we will be dinner, bed and breakfasted then the plan is to visit a new shopping centre tomorrow before heading home.
Enjoy your day, hope the sun is shining where you are too.6 -

Good afternoon. Nice and bright now but thick frost again this morning. Didn't expect that!
New washer day today. Old one made a frightful row and hopped about on the floor. New one delivered by 9:30. Very efficient service. DH was going to install it but found the plug was getting hot on the old one.so needs to check out the socket first for loose wires.
Renewed our annual membership of the wildlife park yesterday. It's good to be able to go whenever we feel like it, and we get 10% off in the cafe and shop too.
Made sweet potato and lentil soup. It's lovely and made loads. We'll soon have a freezer full of soup!
Started to make a scrapbook for DGD of her first 16 years. A mix of photos and her ' works of art' from nursery onwards. Quite pleased so far.
Happy 🌞 day everyone

1 Took fuse to the vets, both he and the vet were very good, they were able to do a test and check for cells, back on antibiotics but still a lot better. Ferret cuddles for the hour there and the hour back, empty wallet.
2 We called in at Iceland, local to the vets, as I saw an offer on the chips we like, and I think it happened to be our turn for cheap things, I was rummaging through a half price freezer that I’ve never seen before and have regrets about not picking up their cathedral city cheesy hash browns but even half price they seem expensive, but I did pick up some half price things and a half price turkey crown I ummed over, it was 2.5kg and wrapped in bacon marked down to 6, and it and a few other things scanned through at a pound. Very pleased.
3 Stopped in at Greggs for lunch, I was surprised that adding to the order made it cheaper for a meal deal, had a nice hot sandwich, with a cuppa and wedges for 5 pounds each.
4 Slowly absorbing the book.
5 Swept up and got rugs down for the poorlies.

Hello. The most atrocious sleep! So the pleasure was just blooming well getting up!Lovely sunrise.
Waaah at new phone charger not working! So having to dash to supermarket to get a new one so I could charge my phone to get to work !Met a new family. Bit further than I usually go to so was a bit (big bit) anxious about the drive. But of course got there and got back safely!Chat to sister on phone.Sat at table and wrote and wrote…sent it off and got the most beautiful response to my service. So that made me very happy.Chat to DD2
Reckoning DD1 should be arriving in about 7 hours. And lovely cuddles with my dog boy throughout the day…he’d taken himself upstairs to bed whilst I was downstairs writing! And lots of birds in the garden as there’s food for them…which makes a greedy labrador want out in the garden more!5 -

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Tidied up and pottered around during the morning.
3) Smaller son had HM soup for lunch. I had LO cauliflower cheese.
4) I worked from 4-8 and that was OK though I pulled the printer for the scales apart (to change the roll of paper) and it all fell apart so that will be nice for someone to sort out tomorrow.
5) My brother came round to watch the Manchester United match and they won 3-1 (in the end).
6) Just watched The Traitors.5 -

For yesterday,
Was heading out to get some petrol and spotted the old boy who looks after the grounds around us ( not our property will quickly add! ) hadn’t seen him since before Christmas so had a catch up chat. Told him about small dog as he would always say hello to her over the garden gate.
A few green shoots coming up in the garden and a solitary snowdrop in the front bed, guess the mice have got the rest!
Cold day so big bowl of chicken soup made a very welcome lunch.
With my pony, the mud is back and she was waiting at the gate for me to fetch her in. Thank goodness for a yard with a hot wash!
Didn’t want anything heavy or taxing to watch so a couple of episodes of the new series of Father Brown.7
