Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep and I dreamed about my friend's new house. (She hasn't even started looking yet!)
2) I went to art class from 10-12 and did a picture using watercolours today.
3) Went to the book shop to collect my niece's birthday present.
4) Went round the charity shops in floody town but bought nothing.
5) Popped to the barbers to have another inch cut off the back of my hair. It is taking months for the sides to catch up with the back!
6) Went to canal town for the charity shops and bought a picture in pastels.
7) Took hot pork sandwiches home for lunch for me and smaller son.
8) Worked from 4-8. My colleague (who worked 9-5) looked absolutely exhausted. I got quite a lot done.
9) Watched 24 Hours in Police Custody.5 -

For yesterday,
Trip into horsey town for a food shop, have rather run stores down lately so a bit of a stock up especially on bread flour etc.
Long chat with my bf.
With my girlie and her neighbour had returned from rehabilitation livery following an op on his spine, lovely to see him and his owner again although my contrary mare flattened her ears at him 🙄 He always stood next to her side of the box so that I could reach through and scratch his chin, he obviously hadn’t forgotten.
Driving home, the skies had cleared enough to enjoy the sunset.
Tea was rtc posh fish cakes with pea & leek gratin, trying to avoid too many carbs in the evening but had a square of dark choc as well.4 -
Morning all.
Goodness, lots going on since I was here last, will read back over all your pleasures with a coffee later on.
Recent pleasures:
1) A lovely visit and sleepover at brother's last week. Hubby fixed SIL's car, had a lovely meal and lots of laughs. Made some plans for later in the year.
2) Day out on Sunday at a local NT Estate. It was freezing cold but lovely wintery scenery, walked 6 miles and felt better for it. Love the 'brutality' of a bleak January.
3) Some very OSS meals from pre-Christmas cheap veg and half price meat, feeling very virtuous and housewifely cooking up a storm with my bargains.
4) Booked a week away in May in Devon in the Tamar Valley, one of my favourite places in the whole world. Just the two of us, lovely.
5) Booked tickets for the new Bob Dylan film tomorrow. Looking forward to a trip down Memory Lane, loved his early stuff, Positively 4th Street and so on. Fab!
Bit of an anxious day today as stepgranddaughter is waiting to be induced, she's been in and out of hospital over the last week and is pretty fed up so can't wait. Eeeek!!! Hopefully, fingers crossed, there will be a very big pleasure by the end of today!
Have a good day, whatever you are up to.5 -
1 Did a little bit of garden tidying, really need a tip run now.
2 Weekly shop achieved at aldieee
3 Washed the living room curtains, thankful they survived
4 Part of the ferret food order arrived much to the courier amusement of how they pack things, unpacked and the packing immediately made the best playhouse possible.
5 I disinfected around where the birds eat and tidied it all up.
6 Various wash loads including the second set of curtains taken down, washed and back up.
7 Cooked up one of the half price joints, and made a mini roast, yorkie pud, aunt Bessie roasties and leftover Christmas veg together with Christmas stuffing, a lot of leftovers.

Hello…late for me!Early schmearly and think I was only awake once through the night.
Final bit of work done on Thursdays service. All printed off.Went to beach with my dog boy…was so dull and dismal when we left but bright and sunny on the way back. We had a lovely walk and some excellent ball throwing and very good catching!Popped in to say hello to niece at her work.Popped into charity shop next to her work and got some work clothes and a lovely dusky pink jumper. And home!Another service booked in so called family to make arrangements to meet them next week.Quick chat to sister.DD2 popped in to use hoover to clean her car.
i then cleaned my car…removed half a beach and half the countryside. Washed the blankets and towels.Walked round to friends…walked back just as sun was setting. The most beautiful skyline and the sound of the blackbirds. Had a good couple of hours blethering and catching up on each other’s news.No Tuesday Tea as friend had something else on so I texted her to say I’d had sausage rolls and beans and no pudding for my Tuesday Tea! Not quite the same but very nice it was!Texting back and forth with mentor/ friend about a job I have coming up.
its very cold and frosty tonight so I’ve left the heating to click on if it gets too cold overnight.A good day,5 -

For yesterday,
Finalised equine girlie’s new insurance by making a phone call, I’ve been the queen of procrastination about it.
Out and about so dropped into the village GC, they had decent money off indoor flower pots so treated myself to one plus a plant to go in it.
The Postie came with my yearly supply of greeting cards from the fish blowing company.
At the yard and my girl had some physio, I’ve recently changed who does it and the new lady instantly picked up on the stiffness on left side where she has been compensating for right fore, treatment given and exercise regime sorted. The lady laughed because my girl is very expressive and clear in which bits she wants to be worked on!
Big batch of Bolognese made, no pasta but we did share a small baked sweet potato.6 -
Hello. Sitting up in bed with moisture sock doodahs on my feet! Found them the other week when I was clearing the spare room…think DD1 used a pack at DD2 one night and was supposed to give her these…I’ll claim innocence 😆
Well, me that doesn’t sleep well woke up at 6.55am! ( had been awake at one point)
Friend called on her way to work
Frosty morning ( which was not on the weather app but when I went out at 9pm last night the car was heavily frosted already) but it was the most beautiful day once the sun came out. Blue sky.Walked down to old work for a fruit scone. Had a blether…went into supermarket…met three sets of people…blethered. Walked up past mums and popped in to see NDN. Had a lovely blether. Walked back home chatting to DD2 on the phone and then met old work colleague so …yep, had a blether.Teeniest tiniest bit of work stuff in preparation for tomorrow.
Chat to sister .Fire on.Sorted out my flowersSent texts and got nice replies.
Watched the birds on the feeders. Listened to the blackbird. Smiled at the robin having his daily afternoon bath.
Had remaining beans and sausage rolls for lunch and then had croissant (RTC) from freezer with tuna mayo for tea. Trying to use up what I have.Had a bit of a tidy through wardrobe. Have a wee pile for charity bag.A good day.5
