Okay all, will try and post 5 New Year osps from Town of Horse High Street.
#
1. All emporium pâtisserie was being thrown out on 31 December. New young lass said she hated doing it, but could mark it all as FREE on labels, so & could take it. Promised to take all to Jimmy's Night Shelter in Town of Gown and did so. Have seen her today, shown proof. Both of us v.pleased.🙂👏2. Love my hwbs and will re-do shortly, when back.
3. Left more emporium rtc's with friend, en route to Town of Horse. Glad I did as she is suddenly full of cold. Hearing the shocking figures for Addenbrookes 'flu admissions is alarming.
4. Another who loved all the shipping forecast programmes.👏🌟
5. Seeing 3 happy photos from widely disparate sources and for ditto reasons - all good.

Lainey, I do hope you'll make your way to the new charity shop in Town of Horse. Truly believe you'll approve massively. & does usual thing of dropping off donations, but somehow coming away with things.😁
Thrilled with today's £1 leather gloves, a £1 porcelain pussycat mug for friend, and a single p/b volume of Marcel Pagnol's 'Jean de Florette' and 'Manon des Sources'.

Pleasures for yesterday (Friday). I don't like updating after the day.
1) Did I sleep? I can't remember.
2) Had a lie in.
3) Cleaned the bathroom whilst listening to a podcast.
4) Went to work 4-8 where the difficult lady was in a good mood (she was also only there for the first 15 minutes then I was on my own for over 3.5 hours!) I knocked 2 boxes of garlic dips off the shelving so had to clean all that up but we were all allowed to take some end of date Baileys double cream home.
5) Watched The Traitors.
ETA 6) The young lad at work (10?) who told me all about the darts that he was going to watch, who would win, how and what snacks he was going to have!7 -

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Good to get up after a terrible sleep.
2) Went to meet up with my friends at C's house and had tea and cake. I then had a guided tour of the building works and we had a long chat about furniture and his favourite pieces and his best chair which was (just like mine) pulled from a skip!
3) Back home briefly for a cup of tea.
4) Went to the football with smaller son (FA Trophy) and our team won 4-0! In the second half, they were just playing for enjoyment really then they basically wandered around for the last 10 minutes!
5) Had a Olio loaf and cut it up with my new bread knife my sister bought me for Christmas.
6) Had YS pizzas for tea then I fried some fruit in butter and sugar to use it up.
7) Lots of chats with people online about the snow. It started at about 10pm and is still going. I need to be at work for 7.45 so we shall see what happens there!7 -
A very quiet day
Today it is14 years since my beautiful brave daughter died of breast cancer aged 37 ,her children’s were 7&5
I know ( and have said) that the pleasure is that she lived ,but today has been hard .8 -
Good morning. We have snow but only about 2 inches so far. More forecast though.
@Suffolksue -Such a sad day for you every year. I'm sure that sort of pain will hit you every year no matter how long it has been. Sending hugs xxx
We had planned to meet DD and SiL later and then call in at DS house but with the extra snow forecast I might suggest they come here! I don't want to be the old lady taking up a hospital bed with a broken hip cos she was too daft to stay at home!
For fans, the first 8 Elly Griffiths/Ruth Galloway books are 99p on Kindle daily deal today. I found a couple I haven't read.
So today could be a quiet jigsaw type day, or a visitors day. We'll see.
Happy Sunday everyone. Stay safe and warm x8 -
Must add a visit to that shop to my to do list Amps
Thinking of you SSue x
For yesterday,
An early start as Capt S was off to the capital to meet up with stepsons and watch football, did get back to sleep for a bit once he’d gone.
A quiet morning by myself at home, an inventory on freezer contents meant a meal plan was settled for next week, then I made a loaf and changed the bed. Small dog supervised when she wasn’t dozing on her bed ☺️Over to see my big girl, despite the low temperatures she is starting to shed her winter coat ( lengthening days ) so good groom and also applied the weekly honey product to her feet that 🤞 prevents her getting thrush in the boggy conditions. She has far more products than I do!
Home, cup of tea and watched Gosford Park which was like a who’s who of British actors.
Capt S back from travels, easy tea of some of that rtc ham joint plus a fried egg.7 -
Hello all - long time no see 'again'
Haven't read back very far but hope all are well.
Hugs SuffolkSue - such a tough day.
Pleasures for december, pre-christmas
1. My new kitchen is coming along a pace. Plasterboard makes such a difference to a shocking wall
2. a visit to Krakow for my birthday - fabulous place. We did visit Auschwitz - although not on my birthday - humbling, moving
3. lovely pressies and a meal out with family when we got back
4. Christmas got organised, again, somehow. Most of it done before the trip away.
5. A clear scan of my Urianary tract was a relief, although no nearer to any answers
Christmas
1. A lovely day on christmas day. DD came to stay a couple of nights. lovely pressies, good TV, good walk with DS
2. OH got over his boxing day norovirus very quickly given how ill he looked - he was ok again by Friday lunchtime
3. No-one else got the Noro
4. I went to See Better Man twice - once on Boxing Day with DD and once the Day after with DS. Loved it
5. A visit to MiL's on 30th (delayed due to Noro) where we saw wider family
And new Year
1. I'm not a huge fan of new year but we spent it with friends in ICT which was nice
2. Kitchen got some paint on the walls
3. No kitchen meant we 'had' to eat out and then have fish and chips the next night
4. A trip through the hills to the tip (it's miles away) on a bright sunny day
5. Meeting up with school friends in London yesterday.
Happy New Year all.I wanna be in the room where it happens7 -
Hello! Had a headache yesterday so had taken myself to bed early ( although niece called just after I’d climbed into bed!) so didn’t post my Saturday pleasures.
day started with a touch of ice skating…pavement was horrendous! For the early morning doggy walk…nearly fell a few times.Went to garden centre with DD1 for a cheese scone…and Lo and behold it was just cheese…no add ons!Went to beach town for a mooch round charity shops. Whether it’s the time of year but all a bit meh! Got a lovely gingham cushion cover ( didn’t want insert) and a pack of Christmas cards. And home. And generally felt a bit blah as head was sore. Dozed but was still aware of ache. And today woke early and felt much better. Had a nicer early morning doggy walk…crunchy rather than slippery.
Went to caravan park this afternoon for a good run with both dogs. Was cold but dry.Home and went to supermarket, met someone I know and stood and chatted for ages ( oh what about your house? ‘ ( I am so over that question but try and smile!)
DD1 made fajitas whilst I hung up another load of blooming washing! And we had RTC rhubarb tart for pud. She’s went to see DD2 and I’ve made my bed and put all my clean clothes away.Planning on watching Call The Midwife…and by the time the series ends it’s so much lighter!Just done a tiny bit of work admin, invoice sent and next two services folders prepped.Only three full days left with my girl.8 -
Didn't want to read and run, so with small signal some miles away
SuffolkSue -
So hard for you. I think of Mhags too on her particular days.
All blessings to you both and to others who have days that they remember.
