1) choir is back so a good sing
2) friends round to celebrate epiphany - 1 brought her 2-year old twins who are adorable but quickly reminded me my house is no longer child-proof!
3) good excuse to bring the playmobile train down from the attic
4) then lift to town for the choir epiphany party
5) which of course ended up with a sing-song - I led 12 days of Christmas complete with actions - I gave the younger ones the earlier days!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hugs Suffolk Sue
1 Some items out of the door today, a fleece that was scratchy, a top that has been washed passed its life, and I’ve had a dressing gown now for 25 years and now it’s not comfy, so today DH treated me to a new one from Costco, it’s lovely I wonder if it will last.
2 We did go out as we needed some bits and tried to buy a bit extra to go out less. I did pick up some half price pork chops, which marinaded over night and are now portioned one for tomorrow and 3 meals in the freezer. I also picked up 2 packs of wonky peppers marked to 20p when I sorted through at home, there’s just a half of one that’s not okay.
3 Nestle our old as time ferret had the worst wobble, but he decided to stay, and I fed him every few hours through the night. He’s still here today.
4 I was mesmerised by the sliver of moon, but still being able to see the full moon and Venus the other night
5 I have leftover pears and kiwis so I chopped and mixed with cinnamon and brandy, and created a crumble topping so as not to waste and while I wouldn’t have thought it goes together the house smells amazing served with crushed brandy snap and the remains of the fresh cream.
6 We tried a taste test on some rtc crumpets and tried Kirkland vs Nutella and there was no difference in taste, other than Kirkland’s ingredients are sunflower oil and Nutella uses palm
7 We saw the snow lay last night, but it was gone by morning.

Thank you all for the messages and hugs ,they really helped.
in real life it seems that people think I should have “ moved on / got over it “ I’m not sure you ever really do and 363 days of the year I’m ok but …
any way ,had a lousy night but a better day today ,
kitchen looking much better ,
a couple of bags ready for the CS and I am proud a decision was made that I really don’t need 3 teapots so one going .
A patch of wall paper that was behind the wall hanging tv in DH room that wasn’t removed when I had the room redecorated ,but now shows following relocation of tv to my bedroom has been scraped off ,with difficulty .
Trying to figure out how to remove the rawlplugs so I can fill the holes before painting ,sure DH just used to put a screw driver in but when I try nothing happens !
Generally more active today but v breathless on exertion and still coughing and washed out .Fed up with it now been going on for a month despite antibiotics !
pleased NEstle pulling through again PK ,I’m always fascinated by the stories of the ferrets .8 -
Hello.
Just back from our trip to the very wet south, we have now returned to the frozen north!!
Not had time to read your happenings and pleasures in any great depth yet but just wanted to say how very sad, Suffolksue, no wonder you had a bad day. I find it hard to believe anybody would think you could ever move on from, or get over, the loss of a child - learn to live alongside it maybe, but even that must seem impossible some days. I'm so glad you are posting here again, such a supportive place to be, and I'd like to add a hug from me too x
I'll catch up tomorrow, hope everyone is ok and staying safe in the bad weather.
Night night all.9 -
SuffokSue - have you tried screwing a screw into the rawl plug and then using pliers and a bit of wiggling?
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Tree down, out and sawn up - most of the needles have been dealt with. I've loved having a real tree and intend the same for this year.
2. getting on top of the laundry before we go away again
3. slept in until 8 o'clock. Unheard of these days
4. steak for tea - yummy
5. watched call the midwife.
enjoy your days all,I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Hello. Up early. Then had to just about ski up to DD2 to collect her dog…no snow just much slippiness.
Went to beach with my doggy and DD1…absolutely freezing but so beautiful.
The Pups walk was delayed so he just had to stay home and was picked up later.
Id seen a lovely wicker basket in charity shop in beach town on Saturday so chanced it might still be there which it was.
Ventured into the garage…we’ve been saying for days we’ll do this and it hasn’t happened yet. I’ve still a pile of boxes to empty but then I remembered why I’d slowed down…it overwhelmed me. Brought a pile of photos in to look at.Had RTC pie and beans for tea. DD2 picked up her dog. DD1 went through her baby box.7 -
Take care of yourself, SSue.
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) A massive sleep, until 10.30! Had an absolutely rubbish day at work yesterday (silly colleague) so was very tired.
2) Sent my friend's son a voucher for his 18th birthday. Just found his card in my car...
3) Had some mincemeat left so I grated an apple and made apple and mincemeat toasties.
4) Went to work which was fine.
5) Just getting organised with bits of paper all over the dining table. There are so many community events on here and very low numbers at all. So I have written down the days and times of the free art class, the community cafe, the weekly drop in for healthy eating advice/talks and the cheap cafe in the church. I already go to a coffee morning and free badminton when I can!
6) Just booked my holiday time off so I don't lose it. Cheekily chosen so I take 3 days off to get 10 days off in a row in both February and March. This leave me about 10 hours left for emergencies.
7) Have messaged another tiler so I can have a second quotation.6 -
Thanks Frith and hope you don’t have to work with the difficult one again soon
Much better night and went to pick up DGS who has successfully decluttered the two teeth ,much easier than last time ( 2 more removed a month ago .) now the braces can be repositioned ..after two hospital admissions to remove impacted teeth and 5 out in the surgery think that is the lot .
poor lad has been seeing orthodontists for 9 yrs now and having active treatment for 4 was all delayed by Covid .
There are many things I’m glad he inherited from DD ( his mum) but her crooked teeth wasn’t one of them !,Spent many years visiting orthodontists with her .
He’s staying tonight so will take him back tomorrow.
Had a nice evening and meal with him ,amazing how much he could eat once the local wore off !
good runs each way although rained non stop .
hope Nestle is continuing to improve

@Purple_kitten - Hope Nestle gets better. Pets don't know how to tell us what's wrong.
People do, but don't always do what they know they should - roommate Di was told to go to emergency room on Saturday, didn't until Sunday. Not only kept her overnight in the ER - but she is now on her way to a nursing home for a few days.
Sister called to say she is having carotid artery surgery in February. I don't take my own advice always - been putting off hiatel hernia surgery. May also have to have surgery on the lower back. Not looking forward to it of course. Trying to work out driving schedules and buses. Our bus system is awful.
Actually envy the rain - we have had 1//16th of an inch since July. We are officially a desert.
Having a big storm crossing the US (except for our area down here) with lots of snow and rain. Hope it misses all of you.

No pleasures I’m afraid just many happy and, right now, bittersweet memories of a beloved pet.
After being relatively stable for the last couple of months small dog deteriorated rapidly during Sunday and yesterday we took the very sad decision to say goodbye. Our lovely vet came to the cottage so no having to endure a last visit to the dreaded surgery but snuggled in her own bed, with her Mum & Dad right there with her.
She’s been with me for 13 and half years, my constant companion and a little heartbeat at my feet, my heart is broken.7
