@LaineyT - so sorry to hear the sad news about little dog. Sending you big hugs. It was better for little dog to pass with you by its side at home - for you and little dog. Take care.7

Dear Lainey: so sorry to read about your little dog, your love shone through 😘
Recent pleasures:
upset tummy seems to have settled down.
Went swimming yesterday and did 44 lengths, my best for ages. So glad to be able to do this as walking is quite difficult.
OHs first day of semi retirement yesterday (working every other day, 3 days a week). Will take some getting used to as he seemed to be in my way when I was trying to get ready to go swimming etc 🤣
Managed to sort out logging in to our pensions (not easy) and OH has a zoom appointment arranged to try and access some of his money!Welcome, quiet lie in this morning and meeting BF for lunch later.
OH and I are probably going to the coast at the weekend to suss out a few potential new homes, exciting but daunting 😊
Have a good day everyone. Hug 🤗 for Lainey.6 -
Good morning. Frosty but bright so that's much better than endless grey.
@weenancyinAmerica - those wild fires look dreadful.. Keep safe x
Back in routine now. Shopping, cooking, cleaning etc. I often remember to feel grateful for that.
Saw the final two of Vera. It's been an excellent series, though strangely I never really took to the books. Love the Shetland books though. Must be me.
Meat and tatie pie today. We've been having lots of hefty meals in the wintry weather. That and the Christmas chocolates mean that I'm feeling more than a little hefty myself. Ah well. Diet Starts Monday! Again!
My Christmas jigsaw is coming along. Slowly. Should be done by Easter 😂
Keeps me out of mischief and I can listen to the radio/ podcasts at the same time.
Happy frosty day everyone

Hello everyone.
Settled back at home now after a busy Christmas (feels a long time ago!), New Year and brother's birthday celebrations. It was lovely but so is 'real life'. Actually, this should be pleasure 1).
2) I, too, thought about Lainey and little dog all day yesterday and how all the support here which has helped me so much was hopefully a comfort to her also.
3) Still snowed in pretty much. The roads are icy but passable but the pavements are lethal so no much-needed walking but at least we are safe and warm indoors, stocked up with fruit and veg and the freezers are positively bursting. The boys have been busy so we have snowmen of various sizes adorning the garden, none of which have started thawing yet.
4) Hubby drove me to chub club yesterday evening and I was very pleased to have lost 1.5 pounds over the festivities. Had tried to be careful but always difficult when away so that was a pleasant surprise. Onward and downward hopefully. I saved my lovely advent calendar and will reward myself with one box per pound for the next 25 pounds.
5) Some winter hobbies on the go while I sit and admire the snowmen and enjoy the blue sky and sunshine, lovely after the recent heavy, white skies.
Glad your GS has recovered, Suffolksue, sounds like he's been through the mill with his teeth.
Have a good day all.6 -
Hello. Sat in front of the fire, just about to put macaroni ( DD1 fave) in the oven.
Up late! Oh my goodness…I woke at 7.40am (had last seen 4.40am and thought I’ll try and stay in bed…zzz)
Massage at 9am of the ouchy kind! Mostly work done on my shoulder, which feels slightly looser than it did. But it’s all very tender. Have cupping marks!Sent off the second draft of last night’s work and all okay! Just two tiny changes. No further changes to be made. The lesser spotted boy child called.Home and grabbed a daughter and a doggy and off we went to the beach. It was glorious in a -1o kind of way! But beautiful blue sky.Popped into nieces work for DD1 to say goodbye. And home ( past my woulda shoulda coulda house…😔
Chat to sister.
Fire on.A teeny tiny flurry of snow.
Lovely gentle sunset.6
