Bedtime! ( back to work tomorrow!) alarm set just in case I sleep in 😆
Early schmearly and very cold and frosty .
Went big walk down the woods.
popped in to see DD2
chat to sister
Chat with neighbour across the road.
Went to get a new phone ( and all the blooming reset that’s involved)
watched Traitors with DD1 tucked up in my bed with a laptop leaning against a dog!8 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to Waitrose for a pot of tea and to get cat food and cat milk.
3) A lady left me a voicemail about a free weekly thing where you go for exercise and recipe ideas. And the necessary free cup of tea!
4) I changed mine and smaller son's phone contracts to cheaper ones (thanks to the MSE page) so we will pay less per month and also get a £65 Amazon voucher. I deserve an OBE at least for the effort that took this afternoon.
5) Smaller son cooked pasta for tea. I cooked a banana, date and walnut cake. I haven't made that for ages. I don't think I've cooked it since moving house.
6) Really enjoyed the second episode of The Traitors.6 -
brrrrrrrr. ill doggy ill again - this time sick over my slippers - so small meals for him.
Pleasures for today
1) blursday started with piano practice - just need to keep it up when I go back to work!
2) decluttered 6 items including a pair of shoes that have never been comfortable
3) another of the items was a 6' artificial tree we bought for xmas 2020 to have in the porch as well as the one in the sitting room. we don't have one in the office so took it in
4) caught up on Dr Who and 2nd episode of SAS rogue heroes
5) phone calls with dd2 and dadMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Went into town this morning and in the flowery supermarket got a Christmas ham reduced from £25 down to £6.25 seemed a good deal as this is 1.1 kg and pre packs are £3 + for 130 g I see a lot of ham eggs and chips in my diet ,but it’s in date for a week and freezable so will slice it tomorrow
Then went to local Turkish restaurant for lunch with my v depleted wine group ( half on holiday or in hospital )
came home and fell asleep in the chair ,so not much else done at all ,now in bed it was cold up .Still coughing8 -
For yesterday,
Cold, cold and having to de-ice my car first thing, there’s not been many of those so far this winter.
Into horsey town and met a friend for coffee.
Some sunshine in the afternoon but temperature still very low, the beautiful grey one had obviously enjoyed some zoomies around her field as she had a muddy belly! Washed down, groomed and snuggled up into her stable. The 50g liner was added to her rug as temps were meant to drop very low overnight.
Small dog had her V E T appointment for monthly injection, all sorted and medication ordered, lady on reception tried to charge us £500+ until her colleague pointed out that she had entered 6 boxes in error, my face must have said it all!
Last ever episode of Vera, done very well I thought.7 -
Good evening! It’s so blooming cold here.Gentle sunrise
Defrosted car this morning with a very heavy but pretty frost on. Off to work I went taking my time as some roads hadn’t been gritted. Got to work in plenty time.Nice service for a lovely family.
Home and quick change and out to lunch with DD1 to one of my favourite places. Had pate and then lasagne. And home!Took another work call so that’s in the diary. And spoken to the family to make arrangements to meet them.Hoovered.Cleaned out car ( would usually do it before a service not after but not been the right kind of weather!)
And that was about it! Don’t need tea as had a big lunch!8 -
very cold here today ,a heavy frost looked lovely in the sunshine
got some more decoration down .
still coughing and washed out so not much else done at all,
have tried to increase my fluids in the hopes it will help .
Bit fed up over 4 weeks now .6 -
Good morning. Very quiet weather here today. Let's hope it stays that way.
Very little to report really. Still in that strange limbo land ( not the dancing sort😂) even though new year's day has been and gone.
House is mainly back to rights. Just the little tree with special decorations to dismantle now. I'm leaving one set of fairy lights on a plant because it brightens a dark corner. And one set of rose quartz lights along a shelf because I like them. And think it might be good Feng Shui or somesuch!
Meals are also getting back to normal. Brisket today. With apple pie for afters. We have been given so many chocolates I have sorted them by 'use by ' order. But I feel sure they will all be eaten by November, the latest date.
Trying to find a new craft project to engage me but for now, doing my 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle Santa brought me.
Happy Saturday everyone

For yesterday,
Cold, cold start so more car scrapping. Felt awful as small birds were searching for their normal food in the apple tree but after we had seen a couple of rats there the day before the feeders have been removed and a bait box put down. Part of country life we know.
Last day of beloved’s festive break so the treat of breakfast out at the farm shop, bit of a stock up from the butchers counter as well.
Bit of pottering around and setting the cottage straight ahead of the weekend.
At the yard, girlie was snug as a bug in her rug but anxious to come in for her hay. She actually stamped her foot and broke some ice that had formed in the rutted earth as if to say hurry up Mum, it’s cold out here!
Easy tea of steak burgers in buns with salad.7
