Saturday hooray (last Sat and Sun was conference so we reached today absolutely cream crackered!)
1) the MRT - very easy to use
2) my mask - turns out the smell of durian makes me feel sick but the mask certainly helped
3) a free lunch (though admittedly we had spent $40 SGD on a ticket to the singapore time capsule and flier which we thoroughly enjoyed) - all we had to do was fill in a questionnaire about the experience - soft eggs and toast
4) the cool of the shopping mall - a very strange pleasure for December but goodness it's hot here
5) our host ordered in pizza which we had with a very nice saladMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep - hoorah!
2) Off to floody town. Did the charity shops but bought nothing. Also went to the barbers to pay for the haircut the other day when I was changing bank accounts and my card wouldn't work.
3) Met up in Wetherspoons (quite a nice one!) for breakfast with 7 friends. Stayed until about 2.
4) Went to Waitrose for a few bits.
5) Smaller son and I decorated the tree.
6) Watched the final of Strictly.
7) Smaller son and I just watched to Tesco.

Pretty tree Frith
For yesterday,
Bit of a lie-in with a cuppa in bed.
Made a loaf and finally got around to writing the few cards that I still send.
Spent the afternoon at the yard, being a Saturday I had to wait for a space in the schooling facilities so she munched on hay while I caught up on chores and chatted with fellow owners. We finally got in at 3.30 and she worked well. Drove home with the nearly full moon very bright in the sky.
Made some winter slaw and we had that with pizza.
Second part of this week’s Dalgleish and some cherry liqueur chocolates.7 -
Morning all.
Lovely tree, Frith. I hanker after a real one but underfloor heating would dry it out too quickly. Cut flowers die off for the same reason. Just love the smell of a real tree though.
Not been far or done much really, just steadily recovering - actually that's a big pleasure in itself so that's 1)
2) Got my hair done, definitely look 10 year younger! Can't see me going happily grey for some time yet, maybe when I've grown up.
3) Came back in the nearly dark, the Christmas lights round us are lovely this year.
4) Always thoughts of my mum and dad at this time of the year as they loved Christmas. Even when things were tight they gave us a lovely childhood, we never doubted that family was at the heart of everything they did.
4) Some nice things happening this week to look forward to. Will need to pace myself and rest when necessary but a couple of weeks ago I couldn't have even thought about it so can definitely see progress has been made. Hooray!
A quiet Sunday here, a bit of pottering, cosy afternoon with a couple of new library books, easy tea and the last episode (I think) of Wolf Hall.
Have a good day whatever you are up to.

Good afternoon. Grey!
Dundee Doll - I'm very envious. I know it's work but it's great that you're getting around too. Singapore is one of my favourite places and I'd love to go back one day.
Was watching Wolf Hall last night ( on catch up, but I think it's the last one, Highdays) when the tv went off. At first we thought the tv had died because all the lights in the lounge at the moment are fairy lights on batteries. Eventually we realised it was a power cut. Message from Northern Power said it was likely to last until 11:15pm so we went to bed. I seem to remember it doesn't end well for Cromwell anyway😂
Today we're going to a local Christmas fair with DS and littlest DGD. If we can get in! If not, a stroll round the gardens at our nearby garden centre.
Crossed off jobs on last week's to-do list and there's only one to carry forward to this week. Deliver local cards. This has always been DH job but I'm not sure he can manage it this year. Perhaps he can do our little cul de sac and I'll do the further away ones.
Right. About 30 minutes left to rest before we go meet DS
Happy Sunday everyone

I do realise how very lucky I am @Happycas
lovely tree @Frith
1) went to Gracie Barra Jiu Jittsu with my travelling companion - she did a class and I sat with my flask and book in the waiting area 😎
2) at 11 I asked if she was doing another class - yes she said so I trotted off past Raffles to St Andrews Cathedral for their 11:30 communion service which was lovely
3) colleague decided 3 classes would be a bit much so instead finished at 12, showered and we met just outside Raffles - good timing
4) finished book #3 (another death in paradise) and have left with host
5) tonight we watched men in black international - good fun - and now I'm in bed!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to work from 8-12. Had my appraisal (again) and helped someone who had had a heavy night last night and was being very ill in the toilet!
3) Played some chess online and tidied up.
4) We put lights around the living room window and I put up a garland my sister bought me a year (or 2) back with pheasant on.
5) I did HM chicken nuggets for tea.

Still en route back from Hitchin and here's a spot with signal. Have also caught up the last 3 pages, so🤲variously to you PK, Mhags, Frith, for all I have read.Recently -1. Things sorted for young friends, late new parents recently, whose tinies will have their 1st Christmas. Drop off tomorrow.2. Settled and content re: Christmas Day decision, as previous decade days no longer extant. It will suit & very well to tootle off, spend the day peaceably solo, with provisions of choice.🫶3. Was asked last minute to do today's Morning Prayer reading. For all sorts of reasons, words felt very right. Two difficult days next week, one of real sorrow, still in disbelief.4. Next, drove over an hour to support our Women's 1st XV v Hitchin. Great victory 47-21. Luckily wasn't held up as yesterday, on way to Cambridge RFC, to support our Men's 3s. Quy roundabout, Lainey.
Police closure again. Big car on side, 5 ambulances. & arrived, match over, but all elated after a good win, down 19-5 at half-time! Now topping their League.🦚🏉👏
4. Hwbs are a constant joy, along with radio and a wide variety of listening, including NZ Black Caps bowling Albion out for little numbers, hopefully taking this 3rd and final🏏 Test as consolation. Dropped catches lost the first 2 matches.....5. Old school friend's very, very, very prem. grandsons will celebrate their 4th Christmas, something to be incredibly thankful for. More special 25 December vid. is promised, from a blazing Aotearoa summer.
