For yesterday,
A wet & windy day so one for hunkering down at home and not doing much.
Radio listening, DID with Ebony Rainford-Brent and of course the Hurchers omnibus.
Book reading, The Last Seance and other spooky stories from Ms Christie.
Did make a big batch of red cabbage, we had some with our lunch and the rest was frozen.
Candles lit, mince pies and feeling safe & warm at home.8 -
Good afternoon
Cold here and raining again but missed the worst of the storm here so very grateful for that.
Met a friend for coffee this morning at a local retail park then went to Marks there for some Christmas bits. By the time I left about 11:15 the car park was totally gridlocked. Not even sure why! Just Christmas shopping I guess. Took me ages to get out. Note to self. Avoid until after Christmas!.
Met DD and husband yesterday back from their Caribbean cruise honeymoon. They'd had a great time and it was so lovely to see them again we even braved the evil weather!
I'm engrossed in an excellent Robert Harris book, Conclave. I know almost nothing about Roman Catholic procedure ( strict Methodist upbringing!) But he manages to explain it, while still telling an engaging story.
Highpoint of this week will be attending two nativity plays. DGS (10) is an old woman ( no, I don't know either ) and DGD (4) is an angel. From past experience I should probably start queuing now for tomorrow night's performance!
Happy not-very-happy-weather day everyone

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep - hoorah! No storm noise.
2) In a grumpy mood this morning so I drove to Ludlow. Stopped off at the little town on the way and the charity shop had a Joules jumper with pheasants on plus a Mantaray dress. And the dress was reduced to £3.50!
3) Looked round the charity shops in Ludlow but bought nothing. The tree in the square had been trashed by the weather so they had cherry pickers putting it back up. I had lunch in Bill's Kitchen.
4) Went to work. Not very nice woman continues. After 5 minutes of criticism she didn't talk to me for the rest of her shift. I think that was supposed to upset me. It was great! We were all given a box of nearly out of date cheeses.
5) Just ate most of the cheese with smaller son.8 -
Well hello there Chloe, look at those little baked bean feet!
For yesterday,
Rough night due to small dog’s toilet accidents so decided on a steady day and took it easy.
Did go into horsey town for a few bits and boy was the emporium’s car park busy, suspect because it’s free and accessible to walk to town centre from, shop itself was quiet.
Big bowl of soup for lunch, much needed on such a cold, grey day.
Over to the yard and horses were all charging around including the beautiful grey one, probably due to being in for a couple of days while the storm did it’s thing. My girl was over the other side of her field but when she saw me she spun and galloped over, stood well back so I didn’t get covered in mud! She however was splattered up to and including her tummy 🙈 love love our hot wash.
Bit of quizzing then an early night for all of us.

catching up on the hurchers now - poor Alan!
hatters are not having a good time BOP
1) another wonderful breakfast of different thai dishes on steamed rice
2) and today's new-to-me juice was lemon grass
3) after a long morning of working online a lovely read by the pool then in for 32 lengths
4) a lovely dinner in the hotel dining room with the resident pianist - he played a wonderful version of over the rainbow for me
5) then a wander round the courtyards of the hotel which they've been decorating for Christmas - lots of small bird ornaments and twinkly lights.
and now an early night for an early morning - they're picking us up from the hotel at 7am m'eh.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
