Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) A lie in - hoorah!
2) Went to town after lunch to find bits for Christmas stockings but didn't get anything in the end.
3) Had a pot of tea in M and S.
4) My brother came for tea and I made shepherds pie and peas and he brought apple and blackberry crumble.
5) Watched the Manchester United game (2-1)
6) My brother put the Christmas tree in a bucket so at least it is in the house now, if not decorated!

1 And there we go again, the vet was only half joking as I paid the £210 for today’s bill that is beans on toast for us this Christmas, Fuses problems returned with urgency thankfully for want of better words before the holidays… And we are back tomorrow with 2 more poorlies. I mean – really!
2 We took ourselves to a very nice lunch as its near to the vet, there was baileys in hot chocolate which felt very decadent for lunch, and cranberry stuffing turkey panini, sitting ensconced on a sofa, and blethering to anyone who wanted to chat.
3 We went through the Christmas lights and a whole bag which is about 5 sets of lights going to the tip.
4 From the freezer to the oven fish and chips.
5 Enjoying starting to get some sparkly lights around, and the net of lights up at the window, the tree is up at the window but not decorated yet.

Good morning. We seem to be back to grey days here!
Lainey - we've caught up with Shetland too. I still miss Jimmy Perez, and Duncan but kept watching cos I was worried about the little boy. And it's still better than most other things on tv!
The nativity plays were great. DGS was an old lady/ grandma. There were 3 grandmas and 3 grandads and they formed a sort of Greek chorus, making wry comments on the action. DGD was a very pretty angel with a slightly wonky halo because daddy had caught it as he lifted her into the car. All added to the charm!
Otherwise it's been working through the pre-Christmas to-do list. We're supposed to be going low key this year but there still seems to be lots to do. But I love it really!
I re-installed the wreath after it was nearly blown off the wall. It survived surprisingly well with only a couple of sprigs of eucalyptus coming adrift.
Had some lovely 'yellow fish' ( smoked haddock) for tea yesterday. It's not bright yellow like it used to be and much nicer for it. And a very good Aldi mince pie for afters. I used to make mince pies by the dozen every year, but not now! Part of the low key approach.
Might go to a Christmas market at the wildlife park this weekend. We were contemplating going to York but couldn't face the thought of all the crowds.
Happy Friday everyone

I’m just quickly writing my Thursday pleasures and I will read back on yours after…because it’s dark it feels earlier than it actually is!Up early.Quick congratulatory chat with DD1…she had just completed her Masters! And was out celebrating.Went to caravan park via garden centre for a take away scone and 3 bags of kindling. We had a lovely happy walk. It’s been a few weeks since I was last dons and I just miss the space and peace it gives me and my doggy boy. Brought home some bits and pieces like hand soap and washing up liquid that I’ll use here and tea towels and towels. All washed and dried. It was so cold…the spare bottle of water I had ( my water supply so drained and off over winter) was actually frozen solid!I had a bag and a pair of scissors and snipped of bits from a tree that had fallen across the carpark. Enough to make my Christmas wreath. The base of which I’d bought in a charity shop last year for about a pound. So made my wreath in about 15 minutes with Christmas music on, added some ivy and rosemary from the garden and added a pretty ribbon that I’d kept off a Christmas candle. Job done for zero pennies!Big chat with sister on phone.Big chat with friend on phone later.Had popped into supermarket on way back from CP…told the dog I won’t be long and he just looks at me like yeah right! Met four different people to have a quick chat to!Had a macaroni thingy for tea with some leftover garlic bread that was in the freezer.Tiny bit of work prep for today so I’m all ready for my last of five services in 11 days!Right I’d better get a wriggle on! Have a lovely day!9

Huzzah for DD1 Mhags 🎉
For yesterday,
Quick trip into the village for some fresh bits from local store, saw our volunteer coordinator and had a chat.
Onto garden centre as they stock nice cards and found a good one for Capt S.
Over the morning I realised that was getting a sore throat ☹️ so made myself a honey & lemon.
My pony was waiting for me and anxious to come in, wadded through the mud and said hello to my girl. This time of year becomes a bit of a slog for horse owners but keeping our minds firmly on spring helps.
Throat painful so didn’t want much tea, cold water helped and oh, a cherry liqueur chocolate, medicinal and all that!

Hello! An invisible ‘out of office ‘ sign is up! As in I’ve completed my run of five services in 11 days which has been a bit oooft! Nothing new booked in yet which is how it goes and I just wait for a phone call but I know I won’t be taking any services next week at this point (and I’m okay with that!)
Popped into supermarket on way to work to get some gifts. Was down in plenty time. Handed in a nice box of biscuits to crem staff as they have all been super lovely to me this year. Had a quick chat then time to go and work. Then headed back into town instead of homewards and dropped off some gifts at the main firm who give me business. Another nice chat.
Then went via friend who I knew wouldn’t be in and dropped off flowers at hers. Popped them in her recycling bin! And remembered to send a text! And then I went to old work and had a tuna baguette. Then it was home and hello doggy! I’m out of office…so let me get out my work clothes, let me put all my work stuff away. Let me switch off.
Chat to sister.
Lit the fire and Watched a film on channel 5 May have dozed and had to rewatch the end 😆
And had a toasted cheese scone from garden centre yesterday for my tea!
Popped out to deliver some Christmas cards will hopefully do the last 3 this weekend.8 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
A day of deep depression. Always worse when there is no reason for it at all.
1) A slightly better sleep. Probably 10 hours in total since last Friday.
2) Went to the coffee morning and had a few games of Four in a Square and 2 cups of tea.
3) Did a bit of cleaning when I got home and started wrapping.
4) Went to work and the manager had the problematic lady under his thumb today.
5) Bought a few more Christmas presents.
6) Tea from a batch cook in the freezer.8 -
1 Another vet visit, another 2 on antibiotics, I also filled in the paperwork for all of their health plans and sent a request to pay annully. This will be my third request, and this time I am pushing hard, as the costs in the last couple of months would nearly cover the costs now!
2 More twinkly lights are around in the hallway and some ornaments hung on the tree.
3 Made a hm burger for tea.
4 Seeing the woodpecker again on a bird feeder.

For yesterday,
Sore throat had subsided but left me with aches so everything seemed more of an effort.
Capt S had the day off so we headed into cathedral city but struggled to find much on our list. We were going to treat ourselves to a box of goodies from our favourites chocolate shop but it’s recently moved and just didn’t seem the same so came away again.Chat with DSIL and arrangements made to meet up.
Time spent with my horse.
Batch cooking, a slow cooked Bolognese sauce plus a chilli which we had for tea with a jacket spud.8
