Saw that on local news Amps, nasty stuff, hugs for the coming week.
For yesterday,
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.
A few more presents wrapped and the anticipated joy at seeing recipients reactions.
Treat of Sunday lunch out at our favourite venue, very enjoyable and I had a glass of red with mine so Capt S got to drive new mini for first time! 🚘
A stunning winter sunset, this time next week is the Solstice.
Another one who looked for the meteorite shower, moon was bright but nothing else seen.7 -
am now back in Thailand and getting weary. but 5 for today before i fall asleep
1) bid farewell to our host - very very generous of her to put us up for 3 nights
2) a smooth transit (though we left Singapore 45 mins late so were late for our pick-up)
3) we had a very nice meal - the world revolves round food far as i'm concerned
4) had a good chat via teams with work colleague - work is a trifle tuff at the moment so good to keep connected
5) i have the most enormous bed - bigger than a king. sadly i'll have to vacate it early as we're getting picked up at 8 by which time we need to have checked out and breakfasted. better get some shut-eye quick :-)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) A good sleep - hoorah!
2) Up to go to Argos to get a new computer steering wheel for smaller son. (His own purchase).
3) Too late to go to art class so went to the Colombian cafe for a cup of tea but it was shut due to an electrical fault. So I pressed on to Waitrose.
4) Smaller son and I had chicken and cheese toasties for lunch.
5) Not a bad shift at work.
6) We are now (back home) cooking a roast dinner!
7) Smaller son has already sold his old steering wheel!
8) Looking forward to 24 Hours in Police Custody (will watch on catch up after this mammoth meal is cooked) and also I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue.6 -
Up early.
Chat with DD1.
Friend called on her way to work but just a short call as I had to pick up DD2 for hospital appointment. Managed to get a space.
Dropped her off at home and then went to old work for a scone, met up with an old work colleague and sat and had a good chatter.Home and hello doggy.Got a work call…it’s for next year but I’m meeting family tomorrow. I’ve so much happening
later on in week so I’ll see them and get writing tomorrow…so much for putting everything away 😆
Made a late lunch/ early tea. RTC steak pie with parsnips, sprouts , peas, carrots and cauliflower.
Mobile library.
Walked up to pick something up near DD2 so popped in to see her and then went a dog walk with pup.
And local charity Santa came round this evening. Hurrah !6 -
I’ve only just discovered this thread. What a lovely idea this is!4

DD Enjoying reading your pleasuresFrith, Lovely tree, and glad to see puddy cat still around.
1 Oh my life, I know it may sound daft to be quite so happy about this, but we've won a butcher meat raffle, it is so much useful stuff, we are the lucky winners of a meat pack and Christmas pack, very glad we have freezer space now, it was a fiver to take part. I also explained how grateful we are as we’ve had a lot of animal health bills.
2 A day slowly catching up on all the housework, all done and clean bedding for us, a pleasure it’s all done again.
3 Finished decorating the Christmas tree.
4 While DH was batch making the animal food, the old Kenwood sighed and died, it has been fixed numerous times, dh cussing and trying to hand blend, then take the Kenwood apart the motor is done. The new ones do not appear to be built quite as well this 1970’s one, so he is currently shopping second hand ones on the well-known auction site, updated with he’s repaired the motor and so it keeps going.
5 Squirrels begging for food, so I caved, well it’s either that or all my bulbs get eaten.
For today
1 Something I found out I really wanted was out of stock, is back in, so I’ve ordered it up, it’s on sale at five pounds, reduced from thirty-six, but I would never have spent that on it.
2 Feeling a lot more presentable for a hair pack and face pack.
3 Filled all the bird feeders up, reordered in some bird food.
4 We are having Sunday today and not feeling guilty about it.
5 All leftovers into a pasta bake will be tonight’s tea.

Morning all. Not posted lately but recent highlight was Christmas Carols at the Royal Albert Hall with bestie. It was a coach trip so no hassle with public transport and good seats although it was still a long day but amazing!Must dash as I need exercise so must get up and go swimming, then shopping ☹️
Catch up soon , best wishes to all 😊5 -
Another one enjoying DD’s travel tales.
For yesterday,
We had some sunshine and small dog sat out in the back garden, holding her face up to it.
Mostly a chores morning but I did go out to get petrol in the car and succumbed to a festive sandwich for lunch, justified this by part of the cost going to Shelter charity.
With my horse, cosy in her stable with the sound of her munching on hay and lovely, woody smell of her shavings bed.
Capt S home and we chatted about our day, he’s been approached about another role which will mean some studying first but he’s cautiously keen.
The return of Strike and Robin, the IBH is a complicated book and I’ve been intrigued as to how they were going to adapt it for tv, good so far 👍

5) Played chess online.
