Lainey I can certainly relate, I’ve noticed good days and bad days also, today was neither really it was a wobbly day.
For today
1 A weird pleasure, there was the sadly perfect print of a bird in flight on the French windows, I looked around but there was nothing to be seen. It gave me the excuse to try out the HG cleaner I picked up on sale, and my word, it is very impressive.
2 I filled up all of the birdfeeders and all our favourites have returned, the flighty woodpecker kept gathering his guts, but any movement in the house and he’s off.
3 I got the Christmas cake ready for icing buy putting the marzipan on and letting it harden.
4 From the freezer to oven for breaded haddock, mini stuffed jackets, serve with some mixed veg and curry sauce.
5 I went through some bits, some have worn out and tidied up a bit.
6 We popped to aldii specifically for the vegetables and there was nothing, literally not a thing, just empty space. A bit of a laughable pleasure.

Hello. iPad battery was dead last night so here’s Wednesday stuff first.
Vets first thing. Improvement to eye but not quite fully healed so back we go on Monday.
Dropped him home then straight back out to be in at DD2 house to let some workmen in. Two nice chaps full of banter with each other as they worked. And home…hello doggies. Watched about 2/3 of The Greatest Showman which I’ve never seen before. Could sing all the words though!Had leftover pie and veg for tea
And a great big 2 hour chat with friend.
For today it was a very early start …me and a vomiting dog! In the very cold garden at half midnight. Didn’t quite make it outside so door mat is in the bin!Went into town very early. Got free parking space. And went to a few shops.Supermarket with a list of things to buy for DD1 who arrived here about 2.30pm…hurrah! Not seen her in just over 2 years so big squeezy hugs!
then she had to go out and buy new clothes as hers are not here! Luggage did not get on the plane with her! Should be delivered here tomorrow.
Roll and slice when she got here and macaroni for tea…then she was starting to droop so she’s off to bed and I’m going to make a start to Virgin River.9 -

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to the coffee morning. I took a present for my chess partner - a small wooden set of chessmen from about 1930 that I saw in a charity shop. Also took damson jam and chutney for everyone else that I made in the summer.
3) Did washing etc on my return.
4) Went to work at 4 and didn't stop! I held the big double doors open to the back of the shop for a man wheeling a very full combi cage of single, double and posh cream. There is a join in the flooring as you go through and he hit that awkwardly and about 400 pots of cream flew through the air and exploded on the floor, up the doors, up his trousers...We cleared it into bin liners but then the magic floor cleaning machine had to be fired up!
At clearing up time, I was in the loading bay and chatting to a man with a very strong Bristol accent and an excellent beard. I asked if he was a lorry driver and he said, "How did you know?" and I went completely to pieces and said, "Because you're very............... robust" Hopefully I won't bump in to him again!!
5) Sainsburys order came at 10 and we now have all the food for Christmas and lots of 15p bags of veg for freezing and soup making.
6) Am watching the Last Leg now.7 -
Although it's before 4 is Blighty it's nearly 11pm here so posting before I go to the land of nod

5) on the way back we stopped for hot pot where we got to cook vegetables and meat and fish in a metal pot with water over charcoal which was in the middle of the table. very yummy.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

2) Had a few mince pies.
3) Went to the football where our team won 2-0! 4 in a row. Had a free mince pie there as well.
4) Cleaned the kitchen a bit.
5) Shakshuka for tea.
6) Casualty is back on !!!7 -
1 Feeling good for having cleared out some things.
2 Quite a wait at the doctors for an injection, but already feeling so much better, talking to them about decreasing the amount of time between them, they need to do some tests as to why it’s not lasting.
3 Used up leftovers for lunch, and more used up leftovers in a pasta bake tonight.
4 The meat raffle winnings turned up today and all snaffled in the freezer no problem with room at all.
5 I did a bit of office tidying, cleaned up the sofas, got the wash loads done, moved a big vase to the tip load, a offered out a cut glass decanter to give away.
1 Nestle greeted a very happy mailman, Nestle then proceeded to explore around the front drive.
2 Changed our bedding, hoovered up and tidied a bit and then put it all to one side until Monday.
3 HM burger in a chilli bun, stuffed jalapenos and onion rings,
4 A loungy day really, reading, Christmas music in the background and brokenwood on TV. I’ve discovered another author to be read, this isn’t unusual I seem to discover new and wonderful authors every day.
5 I tried to gather an online food order together but it didn’t have the seasonal basics such as double cream so if I have to go into a store I may as well get it all.

Ooft what a last couple of days!A very ill doggy…of course at his own doing! I’d had two early wake up calls with him on Wednesday into Thursday and Thursday into Friday midnights with him being sick. Then on Friday afternoon ( after we had ascertained that lost luggage wasn’t being delivered ) we went out a big walk. Met one of my good friends so walked with her and then ended up at mums NDN as I was finally posting her Christmas card and she saw us so we went in for about half an hour. Anyway we were out about 1.5 hours…in which time unbeknownst to us the dog was mooching around in the spare bedroom and helped himself to a box of sweets (890g) and a pack of travel tissues. An hour after we arrived home dog became suddenly unwell ( and it wasn’t till 9pm I discovered the cause) and it was like something out of a vomit horror movie! Anyway we had to take him to vet as he was so ill. And she was lovely and thorough and started talking of scans and operations but was happy enough that we would watch and wait overnight and bring him back first thing. He had an anti-emetic injection.A rough night for me…he had vomited on the larger sofa so I couldn’t sleep on that. And he was squashing me off the extension sofa so I ended up on the chair with my legs hanging over the side! He was up quite a few times and the wind had picked up and a neighbouring gardens security light kept being activated by the wind so it was like being in a lighthouse with a huge beam of light every couple of minutes!Vets ( by this time we had discovered offending empty packages) and he was brighter than he’d been ( and he so loves the vets) so little and often and watch out for signs of pancreatitis. And back on Monday anyway for is eye check up.
So he was dropped off with DD2 and it meant we could go to panto as planned. Our local theatre is currently closed so the panto was in a Big Top! So we were on watch and wait to see if it would go ahead with the weather. Our weather was wild!! Show was good but a bit chilly. And just not quite the same as the theatre experience! And home and picked up a dog boy but DD2 needed me for something so took him and then walked back up to hers. Then home to a freezing house…eh DD1 just put on the heating!! Anyway I got that and the log burner going and we were cosy soon enough!Did a bit of watching with a wee snooze thrown in! Think we were all snoozing!
Watched the strictly show which was nice then went to bed and I appear ( as does the dog) to have slept through! However jetlagged DD1 had been downstairs ( freezing…put the heating on!) since 4am
It’s still wild outside. We are supposed to be at an outdoor event this evening which I’m hoping is cancelled as the reviews have been shocking! Last nights event was cancelled. And we have a lunch event with my little people in beach town which might be an interesting drive down!Have a lovely day!7 -
Good morning. Wind has dropped but it wasn't as bad here as further North anyway I think.
Mhagster - how great to have DD1 home for Christmas. And what a drama with your doggie! Keep that Christmas dinner well out of reach!
Out early yesterday to take DGS to his football match. DS had been to a party the night before so asked if I would taxi them both. A wise child!
I didn't stop to watch the match though. Whizzed off to Sainsbury's to get the last bits, cream etc. Couldn't resist the 15p veg even though we're out for lunch both main days. They're in the shed and will be used up in soup if nothing else
Really enjoyed the Strictly look back programme. It reminded me how much more I liked it in the early days before all the whooping😂 I do an awful lot of fast-forwarding when I watch it now!
Gentle day today I think. Bits of tidying, cleaning ,sewing today but nothing too energetic. Saving my energy for the big days!
Happy Sunday everyone6
