Pleasures for today (Boxing Day and Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did very little during the morning apart from play chess online.
3) Had the bagels, soft cheese and smoked salmon for breakfast that was for yesterday.
4) Went to watch our football team play in Hereford. They won 3-0 with some excellent goals. The ball was kicked off the pitch into the crowd in the second half. We caught it then I gave it to smaller son to throw back. He wanted me to do it. There was very little space between the heads of the people in front of us and the concrete ceiling/floor of the stand above us. So I threw the ball and it hit the concrete and bounced back and hit the man in front of us on the head. Even the security guard laughed!
5) Had some very nice muntjac steak for tea with LO veg, stuffing and gravy. Christmas pudding afterwards.8 -
Good morning. Back again!
Well, we've had a lovely two days being looked after by DD and DSiL on Christmas Day, and DS and DDiL yesterday. We've chatted, laughed, admired and played with the new toys and eaten far too much. In fact I don't think I'm going to eat again until 2025.
So now back to normal. Laundry, putting things away and not eating are today's priorities.
I hope all your days went as well as possible and that those who are struggling managed to find some joy, or at least some calm, amid all the festivities.
Happy normal Friday everyone6 -
started typing last night and clearly fell asleep! it was a very long journey home though. an unexpected visitor for Christmas mhags families can be strange places to inhabit. Good to catch up with everyone. I am doing Christmas today.
For Christmas Day
1) a lie-in - our last chance to be vertical for a while
2) Christmas dinner for breakfast (we'd foregone the Christmas Eve buffet and was pleased to see some of the left-overs on the 'special menu' slot)
3) the hotel's recycling policy, the reduction in food waste being one, the hydroponic farm next to the restaurant being another
4) a day of sitting by the pool and generally being lazy
5) the start of our long trek back with a very nice taxi to BKK then treating ourselves to the lounge and having a glass of bubbly
For Boxing Day
1) a smooth journey back, flight one 02:10am Thai time, enough time at Doha to not stress about transfer but not too long
2) getting some sleep
3) arriving an hour early meaning we had time for a cuppa and to catch the flybe bus 90 minutes earlier than the one we booked
4) a shower and a 2 hour sleep before supper
5) then pub with ds and his gf for the 8pm ko. they stayed for the first half as had another appointment at 9 then i joined MrG and DrM.
and a very good night's sleep till 7:15 this morning.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

For the last couple of days,
Up and at’em Christmas morning as, although there is staff cover at the yard, the more people that help the quicker all jobs get done. Capt S resurrected his poo shovelling skills and did girlie’s stable ( his choice ) while I did her water, feeds and hay nets. Left her with festive parsnips and treats.
Home, showered and changed, then opened presents. Family very kind and thoughtful with their choices for us.
Just the two of us plus small dog for lunch but all enjoyed.
Played games and read our books.
Messages and calls from loved ones, plus pictures of great nephew enjoying his present from us.
Some good tv, G&S of course but also Paul & Bob made us laugh.
Eaten good food and had a few tipples too.

Morning all. Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas 🎄
We had a quiet Christmas Day but son did turn up for Christmas lunch 🦃 which he said was “very good” ! After lunch he opened his stocking (he’s 37 🤣🤣) and we watched an old Christmas Gavin and Stacey. He left soon after and we watched the new G&S which was brilliant!OH did well with my presents (I’d sent him a few photos of bits in M&S and Tescos 🤣🤣).
Boxing Day was great, 15 of us and they all brought food and drinks to ease some of the work. We had all sorts of hot and cold food, pavlova and chocolate roulade for dessert (home made), loads of presents, silly games and quizzes! Everyone joined in and had a wonderful time, which really makes me happy 😊
We’re having a quiet day, clearing up and resting and off to Oxfordshire tomorrow to revisit Blenheim at Christmas and to stay a few nights.
We have enough chocolate etc to last for weeks! Diet maybe postponed until second week of January!
Have a lovely few days everyone 😊🥂6 -

Hello everyone.
Well, that's Christmas done til it all starts again in September 2025!
Had a lovely December and a very different Christmas, taking a back seat for the first time. Much less stressful, the younger ones did a great job and a good day was had by all. A quieter day for us yesterday but enjoyable as I much prefer Boxing Day to the 'big day'.
A few days of normality now and then to Wiltshire for a few days next week to celebrate my brother's birthday.
Hope you all had a good one and enjoy the last few days of 2024.

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) A Christmas present arrived from my college friend today.
3) Went to Waitrose to read my magazine and had 2 pots of tea. The cakes were reduced to 49p.
4) Made part baked rolls for smaller son's lunch plus the cheap cake.
5) Played chess online.
6) Back to work. I worked with the person who everyone finds difficult but I spent a long time living with a ME man so was not phased... Lots of food was very YS so I had packs of sausage meat for the freezer (10p each), garlic mushrooms and a very posh pudding reduced to £1.99.
7) Back here 8.30 and I made a roast dinner pie for tea (LO from Christmas) plus the garlic mushrooms.
8) Had £180 from NatWest just for changing my account to them.7
