Happy Birthday PK6
-
Good morning. The snow has almost all gone but blimey, it's cold!
Happy Birthday Purple Kitten. Sounds like a good day x
Decided to sort out fairy lights yesterday as I needed some for a project. Gathered them all together from house, shed , garage. We've more lights than Blackpool! Think I'll see if DD wants any. But she jets off to Miami today to join a Caribbean cruise for their honeymoon. Jealous? Moi? Cruise and hot! Perfect!
Meanwhile it's all soups and stews here. And puddings and custard. And not chocolate. I can virtually see the weight piling on!
Happy Friday everyone.

Happy Birthday PK 🎉🎂 x
For yesterday,
Lots of hunkering down here as very cold out, small dog does the quickest garden visit her old bones allow!
Trip into horsey town and enjoyed a coffee with my friend.
Started a new to me book, it’s by Deb Harkness, she of the Discovery of Witches series and very good.
So cold that I felt mean taking off girlie’s warm rug to exercise so left it on and we just had a walk around the field in hand to give her a change of scenery before tucking her up for the night.
Tea was a baked meatball and orzo made up thingy then stayed awake long enough to watch Ambulance.6 -
Highdays I hope all is well with you !Beautiful morning here in a cold and frosty kind of way! Crunchy underfoot early walk and a beautiful sunrise!Have a lovely day 💕7

Up early and out with doggy.Had a freebie massage today as I was a guinea pig for someone in training. She was very good! Walked there, it’s at least half hour each way. And of course I met someone in each direction! On the way back it was one of my husband’s good friends who was our usher at our wedding so had a nice chat with him. Very icy on way there but bit easier on way back.
Pup was here when I got home.
Fire on this afternoon.
Went to collect a desk ( going by measurements on advert I put the back seats down …wouldn’t fit in my car but she’s arranged for a neighbour of hers to drop it off tomorrow)
Chat to sister.
Chicken Kiev RTC for tea with peas and sprouts.
And just been out with pup and it’s like a blooming ice rink we had heavy rain and it’s frozen over.I’ll be heading to bed once pup is collected8 -
1 We haven’t done a weekly shop this week, and ran out of milk, so while out running a couple of errands I popped into Aldeee, and failed miserably when it comes to mse… The weekly shop worked out at about £30, but the festive shop, including the frozen turkey came to £30 also, oh and a couple of 99p garden fence pots very reduced.
2 A bit of a use bits up bowl of chicken pasta veg for tea tonight, honestly it was one of those meals that just didn’t work out/ it was horrible, but leftover takeaway was a tasty lunch.
3 Plodded on doing some essentials, various washing loads and a good amount of tidying, with a quick sweep and hoover about. And numerous not dry in a week things put in the tumble dryer, while I try in vain again hanging another load out.
4 Purchased two high quality tops for half price in the Black Friday madness, it’s a company I’ve used before, and their things are very good, a bit more cut to style, I purchased them last night as sure enough they are sold out today.

Hello everyone.
Well, there's been a lot of water under the bridge since I was last here, though I have been reading along and keeping up to date with your happenings.
mhagster - thank you for your kind thoughts and for spurring me on to take the plunge and come back to be among you lovely people.
There's no denying it's been a really tough few weeks but I'm on the mend now and slowly gaining strength and getting well again. Not too many pleasures have been had which is, I suppose, why I have been off the radar but there are some and there will be more.
Recent pleasures:
1) The wonderful people in the NHS who have cared for me with such compassion and kindness and infinite skill.
2) Finally getting home and in my own bed once more.
3) Getting stronger every day and for finally feeling I am out of the woods and making slow but very determined progress. Alternately weepy and grumpy but luckily the people who matter are very generously making allowances!
4) Sparkling sunshine on frosty snow.
Back to bed now but it really is lovely to be here once again. Hope you all have a lovely weekend x

Sorry to hear that you’ve been so poorly Highdays but good that you’re on the mend now 👍
For yesterday,
Cold and icy but we did have some sun which helps! The yard messaged to say that it was snowing over there and the horses were staying in so girlie had a duvet day.
Small dog had her hydrotherapy and come out wrapped in her spa robe, so cute.Met lovely friend for lunch, she’s had a rough old time after a heart attack a few months ago but thank goodness for the wonderful care from Papworth and is now on a phase back to work. We both had the soup which came with two small warm cheese scone and made me think of Mhags ☺️.Dropped into GC on way home to pick up more bird food, said hello to a very cute Cockerpoo puppy.
Reading my book and enjoyed a glass of red.7 -
Highdays, I’m so sorry you’ve been very poorly, but aren’t the nhs amazing. This thread is here through the good and bad.
1 There's a storm outside so it's time to do the festive cook up, there was an emergency shop run for flour, after I discovered the creepiness that is “weevils” yuck, luckily, I’ve never encountered them before. They really did give me the creeps. But the baking, the smell of the house, the music was all lovely. There’s cake, loaf cake and cupcakes
2 Beer battered haddock and chips from the freezer, with curry sauce.
3 Nearly forgot but remembered to change the ferret bedding and wash load with it.
4 I’ll admit I watched my first Christmas movie and loved the schmaltz – 19 kittens.
5 Yesterday we picked up a fifty percent off pukka 3 camomile tea, and sort of wish I hadn’t I have twining’s camomile every day, but this is superior, I will have to keep an eye out for sales as it’s pricey.
