Happycas, I hope DH recovers well.Frith, they look like right snugglers.
1 Can’t give away my bags of soil, so two went into the greenhouse soil and I moved the bags away from the front of the house as it looks scruffy. I also planted up a spikey plant on the back wall.
2 I’m apparently being treated today, something to do with desperation to save the roses and needing strulch, we went to one garden centre and picked up the strulch, then we popped to another to pick up my DB a long life cake as part of a hamper I’m building him, but it also had a luxury chocolate broken biscuit box that jumped into the basket and got opened up tonight.
3 We treated ourselves to lunch in the café which was a pasty and a drink.
4 As soon as we got back we put the mulch down to protect the plants from tonight. I also got another Rose planted, I picked up as it was reduced down to £5 and it said it's highly scented, but all tucked in the ground to see if it grows next year.
5 For dinner tonight I did what we had in, so burger in a bun, sweetcorn cobs and onion rings.

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) The cat was lying in the garage under the quilt where I had left her 7 hours before. Braced myself to deal with this sad loss. And again, her ear twitched and up she got. My nerves are shot!
2) Lots of snow this morning. It is still here now but slushy and messy.
3) Walked into town along some slippery pavements. Had a cup of tea in Costa.
4) Went round TKMaxx then some of the charity shops. Bought an game of 9 Men's Morris for £2.
5) Stopped at the little Tesco on the walk home for part baked rolls for lunch.
6) Collected my friend from the station and we had a cup of tea in M and S. Our other friend wasn't working there today which was a shame. Back to my house for more tea and we watched the Iraq v Oman game. His team won. (I only saw the first 15 minutes of the Wales game this evening but a good win for them).
7) Watched GBBO then I'm a Celebrity, from under the cat. I have moved her to one side so I can put the laptop on my knee.6 -
Feel your pain re nerves Frith, small dog isn’t always at the door when I come home nowadays and my heart is in my boots until I see her breathing!
For yesterday,
No snow here but oh my it was cold with no sun to warm things up, thick socks and jumpers.
Our feathered friends are hammering through the food especially the fat balls so it’s a daily job filling up the feeders now. After 17 years in the cottage I’m a known fixture in the garden and they are pretty tame, waiting in the low branches of the apple tree.
My girlie was standing at the corner of her field, ready to come in and calling to me as I come into view. Long groom in her stable as she ate hay which made me warm enough to take my coat off. Her coat is fine but quite thick.
Caught a programme called Walks with Nick Grimshaw and he was in Northumberland, walking along the river Coquet and around Warkworth, happy memories of our holiday there.
Watched Bake Off and this week’s treat was a warm Danish pastry.7 -
Hello…we had snow! Just a flutter but was a very nice flutter! There’s something just quite magical about snow ( when you don’t have to be out driving in it!)
Today’s plans were changed due to someone else’s circumstances changing so had a much quieter day than I’d anticipated
Very early doggy walk, we were out before the birds were even awake as he needed out. Was probably just half an hour earlier than normal but was ever so quiet.
Lay on sofa and had a wee snoozette. Then time to get up! So blooming chilly!Hoovered and washed floors! Did clean front porch glass but pup and his nose have been back against it!Fire on. Candles lit . Then snow started.Call from GP…this was to discuss blood results from 5 weeks ago! That’s how long I’ve had to wait for a phone consultation…
Made mince and tatties for tea with cabbage , sprouts, carrots, peas and mange tout! Oh and broccoli ( which I don’t love but it’s good for you!)
DD2 arrived to collect her dog but had her tea first!6 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) A little bit more snow overnight but the roads have been cleared.
3) Sold a dress on Ebay for £20.
4) My dad was 80 today so I went round there for some soup and to give him his present.
5) The cat is pretty much better now.
6) Managed to mend the dishwasher.
7) Smaller son and I walked to the small Tesco.
8) Looking forward to I'm a Celebrity.
Here is a photo of the back garden yesterday.

Looks pretty Frith, they had snow in Norfolk but nothing for us.
For yesterday,
Lots of bright sunshine but boy was it cold in the wind.
Warm in my kitchen though as I made sweet potato soup and got the stew into the slow cooker.
Lovely friend came with her mobile dog grooming parlour and tidied up small dog, she can’t cope with a full wash & clip nowadays but my friend does a good job.
Once again my pony was waiting for me in the corner of her field nearest to the yard, popped my hand inside her rug and she was warm enough but probably hungry for her hay. No washing of legs as hot wash is not to be used due to the run off water turning to ice so I cleaned her feet out and got her snuggled in for the night.
Home and the heating engineer was here fitting a new filter onto the Tiger Loop so no heat! Glad when he was finished and house was warm by the time we sat down to stew & dumplings, most welcome.7 -
Hello
just came up to bed though I’ll nip out with dog in a couple of hours after I’m a celeb. We’ve had heavy rain which has frozen so it might well be slippy.
Up early and out with dog. Crunchy layer of snow on the grass. Birds still sleeping.
Friend called on her way to work.
Pup dropped off.Mercy dash to DD2 with my laptop…long story 😆 anyway handed that in and walked to supermarket then walked long way home.
Then this is when the growling started…I had returned a TV box to BT on the 6th September via post office…ask me how I know the date? Trawled through old posts here. They are saying they haven’t received it and are going to charge me £140.00. I of course cannot find the receipt of posting. Lots of press buttons 1,2,3 etc chap said unless I have proof I will be charged. Went down town to PO …driving round like a blooming mad woman trying to find a blooming parking spot. Queued in post office to be told (nicely) nothing they could do without a receipt. Growled some more. I will deal with it tomorrow.Got a pair of gloves for 99p in charity shop (new). Dropped off the bag that was in the boot of my car.DD2 called me …had a happy birthday chat
Up the road.Quiet afternoon.DD2 picked up her dog.
Phoned new family and then they called me back. Meeting date arranged.
I’d bought some RTC mince pies…bit meh! ( still ate it!) gave it a 4/10
Hope you’ve had a lovely birthday PK 🎈8 -
Thanks, Mhags, it's been a lovely day, and a Happy Birthday to your DD.
1 I’ve just had a lovely birthday day out, we stopped on the way at what turned out to be a massive homeless charity shop with café and bits and bobs, where we had a cuppa, and filled a big bag full of books for a flat £3. We also spotted an amazingly well-made coffee table but in our talking about it, it was sold to someone else, it was that good.
2 We went for a stroll and explored around Samphire Hoe, then stopped and had a hot chocolate and bacon roll, while enjoying their proper log fire and reading their winter information. I also donated a pound in exchange for a snapdragon plant.
3 We then went up on the cliffs to watch the beautiful sunset and amble about a bit more, before stopping for a pizza eaten looking out at sea.
4 Home and there’s nothing like that first hot drink, and we had a big slice of chocolate birthday cake.
5 Well played Mountain Warehouse, I had various bits I left in the basket for the deals, which have taken them to below postage, by the same amount, so I may as well purchase something of the same value!

Happy birthday, PK.
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) The cat is much better now.
3) Went to Waitrose for a cup of tea and did 3 charity shops but didn't buy anything.
4) Posted an Ebay parcel.
5) Went to the nice bakers for 2 cakes and a spelt loaf.
6) Smaller son was in a good mood today. We played nine man's morris then he wanted to look at the Christmas decorations in the shops (it had to be in the dark) so we went to TKMaxx and M and S.
7) Watched An Extra Slice then I'm a Celebrity.7
