Hello , just put the last log of the night on. Haven’t had heating on today but it’s a bit cooler outside tonight. Last night was oddly mild. Been a damp and drizzly kind of day.Atrocious sleep so kind of glad to get up.
The prodigal son called, had a nice chat.Friend called on her way to work.
Pup dropped off briefly.
Bagged up a pile of things I don’t wear for charity shop but didn’t get that far and the charity bin at supermarket was overflowing so it’s in the boot of my car.
Long boots on…first wear of the season !
I went to workplace to drop off some vouchers for their Christmas charity collection. Had a good blether!Supermarket on way home. A few things RTC though I did treat myself to full price yellow roses! And that was me home. Wrote a list of things to do and all that’s left is wash the floors.
Pup dropped off again.
When I was passing by the mince pies in supermarket I’d messaged DD1 ‘have you had a mince pie yet?’ I could almost hear the horror of the reply! No…it’s not even my birthday yet!
Cuddles with my old dog boy this afternoon. Told son this morning that he can’t jump up anymore and he made a very sad awh sound. Still plenty life in him but just slowing down. ( when I say jump up I mean on his back legs as if standing which he would do to give you a cuddle! Or to reach a worktop! But can certainly still jump on a sofa and snuggle up on my knee.DD2 and I shared a takeaway portion which she paid for. And she’s just gone with her puppy dog boy…and the first thing I did was clean the glass on front porch! He sits with his nose on the glass! And then I just enjoy the peace.7 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Good time at the coffee morning, playing a new board game.
3) Went to Waitrose afterwards and did the prize crossword in the free newspaper.
4) Played chess online.
5) Had my first meeting at work and did manage to say that there is a very difficult colleague. It was horrendously busy after that (I had missed half an hour in my meeting).
6) Had a free cup of tea and a banana in the staff canteen.
7) Did a lot of shopping including new Christmas Eve pyjamas. Sons still want them! I got 900 Nectar points for spending more than £25 on clothes then 15% staff discount.
8) Curry from the freezer for tea.
9) Watching the Last Leg now.7 -
1 There was a 99p deal on a Donna Ashworth book, I thought I will give it a try.
2 We took Nestle for a post op check at the vets, and he has all clear with proviso we can call in next week if he’s not quite right, he seems to have found an elephant’s appetite which involves him tapping me on the foot and me getting up and warming some chicken mulch food for him as he can’t do solids.
3 My plan this afternoon was to get 6 roses in the ground as they don’t cope well in the greenhouse, instead I realised I need to get the ground prepared, so I got on and sorted that and created another tip bag, it all looks so much better. I then gathered some of the sunflower seeds and moved all the bits I need to get the roses in the ground to the front of the house for tomorrow, Planted a few more bulbs in the ground this time just 10 around the bird bath.
4 I’m feeling oddly calm, almost like literally nothing could worry me, is this what a proper night’s sleep does??
5 We have just ordered a takeaway, and leftovers will be lunch tomorrow.
6 I’ve had my eye on some tops in a sale for literal ages, they went from 40 to half price and I was still hmm, then 15, then they dropped to 10 and I’ve ordered them last night.
7 That clean bedding feeling for tonight.
8 Really distracted admiring the moon tonight, while reading.

Great news about Nestle @Purple_kitten .
Today's 5 are brought to you by the letter M inspired by last night's sky and the glorious
1) Moon - goodness it was beautiful
2) Mennie to which i was walking when i saw afore mentioned moon
3) Match - enjoyed the Scotland match. The three sets somehow were out of time so Scotland scored first in the front parlour then the main bar (where I was watching) then the back parlour so I think Scotland won 3-0 ;-)
4) Marmite on toast when I got home - a new jar, I do love Marmite and dipping the knife into a hitherto unscarred surface has an added frison
5) Mended - last week I moved both boys onto dog food 'for sensitive stomachs' and the boy wonder does indeed now seem totally mended (I must remember now to take the 6 left over of the cheaper (of course!) food to the food bin tomorrow)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Great news on Nestle and the boy wonder.
For yesterday,
Errands in the morning including dropping some books off at local cattery for resale, it’s about time literature flowed the other way out of the house.
A cup of bovril with my lunchtime roll.
Got my pony in from her field and sorted her out, chat with friends and managed to resist the homemade cake in the kitchen.
Call from my local garage, they have found me a mini! The exact spec and colour that I wanted, it’s 4 years old but has only done just over 20k miles so sounds perfect. It’s more than I’ve ever paid for a car 😳
No moon here as lots of cloud cover but a cosy evening with candles and a glass of red wine.

Post just disappeared again😡, first &'s been able to do for some time.
Okay, again from MrT.

There is🏉on and ABs to be urged over the line vs France🤗, among others.
Agree that East Anglian cold has really taken a grip this week.
Catch-up reading this page only, or mse disappears.
Good to read of all the 4-foot recoveries.
1. Hwbs, many, even renewed during the night!
2. Radio listening - drama, comedy, cricket, rugby, sports round-ups, DEFINITELY NOT ANY NEWS.
3.Crocheting more squares, 70 done now-another 26 to give 12 rows of 8, then darn ends, then join together, then donate for Sarcoma UK. I'll get there, eventually.🫶
4. So much reading, but did donate books to MrT's charity shelf just now and clothing to Children's Society.
5. Wonderful dentist Sarah and NHS+2 sets of antibiotic blitz. Such care and more to come.

Take care everyone, stay snug and safe.
All blessings.

Lainey, I'm shocked by how expensive even slightly used cars are.
1 It would have been my mums 93rd Birthday today, in her memory I planted her favourite daffodils, a group of approx. 30 bulbs.
2 It led on to me digging over the area and getting 7 rose bushes in the ground, I found another one in the garden. I got the compost mixed in and seeds in also hoping they might make it, moved all pots around to the back of the house, and swept up, bagged up 10 bags of excess soil and offered them for free locally
3 Whatspping with DB.
4 Leftover takeaway was lunch, pie, and greenery for tea.
5 Currently reading through interview paperwork, more of a pleasure when it’s done.

Up early.
Went to CP…via garden centre for kindling and a cheese scone to take away! Was charged sit in price even though I’d queried it at the time! So stood my ground to get a refund! ( you don’t pay VAT on takeaway food)
Nice walk though breezy and cold.
Had taken hoover with me. Though wasn’t too bad. Packed up cushions and throws from living room.
And home.
Fire on. Assumed my position on the sofa.Big drop in temperature.
Chat with sister.RTC Kiev for tea with veg.And early bed.9 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Porridge for breakfast.
3) Went to watch our local football team in the FA trophy and they won 1-0.
4) Bigger son's mother in law is having a new television so has offered me her old one. Mine is 16 and fine but not sure how much longer it will last.
5) Spoke to my school friend.
6) Watched bits of Strictly.
7) Have been lying under a cat that has been going from purring to sleeping mode for over an hour.7 -
For yesterday,
Small dog slept through the night so we all had a good sleep, very welcome.
Made a loaf and then headed out into the garden, tucked my non-hardy fuchsias away for the winter and it was a shame as they were still flowering but it’s meant to get very cold over the next few days. Tidied up other pots and emptied two baskets ahead of picking up some winter pansies from the old boy in the village.
Phoned the garage, said yes to the mini and paid a deposit. When I was a little girl I would sit in the back of my parents car and copy what my Dad did driving wise, when asked what car I was driving it was always a red mini and that’s exactly what I’m going to have!
An afternoon at the yard, girlie’s warmer rug had turned up so tried that on and now she’s ready for a drop in temperature. She’s not a tall horse at just 15.2 but has mahoosive shoulders so needs rugs made for heavier horses. Had a chat with our stable neighbour whose horse needs a tricky op on his spine so will be away for a couple of months.
Listened to the footie on the way home and we drew 1-1, cosy night at home and watched the first half of Moonflower Murders, have read the books and loved them plus Lesley M is one of my favourite actors.8
