Hello
Im currently sat in front of the fire. Just been out to stargaze for a few minutes. Our first clearish sky in ages.
Anyway a good night sleep always seems to be followed by a rubbish one ( lest I get too sure of myself!) so it was a rubbish one! Awake often. I have a dodgy shoulder which is often a source of pain overnight. So it was a sore shoulder-y kind of night. So I was awake from just after 4am. Then went out with dog about 5.30ish and had a quiet walk with him. Much sniffing was done. Then home about 6am and I decided to move furniture around…as I do!I’d moved it the week before I’d made the official decision not to move and it’s not been quite right! So I humphed sofas and dressers and tables and heavy chairs and rugs and then wonder why I have sore joints 😆
But once it was all done by 7am I was happier! And my sofa is back at the big window and I’ve sat and watched the birds and the breeze blowing the washing with a dog on my knee and knew it was the right thing.Saw the person ( for the first time) who pulled out of our sale the week before we were all supposed to move back in May. Grrrrr!
Went to supermarket and got a roll and some bacon for me and a banana for the dog!The pup has been here for a big chunk of the day but went away about 3pm.The sun came out this afternoon. How very nice to see a blue sky. It’s been so grey and dull.Filled up the log basket…I now refill a bag of logs at the log pile so I just have to lift that in then refill again for next time.Washed all the doorsteps which were all a bit doggy paw printy 🐾
Washed the bedding that’s DD2 that was still on the spare bed. Was in such a tangled knot when I brought it out the machine , ended up having to cut the seam to get it unknotted and the rest of the washing out it. Anyway it got a good blow once the sun and wind came out ( after the drizzly morning)
Printed out my script for Tuesday work, so that’s all ready.!
Made RTC cheese and ham Kiev thingys for tea with carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and sprouts!Log burner on and sat in front of…makes more sense having sofas here than the dining table. And just feels like a day that the things I wanted done were accomplished!8 -
5 pleasures beginning tonight with M
1) Music - Remembrance service - a gorgeous Kyrie (John Bell) and Peter Aston's So they gave their bodies (not one I was familiar with)
2) Mince round for tea - DD2 got the last one at the butchers hooray
3) Mennies - after walking the boys DD2 and I went to watch the rugby - fortunately for me MrE was in (big rugby fan) so I was able to slip off to the front parlour to watch Arsenal Chelsea when DrM and MrG arrived and she didn't feel deserted
4) so 4 must indeed be MrE
5) Murder - we're now watching an old Poirot - DD2 and I do love a good murder!

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep, but an early start.
2) Worked from 8-12. Had a tea break and there were mince pies on the free food table in the canteen so I had one of those! Listened to the muffled church bells outside ready for the Remembrance Day procession.
3) My sister and niece came round at 1ish and we had a cup of tea and a game of chess.
4) Had some free bread rolls from the Olio lady.
5) Spent about 2 hours weeding the back garden and clearing up tiny bits of cat food sachets that the foxes had dragged and chewed up everywhere. Cut back the brambles at the far end that I leave for blackberries.
6) Smaller son had a special offer for downloading the Pizza Hut app so we had 2 large pizzas for £10.
7) Looking forward to watching Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing at 9.6 -
1 A lazy Sunday barring the cooking and wash loads
2 Watched some dross
3 Reheated some lunch and cooked up sausages for during the week in the heat of it being used at the same time.
4 I am looking forward to the Sun shining through per the forecast for tomorrow!!!

For yesterday,
Small dog slept through to 5.30am so a better night for all, gentle start and a leisurely breakfast whilst catching up with the Hurchers.
Hoovered and cleaned the mini on the inside, mostly horse and dog hair, some shavings from big girl’s bed and a fair bit of dust! I even gave the leather seats a bit of a treatment and they’ve come up really nice. Not sure it will bring me much more money in the way of part exchange but I feel better for doing it!
Filled up the bird feeders and then watched a Mexican standoff between a pigeon and a much smaller dove, surprisingly the dove won and the pigeon was all ruffled feathers & indignation.
Late lunch of chicken pie with lots of veg followed by baked apples with mincemeat.
Reading our books and then the Sunday night silliness of a new Midsomer Murders, will leave fishing and Wolf Hall for another day.6 -
Hello.Early morning doggy walk and posted off a birthday card to DD1 …hoping it gets there in time.
The most stunning sunrise.Went to big dog food place. To get big dog food. Someone parked so close to my boot! Way over the park bay! Anyway I managed to squeeze the boot open enough to get a 15kg bag in! Grrr!
Then it was down to CP via garden centre for a scone! Cheese and apple? Pfft! Fruit instead. Now I like cheese and I like apples just not in my scone!Had a nice doggy walk. There’s now sheep in the nearby field. And I know there’s a big pile of badger poop somewhere so doggy was kept on lead.
‘Twas cold in the caravan and when I came out it was actually milder outside! Sat and enjoyed my scone and read and did 2 minutes silence. Then we headed to the beach. Still feeling a bit sad that I’m not living here. I’ll get over it but it’s just how I feel.
And home.Went to supermarket in DD2 car but I walked home.
Popped in to old work to say hello. Then was passing by friends so popped in for half an hour. Nice walk home.
Quick hoover of car…sausage roll crumbs and sand!Remade spare bed and have hoovering to do tonight upstairs.RTC chicken pie and veggies for tea.Pretty sunset. Was nice to have a non grey day!8 -
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Tidied up a bit plus 2 loads of washing.
3) Another couple of hours in the garden. Weeded all the back borders, moved 2 currant bushes that didn't thrive where they were and planted the rest of the MSE 500 bulbs!
4) Played chess online.
5) Worked 4-8. I have my first meeting on Friday but was told today I'm not going to be sacked.
6) Potato wedges, baked beans and fried eggs for tea.
7) Watching television all evening with a rather windy cat on my knee!6 -
For yesterday,A huge one nowadays, all three of us slept through the night with not a toilet break in sight, get us eh!
Sunshine and a decent amount of it, lovely after so many grey days. I washed the dogs bedding and it mostly dried outside.
Driving to the yard and having a tear in my eye listening to schoolchildren singing Yellow Submarine to Paddy as he stepped off the Mersey ferry.
Farrier visit for my big girl, all done now until the new year.
A starry night and we could see the moon, seems an age since we’ve had one of those.7 -
Thick thick fog here! Waah! I don’t like it.
Up early.
Pretty sunrise…my sisters was more vibrant!Work today. Went well.
DD2 picked me up and dropped me off. She stayed for her tea. Mince round and veggies .And a new bit of work booked in.8 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to the exciting town of my birth for the charity shops and found a Gudren Sjoden top for £3.
3) Had a cup of tea in Waitrose and spoke to the cafe person a bit.
4) Went on to the floody city charity shops. Only did the 2 on the approach in the end but was very pleased to find a tiny set of wooden chessmen that I shall save and give to my chess opponent at Christmas. They had a name written in (and address) and the man who owned them died in 1980 and they look 1930s. £1.50 !
5) Back home and hoovered and damp dusted my room and cleaned the inside of the windows (all the outside done a few days ago). Looks much better now.
6) Smaller son and I went to the supermarket and a colleague (appointed the same time as me) was struggling to update the orders on the ipad so I said, "Oh, ask Gary over there, he's helpful", and she said, "Would you ask him?" so we both went over!
7) We had a drive around to watch a lorry reversing into the tiny parking bay at the supermarket.
8) Went to the football which was very exciting...
