I woke up in a bit of a grump I couldn’t shake off, DH suggested we need a couple of bits on offer over the bridge, I mentioned they are on offer until the end of the month so it could wait, but I lost and getting out might have shifted the mood in fairness. And it's also stopped the small shops as we won't run out of bits.
1 The house was very half-heartedly cleaned up, I hoovered and mopped upstairs, and then swept and mopped downstairs.
2 DH took me out to lunch to Subway, not mse at all but lovely and to make it more effective we saved half for tomorrows lunch also
3 We popped to the cheap shops for puppy pads, cleaning products and a packet of broken biccies of course.
4 Across to C0stco, we stopped for a cuppa and snack to keep DH’s diabetes controlled, we’ve learned to listen to the signs, and then picked up the offers we wanted, the only not on list things were the rotisserie chicken and no sugar added ketchup. I kept us on budget and list. Feeling proud.
5 Home and looking forward to soaking in the bath.

Oh Haggis!
For yesterday,
Another day of grey stillness, we also had some drizzly rain at one point so very much a November day.
Went to see my friend and to say goodbye to her sweet mare before she heads off to a new home, very sad and can’t help but think that there will be regrets in the future! The current yard backs on to a forest so we went for a leg stretch and heard a raptor of some kind screeching from the trees.
On the way to see my own horse and went past a mini garage where a rather fetching red one caught my eye, a quick stop showed it to be the spec that I want but didn’t have time to explore more so will ring and arrange a test drive.
Home and the monthly trip to the V E T S for small dog, different painkillers prescribed and injection given, who wants money anyway 🤣
I have popped a couple of jackets spuds in the oven before we went so they made for an easy tea, oh and a new series of Shetland.8 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep. We are more ill today.
2) Got up early because the window cleaner and tiler were due. Put the recycling out and tidied the kitchen so the man could measure the floor.
3) The window cleaners arrived and did a good job. There are windows I can't access (e.g upstairs and over the extension) and they were filthy before.
4) Watched television much of the day and played chess online.
5) Got some goulash out of the freezer and had that with mashed potato as our appetites have not diminished at all!
6) The tiler did not turn up at all but I have just made shortbread which will be finished in time for GBBO.6 -
1 The bathroom is complete, so I halved the stuff going back in, not as easy as it sounds but I’m so glad it’s done.
2 Today's plans changed when our oldie Nestle who is ticking along with numerous things wrong, but last night we could see him turning into an emergency, he plodded on through the night with puree feeds, and I called the vets this morning for an appointment this afternoon, he’s been put on some serious painkillers but is going to have to undergo a dental op, so today was £68 including meds, next is the op. Ack, his teeth cost less than ours thou....
3 Cuddles with Nestle on the way home.
4 We popped into Poundstretcher as it’s near the vets and picked up some animal treats, and a glow in the dark toy which was whipped out of our hands and stashed away. We looked in the CS but nothing.
5 Home and made a quick chilli, and started portioning up yesterday's Costco things, cheese grated up, chicken portioned up and sausages portioned into the freezer.

Ouch to Nestle's teeth - good luck at the vet. We are trying to get our cat fixed. It has gotten very expensive. We have found that the place we usually go is back up and running after closing for Covid (took them awhile) so we are going there next week. But pets can be so expensive - just like having human children aren't they.5

For yesterday,
Oh look, another grey day, it’s getting a tad tiresome now but at least the trees are blazing brightly.
Trip into horsey town for a food shop, no bargains to be had but I saw a friend and we had a good natter.
Home, unloaded bags and then straight back out with my cute co-pilot in tow so that she could have some hydrotherapy, chat with therapist and she kept it short but did do some laser treatment as well for pain management.
Home again, quick lunch then back out to see my big girl. We did a bit of work in the lunge pen then settled her in for the evening. And home once more, this time to stay! A bit of a cobbled together tea with chicken, cannellini beans and passata, but very tasty all the same.4 -
Morning all.
Recent pleasures:
Walk and bacon roll in local park with friend. Beautiful Autumn colours 😊
Managed to get back to swimming twice this week after a 6 week gap due to holiday and atrocious cold and cough.
Need to get cleaning and decluttering re potential future house move, but can’t seem to get motivated.
We’re going to a concert at the Hammersmith Cultural Centre tomorrow so will have a pub meal before we go.
Happy Friday and weekend all 😊7 -
Good afternoon. Grey. Again.
First guess at Wordle was right!! Been doing it about three years now and share results with DD but first time that's ever happened!!
End of appointments week. Have now got new glasses, cleaned and polished teeth and new prescription! However today a filling fell out so another appointment needed!
Managing to clear lots of mini leftovers from the freezer. Still quite a few to go though, and I keep adding more, especially soup at the moment.
Enjoyed Ellis on C5. Watched Shetland but it's just not the same without Jimmy Perez! The scenery's still good though.
Happy grey day everyone

Been a grey day here too Happycas ( been a grey week) however it’s been dry so I’ll take that as a win!
Up and at em this morning. Had a couple of things to do then it was out to work at 10.30am
Met first family then away to beach town to meet another. Both sets of people are lovely.
Felt a bit shoulda woulda coulda in beach town as it’s where I wanted to be and back in the summer I’d envisaged late afternoon beach walks then home just before dark and cooking in my new kitchen…but for whatever reason it wasn’t to be and I had a Gregg’s sausage roll and got crumbs all over the car I hoovered yesterday 😆
And home as it was starting to fade . I was quite anxious to get home before it was getting dark. As I don’t see well driving in the dark.DD2 was here but niece phoned so DD2 headed off as she was going out. The pup left here. Then I sat and wrote and wrote. Sent it off. Walked a pup then came back and had had a phone call from person. So called her back and just a couple of little amendments made and that part of the job is done! Was kindly invited to the after tea but I had to decline but lovely to be asked. And bah I need to go and make my bed before I get in it !And pup just collected ! Hurrah! Peace and quiet7
